- This is not a railfan video. This is an immersive cinematic experience with some of the last vestiges of the once-giant Rio Grande Narrow Gauge system. In Part I of the Rio Grande Rendezvous, the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad takes on 64 miles of the most rugged railroad territory anywhere, all with steam locomotives approaching a century's age.

very nice job!
#488 is my favorite steam train! I love her tender that saids “Cumbres and Toltec Scenic R.R.” It’s perfect! She has amazing whistle
#488 & #486 my two favorites, with #484 being right up there with them! Great work and production! That unmarked Brass 5 Chime on #488 is something else when it's blown wide open. The DT&I 5 Chime on the #484 is also phenomenal.
MUITO SHOW
3:15 wwwhhhhoooo! Old girl putting in work! Those chuffs are like music.
Simply stunning.
Magnificent work!
Wait a second… this isn’t Toledo, Ohio
Within 2 years, these engines will be hitting 100.
Great work
I took my first trip on this magnificent railroad just a few weeks after you filmed this video, later in June. Everything about this railroad is simply stunning, it's like going back to the 1890s for 6 hours. 488 was on point for my train too!
Spectacular camera work! Well done capturing all the sights and sounds of the C&TTR.
Great work! True cinematography!
Thanks great video and sound of trains. 👍👍👍
Beautiful video. Thanks for sharing!
By far the best work I’ve seen from you, keep it up :)

Great video! It was such a fun and crazy adventure!
Man... this was AMAZING work here. Just found your channel via this video and I'm definitely subscribing. The score was great and fit practically perfectly. Gave me chills at some moments. Well done and keep doing what you're doing!
Nick you truly are an artist! The quality of this piece is unsurpassed in this genre! Great job!😊
This video is a masterpiece.
I'm doing the geology train in september with my grandfather. My plan was to rent a camera from my school and create a documentery type short film out of it. After seeing this though, I feel as if I have something to compete to. I like your professional approach to capturing steam on video. The cinematography is excellent, and I feel this kind of video style can in a way modernize the hobby. I'll still go ahead and try my video, but knowing I cant even get shots of the train moving from the outside might make it a hard sell.
Go for it!
The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad isn't the only stop on our rendezvous - stay tuned for Part II, a wild adventure on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad: th-cam.com/video/LiSBZiEopwQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TOfyOxQaEnVPFLn1

@@PennsyPro Hey Thanks man! Really appricate it! I've been looking for music like this.
Amerika hat einige der schönsten Museumsbahnen der Welt. Auch landschaftlich sehr reizvoll. Leider ist es soo weit weg von der Schweiz 😢

where is that bridge at the beginning of the video
It’s on the former Rio Grande right-of-way over the Navajo River, west of Dulce, N.M.. A water tower also still stands there.
