      One question🙋:- that why we use velocity in acceleration instead of speed? We can use speed and if answer is for direction.. Then what is the use of direction in acceleration

    • @dipakkyadav5796

      If change in velocity per time is defined as acceleration then what defines change in speed? Please reply

      Velocity refers to speed AND direction. Because the direction is changing (despite the fact the speed was the same) the velocity changes.

      While moving on road you can't move at a normal pace you have to move right or left to reach your destination and for that you will need to change your Velocity

    • @thepranav7025
      @thepranav7025 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Velocity=direction and speed
      If direction and speed change then only the velocity can be changed.
      Hence, the question is wrong the velocity hasn't changed if the speed is constant and the direction is linear

      Bhuvan Mohan mass is how heavy an object is while weight is mass WITH the gravity...

    • @Ahmedfazayel72
      @Ahmedfazayel72 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mass is the amount of matter in a body while weight is the force acting on an object, if someone asks you what is you weight? you will reply ?kg but in reality this is your mass,only people are confused between these two terms. in addition mass of an object remains same at difference places but there weight does change.

    • @raisinm7494
      @raisinm7494 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mass is a scalar quantity which is the measurement of the amount of matter in an object. It has no direction but a magnitude, which is why it's scalar. It also doesn't change at any place or time, so if you were on earth or the moon or whatever, your mass will remain the same. It's also measured in kilograms or grams.
      Weight is the measurement of the gravitational force on an object. It is a vector quantity, because it has a magnitude AND it is directed towards the center of the earth. It will change depending on the gravitational pull, so your weight would be different on the moon than on the earth. It is measured in newtons.

    U said velocity=displacement/time but when direction changes velocity also changes,how?

    • @jawahaartheella5606
      @jawahaartheella5606 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i think you didnt check concept displacement is a vector quantity so it has direction so when displacement changes velocity changes

    • @AdityaSharma-fh2ev
      @AdityaSharma-fh2ev 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      See Velocity is a vector quantity so it has Magnitude as well as Direction.We Can say that Velocity has changed if either Magnitude has Changed i.e speed or Its direction . So in the video the there was a change in direction Thus velocity changes hence It was a case of acceleration. Hope this helps

    • @raisinm7494
      @raisinm7494 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The formula that you gave represents average velocity, not velocity. Velocity = Distance/Time, just like speed. But when you want to find the average velocity, you use the formula you just gave because displacement measures the shortest distance between two points, and that's important in finding the average velocity.
      To the second part of your question, let me first define velocity. Velocity is speed in a direction. So, it'll be written the same as speed except with a direction. For example: 5m/s North. So when the direction changes, let's say the object moves to the west, velocity will change to 5m/s West. If it was speed, then there would be no change. But velocity has a direction with it and when that changes, velocity changes :)

      I don't understand 2:40 the object move at the same speed no velocity changes so will it not be speed not acceleration.

    Is it possible when the velocity is zero though there have present any acceleration?

    • @anuragchoudhary3748
      @anuragchoudhary3748 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes e.g. when you throw a ball up

    • @Whatisevengoingon
      @Whatisevengoingon 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is not possible. Velocity factors in where one ends up. If the velocity is 0, that means you are in the place you were first standing, stationary. And, it is not possible to accelerate your speed whilst standing still. So, therefore, it is not possible to have any present acceleration whilst your velocity is 0.

      If you through a stone upwards direction, at the highest point, it's velocity will be zero,however it has acceleration 'g'.

    • @Whatisevengoingon

      Hello Priya, I understand this concept and therefore will answer your question.
      Speed and acceleration are two completely different things. Speed is constant. However, acceleration is not.
      Just to recap, acceleration means getting faster. With acceleration, whatever body is in motion, its speed keeps increasing/getting faster.
      So let's say you are driving a car and you keep the speed of the car at 20mph; the speed is constant. The direction does not affect the speed and acceleration here, because it doesn't change anything.
      The acceleration of the car you are driving is 0mph because it is moving at the same speed and its speed is NOT increasing. If the car's speed was increasing instead of staying the same, then there would be acceleration.
      I hoped I helped with this and that 'Don't Memorise' make a video about this if you still don't get the concept!

    • @azizaamin7867

      Because if velocity changes then there is acceleration. As the direction changes, velocity will also change which means there is accceleration

    I went to school in the dark ages (1970's). I can say with absolute certainty that if I had a teacher like you then, I would have earned advanced degrees in mathematics and one of the hard sciences many years ago and would now be preparing for retirement after a long and successful career in the military. I would have been at least a two star General. Maybe three star. Anyway - I love your videos. Keep them coming. I am subscribed to your channel.
