The sweater vest is great, John. And congrats, Scott, on your brioche. I’m new to brioche and enjoy it, but still struggle with mistakes and reading my brioche knitting.
I forgot to mention in the episode that I made it doubly difficult for myself by doing 2 color brioche with one single yarn and then the second color is two fingering yarns held double.
Scott, you may already have learned the story behind the name of the pub, but am guessing that it's named after the song of the same name sung by Luke Kelly from the famous folk band The Dubliners. The words of the song are the poem ‘On Raglan Road’, which was written by the Irish poet Patrick Kavanagh (he lived on this road here in Dublin at the time). Have a wonderful day on your birthday.

Very late to comment here, but I highly suggest using ravelry to find lys's when you're at places you don't know. It's worked great for me in american cities and a trip to spain!
Hi, I'm a new subscriber from Delaware. I'm not a knitter, but I am completely fascinated by your videos. They are like ASMR to me. @John, I love the sweater vest and the tomato color. I didn't watch Nomadland 100% (I'm the kind of person who walks in and out of movies that my hubby is playing, and then I pepper him with questions). Frances McDormand can do no wrong. Question: did you coordinate your shirts for this video in some homage to Cinco de Mayo? Hope you milked that Applebee's card. Tip for Scott for ur 50th - get your AARP card and MILK THE BENEFITS. I dreaded getting my card, but TBH, the deals (especially travel discounts) are pretty sweet.
lol...my son loves to go there for the same reason! He graduated with his Masters in Social Work last night. We all celebrated at Hacienda last night with pitchers of Dreamsicle margaritas. Hubs had a Pacifica. I love the Irish pub at Downtown Disney. the Irish bar in DC is also really cool. Can't recall the name, next to Irish Times if thats still around. I really enjoyed Nomadland. I think the point of the movie is that there are people living this way. Some choose it, some don't....its the difference in being homeless or unhoused. Its not glamorous. Its a difficult life.
I have fond memories of the Irish Times from living in Washington, D.C. (Not so fond memories of the bushes across the street after too many pints of Guinness in one night.) Since we fled DC to Milton DE, we have a pseudo-Irish pub in town called Irish Eyes, but it's essentially Fridays that happens to have token Irish grub on it. I think that any place that has Sherperds Pie on the menu, Guinness/Harp on tap, and uses Celtic Garamond as a menu font can claim that they're an Irish pub. Sláinte!
with 2 color brioche each color is a pass....you do 2 passes per row.....brioche is awesome, you do a slip with a yo on top, the next stitch is either brioche knit called a bark or a brioche purl called a burp....it's a knit or purl together with the yo that was liad on top from the previous pass.....Stephen West has an awesome brioche shawl he called the "Flying Fox Tails Shawl"
