I think Mio took both backing vocal parts. It's clear that Yui took both backing vocal parts in the version where Mio sings lead because Yui hits the higher part at 0:36 without any struggle because she has a higher range than the other members. Following that pattern, Mio might have sung both parts here because there is a noticeable struggle on the higher part at 0:36, hence why it was extended (probably unintentionally). It would make sense since Mio has the lowest (comfortable) range out of all the members. I feel like Mugi would be able to hit that note just as easily as Yui did in the other version. That being said, I'm only like 70% sure. It would make the most sense though.
I've listened to so much of their vocals & backing vocals from character image songs as well that, for another example, at parts like 0:48 the late "の" really sounds like Mugi's intonation to me, 90% sure! She also more clearly sings the backing in other songs so it isn't out of the question. I don't think Mio would necessarily struggle with high notes more than Mugi, especially since she would be the better singer in general, and also since it seems to me that Mugi's voice actor has to put in more effort to sound like her character than Mio's. Also, about Mio's version. I don't think Yui's doing any backing there, just the duet is switched up. So what I think are Mugi's backing vocals here seem even more clear to me there (the backing there is almost certainly a different recording though), and it seems Mio's backing vocals were reduced maybe to not conflict with her lead. It even kinda seems like Ritsu is doing backing there like at 0:34 (right side) but I think making such an assertion now would be a stretch, sadly I can't figure out how to properly isolate that version, if I could I think it would all become obvious. Buuut Mio can really change the way she sounds like in parts of the backing of Don't Say Lazy it barely sounds like Mio at all anymore, so maybe you're right after all. I wonder then if you think Mio's also singing the backing in Pure Pure Heart or at the end of Utauyo Miracle, which is what I'm actually less sure about
@@PERFECTLY_Wasted_Potential You can try isolating the backing vocals for Mio's version since there is an instrumental track and -instrument tracks as well. I'm set on the fact that Yui is doing all backing parts there. The "no" at 0:48 does sound a lot like Mugi's voice though... Weird anomaly there. I'm mostly just following a pattern here. If Yui did both parts for Mio's version then it would make sense for Mio to do the same here, which is still what it sounds like to me. We also don't hear Mugi or Mio sing in their head voice for a lot of the other songs so there is almost no reference point in that range. Mugi does in honey sweet tea time around 2:30 and Mio does in the cassette ver of my love is stapler around 2:54 (kawanakucha) but it's not as high. Using that as a reference, this still sounds like Mio to me. As for pure pure heart and utauyo, I think we're on the same boat. It's really difficult to tell. The higher part in pure pure heart is so low in the mix that it's impossible to know from that. Even using your isolation of the backing vocals (well done btw), there are too many frequencies missing to hear it 100% clearly and know for sure. The only thing I can gather from the end of utauyo is that either Mugi or Mio is singing the "ahhhh" part. Or it could be both! That part is definitely double-tracked so it could be both of them. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was only Mugi who sang that.
man, this is masterpiece. i discover your channel by accident and found video of multitrack. really want multi track k-on song for my practice. thank, man. keep it up!! request: Dont Say Lazy
Thanks so much! I'm happy this can help with practice! Many people have requested Don't Say Lazy but it's not possible to get the original individual instrument tracks using my method, and the vocal isolation is ok but it has a lot of artifacts. I might still upload the vocals but after I'm done with all the tracks where this high quality stuff is possible! If you really want the Don't Say Lazy tracks anyway I recommend downloading the stem tracks from the K-On game: houkago-stem-time.tumblr.com/post/151213986734/dont-say-lazy-stems They're shorter and also slightly differently arranged from the original thoughi
Yeah I think people tried to sync it to a bunch of instrumentals to isolate the vocals but gave up before they found the only one that really works, the first instrumental from the part 2 S1 band score CD. The minus one instrument tracks never seem to work on any full instrumentals or vocals either.
Unless you mean that you want to play this vocals video along with the【-Guitar1】release, then idk. Make sure you're not using the Mio version, or try to sync the track to one of my isolated instrument videos first like drums, since they have the same sync as the vocals.
Is Mio singing the lower harmony and Mugi the higher? I thought Mio had a higher voice than Mugi. Also, does Mugi sing in the anime, because I don’t remember her using a mic at the school festival performances, but she does in the movie.
I never realized that Mugi was in back vocals
Me either
Same
Same i thought it was only mio
1:37 Mugi's vibratto is so beautiful
she wanted to join the Choir club originally after all
Blessed
One could not know that Mugi was actually backing up since Yui and Mio's voice were much louder. But it is a nice touch.
Hehe I always knew because she extends her last line in the bridges like at 0:36!
she also wanted to do choir in the first couple episodes when she joined. She does soprano :0
