  • This 2yo filly has been with us for a couple of weeks, has been very bad to saddle and cinch and would buck when sent out. She has also been very tough fro wanting to rear up and paw and strike at any sign of stimulus. We are proud of her progress and appreciate her try...

Beautiful animal. I'm new to your videos, but I'm enjoying them very much. Determined to learn at least one thing from each one I see. Trying to use youtube as a tool in these winter months instead of mindless browsing, so that when spring arrives, I have more knowledge to use towards the training of my 3 yr old filly. However, the biggest hurdle we have to leap now is finding confident, friendly people to expose and socialize her with. There's not too many of those around in our everyday life, so she only has my husband and I handling her and she does very well. Her fear of strangers isn't something I expected to have to deal with. For example, riding in a nearby arena, which is empty 99.9% of the time, we came upon a couple just leaving. When they greeted us, Filly jumped and trembled under me, as tho she'd never imagined that other two-leggers were able to talk. That was my first clue. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and educating those of us so eager to learn.

    Hey there!
I love your videos, I have started quite a few horses and am still learning! I rescue them from auctions to vet, make safe and rehome. But especially the auction horses always have some weird quark they throw at me that I don’t know what to do with. How did you learn what you know? I am so frustrated and discouraged sometimes I want to just quit starting... did you run into these issues early in your career? Most recent issue I have is this mare is cinchy bomb proof on the ground but as soon as she sees me out of her eye and I turn her head she panics undersaddle. Do you have any recommendations for that?

I have a reactive snorty horse. He tolerates all the desensitizing I’ve done but he freaks about saddle blankets or putting anything on his back . Can do light pads but nothing heavier that makes any noise.
