@@maroofr it doesn’t rev high all the time when its driven properly. Its not designed for speed, its for seamless progress. If this had a manual transmission, it would make the same sounding engine noise if you floored it everywhere when accelerating. Thats because its the SAME engine yes ?
I don’t care that the screen’s bigger what sucks is how slow it is. There’s sometimes up to a 4 or 5 second delay. That’s pathetic. If it’s not as fast as me turning a nob or hitting a button than why is it even there?
Boxer engines are vocal, they always have been. The way they are designed means the power band is at higher revs than the usual four cylinder setup. I had an Imprezza RC. It only had a 1.6 NA engine, fine but it didnt start to pull until about 3k revs. Thats why Subaru sounds noisy because they need the revs. If you prefer a more relaxed progress with the revs staying low, buy a Lexus hybrid.
I really wish Subaru wasn’t so married to the tall vertical screen. I’ve got nothing against screens in cars, but that center stack just looks like they tried to copy other people’s homework with a Fisher-Price tablet.
Very Subjective, I like the vertical screen! Matches your phone screen when linked and doesn't look tacked on like a lot of other car companies do, integrates much better with the flow of the dash.
@@gregs4163 Agreed. At least it looks integrated into the overall interior design as opposed to some manufacturers who look like they just glued a tablet to the dash.

The acceleration at 5:35 sounds terrible. Subaru CVT (with its steel belt and pulley setup) is not designed for this. It simply cant keep up properly, and thats why you can hear the engine revs are not climbing smoothly as it tries to match the speed. Normal acceleration you would not notice this (when matching revs with speed) and would get to the same speed with the revs staying low, not red lining it like a madman. Lexus and Toyota eCVT do not have the same issue of hesitancy when accelerating, although being an eCVT it will still red line if you floor it, and is totally unnecessary anyway driving in that manner. Anyone who can drive these in the correct manner will know that the idea is to keep the revs down at all times. You get far better economy and you will get up to speed perfectly well.

Yes, the cvt of Subaru is much reliable and smoother than other car brands. But I wish they can put a 6 speed automatic transmission on it, so it doesn't overheat the transmission when you want a maximum and spirited driving.
Im afraid Subaru has some solid reasoning to using CvT only on their SUVs. first, the fuel consumption. Secondly, its the symmetrical all wheel drive system arrangement for Subaru is heavily relied on the longitudinal engine positioning and only doable with CVT setups.
Boxer engines are more vocal but have more character than the usual four cylinder engines in everything else. If you had a manual version and revved it to the red line all the time it would be as noisy as the engine revving with a CVT. Its just the CVT hold the revs longer but ONLY if you floor it, which you dont need to do EVER. Ive had both manual and CVT versions. It comes with experience.

Cars aren't released on a calendar year schedule -- car makers don't all release models on Jan 1 each year. So there will always be a time where the model year and calendar year don't match, and it's always better from a consumer mindset to be forward looking... Most car makers release new models in the fall -- September or October. Those vehicles will always have the upcoming year for model year, so a vehicle that came out in Oct '23 would be a 2024 model. And models that are released in 2024 would have 2025 model year, and so on each year.
Such a disapointment. Havent seen such an ugly car for a long time, the proportions are ridiculous - the old model looks so much better. + i'm sure the new wont have such good offroad skills, because its bigger, heavier and has much wider wheels. I'm also sure it wont last as long as the old ones without any troubles/issues (for example, the touchscreen will never last 15-30 years like the classic buttons and controls - and thats a big problem, because everything is on that touchscreen now: the climate control, the radio, the navigation and the x-mode selector). I would go with the old model, there are still many on stock and you could get a really good price now. Or even more safe buy: the Outback. Because it dont have any hybrid battery and has a naturally aspirated engine - this car will last 30 years and 1 mio kilometers without problems.
It's a nice vehicle...but Subaru please get rid of that bootleg wanna be Volvo touchscreen. Dat engine is tiny...but the price is good.
