    To add: Since these are vintage, you have to follow the tips and tricks since it's not as straightforward as buying new watches.
    When buying vintage, make sure to zoom in on the pictures to check for damages, stains, rust. Also, read the listing details, make sure it's listed as running because a lot of the dirt-cheap stuff on ebay is actually sold for spares/repair.

    Another great video covering a niche largely ignored by the bigger watch channels. I agree that Credor bargains are to be had - 30-34mm slim men's quartz dress watches just aren't in fashion which is a boon for people like me who like them. Examples from other brands that I reckon represent great value are quartz Omega Genève and De Ville, especially in 18k gold, and 9k gold watches presented to employees for 25 years of service in the UK. Plenty of mechanical examples of those with nice movements from ETA and Peseux. Some people hate the inscriptions engraved on the case backs but I love them - the transport me back to the time when the watch was made, when employers were paternalistic and people had jobs for life. All adds to the authentic vintage vibe for me at any rate.

    • @AliasEveWatches
      @AliasEveWatches  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much! On the vintage Omega watches, I've had my eye on those in 2019 but I felt they were already beyond my budget.

    • @eurovnik
      @eurovnik 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AliasEveWatches I was surprised that some of the Omegas are still relatively affordable. Picked up an 18k solid gold quartz De Ville for $450 last week. The 9k presentation watches with mechanical movements were often made by jewelers like Garrard and brands like Rotary and can be had for $300-400. All UK prices including 20% sales tax so possibly even less in the US.

    Not me randomly finding your video while looking for Credor and falling in love with those vintage ones and 'accidently' ending up buying 3 Credor (9571-6000, 2F70-0490 and 8J81-6B00) in excellent condition, no visible scratch, for less than $500 (living in Japan has its percs for Japanese brands and people not really into this hobby here 😄). I totally blame you and not my compulsive buying 😛😁
    They look tiny next to my other 39-41mm watches but they sure know how to catch the eye and I don't mind the 32-33mm too much as I have a small wrist. Thanks for the recommandation, it helped me go through the "yeah but it's a quartz movement" block I had (if only rechargeable batteries of that size existed that would be great).

    I’ve been looking on eBay for Credors over the last day or so. One thing I found interesting is how often they do not include the size. Or in one case, a very misleading measurement. (One listing gave the case size as 36mm. However, when I read more carefully it was 36mm from corner to corner. I asked and was told it was 32mm wide without the crown.)
    Just further proof you need to be careful. Thanks again! It’s been fun searching and learning about these gems!
