I fully agree that the husbands role is to support the family. I think y’all answered this sensitive question very well!

Pray about it! Never stop praying Thank God my husband can work while I stay home with five and pregnant. God cares for us. Have faith!

I was watching/listening to earlier podcasts in the last weeks of when you guys lived in your house. I noticed immediately that Elisha looks much healthier living in nature like you guys are now! You always look great together but there is a natural glow being where you are now.

I appreciated that Elisha was seeking to understand the husband’s perspective. There are any number of reasons they’re not on the same page-a miscommunication was mentioned. I worked FT for 2 years when we had our first and my husband went back to grad school-an extremely demanding program. He also had the GI bill with the army which largely covered our housing. This is something that I offered to do while my husband worked-our goal being that we could get down to a single income and he could be the sole provider of our home. By God’s grace we met that goal and I’m staying home FT now. I think that’s the biggest thing-that the husband and wife are on the same page.

I agree that being on the same page is most important! I unfortunately had to end a relationship with someone I saw my future with because he didn't convey any willingness to change his actions when I expressed my concern for our financial future. I didn't mind that his income wasn't much, but I was bothered by his irresponsible spending habits, lack of prioritizing our future, and unwillingness to set financial goals with a clear timeline

Some men don’t ever get it. It’s unfortunate that happens sometimes. What is his father like, it might explain how he sees things

A wife is the husband's help meet. I just resigned when I was young and never had empathy for the pressure put on him. God requires strongly that one must look after your own family

We love Prairie Health/Praxis health on Prairie Ave. if we need medical help for us or our children. All or most of the doctors there are awesome and holistically minded, encouraging healthy eating and excersise etc to help one stay healthy. Never once pushed anything on us we didn't want and never even asked about if our children get the ******. Driving an hour there is well worth it for us.

Some men have a handicap or breakdown too and need to rest and the wife can help out too

This is exactly the reason to work harder now, so that the family will be prepared in case of an emergency. There needs to be a clear timeline for financial goals. Without accountability, a woman will be waiting around wasting years of her life on the basis of an empty promise.

I love apparently any topic that you guys discuss. You bring such freshness and truth to everything, and it's so nice to be hearing biblically based perspectives on every decision and idea. Love hearing how those around you do things as well. Also. The humility and down to earthness. 🤌

My husband told me to quit my career. I did and he cheated on me and divorced me. It took me years to get back to a good job. You never know what they will do to you.

Sadly in norway if you have degrees and work experience people wouldnt hire you as a barista or such because rhey wouldnt waste time training etc for you to quit whilst looking for something better

Then work in the industry you have training in and work on your business on the side. Lol they weren't saying you have to work in hospitality while you grow your business

Do yall vaccinate your children? I’m thinking no since you mentioned yall don’t do the regular pediatrician thing. I’ve done less and less vaccines with each child and love to learn more from parents that I respect, such as you two, regarding vaccines.

I think it come down to expectations. I don't think it's biblical for a man to provide specifically financially. I'm a SAHD and my wife and i love our roles
