- Hi! As the game is finally officially available, I've decided to share my own experience from the game from beginning to End.
I did absolutely everything from the game, recorded all the important stuff. If you don't want to get spoiled althought it's from a game that already existed, don't go on the internet.
I hope you appreciate my videos content, not an easy task to do but I'm here now.

These rematches is something I believe all Pokémon games should have, not just for the challenge but also because they add so much more personality to the Gym leaders. We know Gym leaders are supposed to be the best trainers in the region, competitive with the E4. While I really miss the Frontier Brains, giving the Gym leaders the same level of competitive teams really helps in their absence. Finally, I really love how the Gym leaders' ace Pokémon have customized Poke Ball animations. Such an underrated feature.
I wish they would ever release a Pokémon game with the follow feature's
- able to change throwing animations
- title defence matches
- a new pokemon world tournament with all known trainers from all games to battle
- epic anime like moments (like in sword and shield)
- new mega evolutions (cause everyone wants those)
- being able to travel to other regions
- more character customization options
- being able to chose any pokemon as your starter (cause don't we all want to have our favorite pokemon as our first also not being able to choose a legendary as starter)
- ball capsules (i personally like those for the dramatic effect)
- options at the beginning to decide a difficulty to play on (for the competitive players like myself)
- and just a good story since we haven't had that since gen 5
- and last good/long extra game play after you finish the main story cause honestly it's boring after you are done with the main story stuff

Also the story is good in gen 7. People don't realize it because they are always hating on something, always busy complaining about anything they can complain.

The fact that Volkner opens with a Pelipper that has drizzle and is holding a Damp Rock is freaking genius. These rematch teams really make up for the lackluster first teams they use.
I mean, i'd be genius if pelipper had used u-turn and gone directly to lanturn cuz those were wasted turns of rain.....
@@dallasbernieri9156 Unfortunately the AI can mess up XD I wish it messed up with my first challenge of the E4, because Flint's AI set up that Drifblim-Infernape combo so aggressively, I was totally unprepared for it
@@cainyourkids Was it that minimize + baton pass strat? It surprised me too was actually impressed as hell. I was pretty sure it did it in the original games but im glad regardless. Havent struggled with the league this must in ages it was great
@@justmilk3150 Right? I don't think I've ever experienced it in the OG because I used to grind so hard and be so overleveled that I'd just OHKO everything. This time around, I played on Set Mode and I only leveled my mons to around 60 to match E4 and the challenge spike was fun (and stressful)
I'd like to believe the Team you face at first is what they use to maintain a Fair Fight against a First-Time Challenger Trainer, but when rematched, they use their Personal Team, being what is seen in the Rematches.

Lmao, all jokes aside tho. I’m really happy they included gym leader rematches. It gives them more personality. And I’m happy with the difficulty because I find it as a fresh break from one shotting everyone. This post game is better than the original diamond and pearl, not as good as platinum but I think it’s overhated.

I dont think so. The Breloom would've had the same results with Leftovers, and it would be even better since it wouldn't have to wait for the Toxic Orb to activate. It still could have Poison Heal as a way to catch anyone trying to poison him.

@@andrezits9723 Poison Heal heals for 1/8 per turn, which is significanly better than Leftovers' 1/16 per turn

volkner still being the top dog in sinnoh even after all these years is still crazy i would even say hes one of the strongest gym leaders in the whole series probably in the top 5
I like how Volkner is slightly above against every other Sinnoh gym leader in terms of levels. I would say he is probably the strongest gym leader now
@jointser1008 i still dont believe that He is supposed to be the 8th Gym Leader while this Random ass Bug Catcher gets to be in the top 4. I think Volkner is more on par with Flint.
Hitmontop capoeira dancing at the rythm of gym leader battle theme is something I didn't know I needed in my life until now
This is what I like Gym leaders at full power since in the anime they adjust their power levels against trainers but since you are the Champion you are a target to defeat.
I really like rematches and I'm Looking Forward to the rematch of the pokémon league.
These rematches are pretty epic. Nicely balanced & strategic teams by the gym leaders. Also, who else hates the friendship misses & 1hp BS???
Yeah. Really miss Gen 6 and 7 when it was optional.

I think the whole friendship mechanic ruins the game and the pleasure of seeing someone struggling during these rematches. I enjoyed watching it, but the bullshit came out absolutely more times than needed(Maylene's match: 3 Consecutive activations. I would turn off the game for that).
Otherwise, like @Captain Blue said, it would be funny to set the interaction at the same level for us trainer and the IA: even if Cynthia with Friendship mechanic would be "bullshit", she would be funny to confront with. Just to feel the win even more worth and "conquered". I heard many many many people talking about the disappointment felt in winning just because the friendship mechanic saved them in a clutch moment.
And even if this rematches are played with a HUGE level gap(not a fan of that), without friendship mechanic comes out to save the day...it's not funny at all and, by this, they are the evidence of the bullshit and all xD
Hashirama and Luffy make their grand Sinnoh return in these remakes. They've come a long way since your classic DP videoes :D

Why not? Pelliper’s a better rain setter than Electrode. It has Drizzile, after all.
@@darkraiknight386 pelipper is definitely the best rain setter in singles since unlike the other drizzle users it has uturn to pivot out allowing its rain abusers to get on the field safely.

Sunnyshore is also a seaside town/city so I thought it represented the seagulls or marine birds that hang around the place.
First the character customization, now rematches against the Gym Leaders...
I missed these two features in OR/AS, and these "remakes" have both of them :'v

ORAS really should have had both of those features & I'm still kind of disappointed with the new games. I was hoping for more from the Customization feature than we ended up getting & I was also hoping for some forms & Pokemon not featured in the original game. Maybe we'll get DLC or features unlocked from Legends Arceus or the Wifi Event Items next year? At least Secret Key for Rotom Forms wasn't an event item like the Azure Flute, Oak's Letter, & Member's Pass this time.

OHOHOHO!!!!! These games just solidified Fantina as one of my FAVORITE Gym Leaders, Ghost-Type users, and characters in general!!!
Man, they really wasted the opportunity to give Gardenia a Leafeon, didn't they?
The friendship system is so broken and annoying...
at first it was optional
now the only way to remove it is by using the bitter medicines
and since return is gone there's really no punishment for using them if you want a challenge
No its not. Without it its bloody impossible. I want a full sweep not a challenging fight

I still don't understand why they didn't have them. That honestly hurt more than the battle frontier because coding rematches should've been relatively easy...
@@seraphinw1 coding isn't a problem just like it wasn't for the Frontier.
I miss EV training in Gen 6 honestly. It was so quick & got our pokemon optimized & we could use the white bags to wipe their Stat board clean & start fresh
SWSH had that in mind in the DLC with Lady Clean in the IoA who also serves to wipe EVs given to mons.

Edit: Doesn’t even have Rock Head so will faint to recoil on 2-3 turns no matter what
Crasher Wake was my hardest. I technically ended that match in a draw but had a max revive on the last turn and used it and his last one fainted from my sandstorm as did mine

@CrimsonCowl not with all the gyms, some you just walk up to the leader from what I understand
Candice’s Rematch will make you fear Frostlass. Snow Cloak is a deadly weapon. If you don’t have a Gastrodon which knows Rain Dance or any water Pokémon which can learn it via Tm or a rare one which learns it via leveling up.
I can't wait to play my favorite game again!!!!

You know as much as I love the new teams . I really wish you could turn off the exp share cause it doesn't feel fine when your pokemon are 10 levels higher than the opponent
The exp share is not the problem the exp distribution is, the exp share being a permanent thing is to keep up with how modern jrpg tend to have a all party exp share, pokemon is basically casual Jrpg is not like SMT and will never will be it is meant for casual with some competitive aspects.
If they make the exp distribution like BW or US&UM where they balance the exp depending on your team level that where it can be challenging. But using guess it will never happen since the core audience is casual

Same! It gets boring using the starter mon for all battles cause everyone levels up at the same time
Rewatching this, I loved how years later Gamefreak would make Luxray have a pounce position during battle, Lucario would get a fight stance, etc. They also made the their Pokémon have their actual heights where they are either bigger or smaller than the rest. This game was a nice experience to play imo, but I’m just saying that Game freak truly improved Pokémon’s animation and height differences over the years.
I underleveled my Pokémon by skipping a lot of trainers so all my Pokémon were 5 levels lower than Cynthia’s Garchomp and I went to rematch Roark as soon as I could. I was not prepared.
Son, you made some of these battles harder than what they should have been. Types are a thing....

they can be, especially if you play the game with no desire to EV-train or build your mons competitively. I wanted a casual playthrough for my first time with this remake and just used mons I always liked or found cool (which is why I ended up with 2 water types and 2 dragon types in one team, which doesn't bode well for anyone trying to cover type weaknesses lol).
I didn't bother EV-training or even finding the right nature, just wanted to have fun and enjoy the remake of my favorite gen ever. I played in set mode and made sure not to overlevel by scaling back or boxing my "main team" if I felt they were getting too high-leveled. All the NPCs and first gym leader rounds were easy enough, and then I got to the E4.
I couldn't remember if Aaron was difficult back then on DPPT but the first member of the E4 is usually a pushover so I didn't expect much...and then, bam, they throw me a Heracross with a Flame Orb with a gratuitious level curve.
The game went from Level 1 difficulty to Level 5 and I both loved and hated it so much lmao
@@dallasbernieri9156 He's said it before, he doesn't go tryhard in the videos so he can showcase each gym leader. It wouldn't make for a very interesting video if he just swept everyone without them being able to use any moves
They all start using true competitive teams.
Looks like GAME FREAK already made these teams by themselves from observing competitive tournaments and told ILCA inc. to put these teams into the Gym leader rematches. 200 IQ.

Infernape vs Electivire at the end and Infernape beating Electivire with Flare Blitz was pretty cool cause that's how it happened on the show lol!

I wish the little anime perks we get from affection could be dialed back a bit sometimes or just turned off. Guess I need to get my team to hate me lol for added challenge.

So glad these rematches came back, but damn that friendship system is so annoying. Torterra would have taken so many OHKOs by the ice attacks (pelliper’s ice beam, ice fang by steelix). Like the game is already so easy in the case of leveling e.g., why destroying the new challenge given by the rematches with the friendship system even more …
Damn, bond mechanic is such a big equalizer made for the rematches.
You are way overleveled dude that way is a piece of cake (Also friendship sucks, I know is not optional but it ruins the game)

Great vid and all but I just have to comment about those move sets of your pokemon, they could be better and your choice of moves and type matchups.
A bit weird how both Fantina and Candice have a Froslass. Surely there was another Ghost Type they could have given Fantina?
I think they gave maylene and gardenia both a breloom too. I would have been fine with maylene having machamp or gardenia getting leafeon
Fantina should have had: Mismagius, Gengar, Drifblim, Spiritomb, Dusknoir, & Banette and Candice should have kept the froslass

After the national pokedex is obtained you just go to the gym

Gym Leaders are Boss Battles
Roark sends out Tyranitar with Steath Rocks. Oh sh*t is going down!! This man is serious!
He also Runs roar to on his Pokémon as well in his first rematch. His Roar chip damage Stealth rock strategy is cruel.
It is really painful to watch, even more painful when you know Mixeli is a rather good strategic player. He purposely plays badly to add tension in the match. I wish someday he will switch the battle combat to Set instead of Choose, so he doesn't need to play dumb to make the battle more epic.
How did you get a shiny starter?
The fact that you're Garchomp doesn't have a decent dragon move hurts my brain so much. And Why is your Torterra the only Level 60 pokemon?

This is ridiculous. Challenging Byron and his Aggron...AGGRON...is FASTER than my Infernape who's currently 76 spd 229 Jolly Nature! Not only that but also challenged Bertha again and her Golem is faster than Milotic...how?! They're supposed to be slow as hell.

This flippin’ friend/affection combined is horrendous. I know you tend to play these matches out to an extent so we get chance to see a good battle but there were so many times that you’d have gone down if the Pokémon hadn’t ‘held out so you don’t feel sad’ or ‘avoided the move in times with your shout’.
