Hi all! I've been very busy on a large ongoing upcoming project, and as a result I decided on a small (but very enjoyable) restoration on these lovely old drawer pulls. I hope you enjoy the video, and as always, thanks for watching :)
Brother, I just found you channel via mister Patina, and I’m so happy I did. I love the turn of the century metal work like this so detailed it’s honestly a work of art and to see it restored it’s very satisfying. I’m subbed!
@@mykeg2401 Hey man, I appreciate the kind words! It’s amazing how many awesome hardware related items like these pulls were made back in the day. There are so many different shapes and designs, all of which are just lovely! Welcome aboard, and thank you very much for watching!
Haha right, they really need to have the perfect location to be installed. I definitely will be continuing on with my hardware restoration video spree I've been on hahaha. Thanks a lot for watching!
I grew up in the house my great-grandfather built in 1900. Our house had many similar lock sets an such. They had all been painted over in the decades before I showed up. Seeing them how they looked new is really cool.
Very cool, though it's a shame all the hardware had been painted over! It's definitely really cool to see how items like these looked while new. Thanks a lot for watching!
Oh my gosh! These are my kitchen bin pulls! Exactly. Nice to know what they can look like when restored. After I remove the paint from the screws and actually remove them....
Very cool, Maura! They're definitely gorgeous little pulls - It sounds like someone did you a great disservice and painted over yours haha. Thanks a lot for watching!
Those are gorgeous. I like that you left the fine finished one all bronze. I also liked the polished silver finish. I think that would have looked really nice with the black background too. Beautiful work.
Thank you! I reckon it's nice to have a comparison between painted and unpainted variants. Polished silver does go really well with black recessed areas - I did up a couple latches a long time ago in a silver/black finish and they looked quite nice. Thanks a lot for watching!
Haha well it was a lot of sanding/polishing/painting, but it was well worth it in the end! I appreciate the kind words, thank you very much for watching!
Thanks a lot, Adrienne! Haha yeah things like sanding are very time consuming to get good results, but it's well worth it in the end. Thanks for watching!
Husband being a mechanic uses brake clean all the time for everything including wasp nests on and around the house. When it came up as beak clean I laughed way harder than I should have. My husband says what is so funny and I showed him he got a little giggle not near as big of a laugh as I did. About a minute ago I heard him say to one of our sons use brake clean on it. And I couldn't help myself.... I said no it's beak clean and we both laughed and our son looked at us like we're crazy.... That was a well-needed laugh! The handles look phenomenal and I love them!
Hahaha thanks for the comment, Tracy! A while back I was typing the on screen text for a video and misspelled it as beak cleaner - I got such a good chuckle at it that I not only left it, but that’s just what I call it these day hahaha. Thanks a lot for watching!

Awesome, Jake! Im sure it’ll take a huge amount of time for you to go through it all and clean it up a bit, but it will be well worth it in the end! As always, thanks for watching!
The collection is coming along nicely so far! It’s only taken six or so months to get them all restored though hahaha. Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it 😁
I appreciate it, man! I’m slowly getting enough for a while set of doors if you can believe it - It’s only taken six or so months hahaha. Oh yeah they’ll be a perfect match for it 😆 Thanks a lot for watching!

Some people search for years to locate what you have. I am looking forward to the time you can show us how they look on a door, cabinets, etc.
Thanks a lot! It usually takes quite some time to hunt down full sets of hardware, but it’s worth it in the end! One day I’ll definitely install some of these items properly in a door and show it off on camera. Like always, thanks a lot for watching!

Right, it's incredible how basic just about everything looks these days.
