After reading a handful of comments, it seems there are other methods which may be a lot less work! Thanks for the input everyone, I'd love to hear your thoughts on your experiences so we can share this info with one another. My axle had 2 broken boots so I needed to change it and it this was my reason for pulling the alternator out from the bottom.

Thanks for the video. I just did this to my 1994 Del Sol VTEC with factory B16. I removed the axle but not the half shaft. Then removed the lower alt bracket, and it came out fine that way. I even have the factory manual, and it just tells you how to remove the alternator bolts and then says "remove alternator" lol.
Thank god. I recently bought a b20b crx with a bad alternator. Love your videos. You always come in clutch with great content. I always learn something after one of your videos.
My friend installed an alternator for my b16 crx yesterday. We had to moved the Master cylinder, and fuel line out of the way, it was a tight fit but worked.
Awesome simple video Jon... your method is simple and safe way to replace the Alt, yes is a couple of extra steps from pulling the MC to the side but say with bad luck you damage a brake line and can’t see it, i would hate to find out the hard way on my EF hatch on a Sunday cruise with my wife n kids on board.... awesome safe simple video! too short doe only 6 min, now i have to help the wife wash dishes!!
@@GarageBuiltHondas Garage Built Hondas Hey bro. I am looking for a OG 4 spoke steering wheel for my 91 civic sedan. Would you possibly know anyone that has one in good condition for sell? Thanks in advance...
Too much work just unbolt the brake master (2 bolts in the booster) and push it to the side (you will not hurt your hard brake lines if your gentle) , and then the alternator will slide right out the top. Way easier than removing the ball joint and axle.
Thanks for the input! I've heard about doing it this way but wasn't 100% sure. My axle had 2 busted boots after the last track day so I needed to change it, thus I pulled the alternator this way. Next time I have to change an alternator I'm going to try this method.
i did mine twice same day, because 1st one was bad, you dont need ro remove the axle, it came up from the top next to master cilinder, if you have power steering, remove the high pressure line, unbolt alternator, unbolt alternator bracket and it came easy
Garage Built Hondas I’m still watching the videos just being on the silent side! I usually remove the brake master cylinder from the booster here in the rust belt for alternator replacement. I’ll text you soon!
I have always just removed the hose from the fuel pressure regulator pull off a alternator bracket and maybe another bracket from the intake. It will make it out with whole thousands of an inch to spare.
Did that on the DA9 Integra GS it’s a pain in the neck because me and my uncle where dumb enough to wash the engine and forgot to cover the alternator and also I heard the Integra 94 and Honda Civic 94 and the 94 CRX / Del Sol is simply squeeze the alternator out on top also do a how to drive a stage 3 clutch in a daily drive lol
Well you beat me to. I was going to comment about the same thing. I've had my 91 for 30 years. Like you said take the bracketoff his slide right out no Axle removal
Not sure on space, but I turn wheel left, remove splash guard, loosen off alternator as you do, plus bracket...then slip it out thru left wheel well, no axle work...food for thought
Quick question, which ball joint seperator are you using? Also after 3 years (oof) my ef sedan is ready to roll out of my garage restored with a gbh gold sticker on it 👍👍
Great content!! I’m about to start my b swap into my 90 crx and I am wondering if your ef is lowered and if there is any issue with the crank pulley hitting the radius rod? Or is there a certain amount it can be lowered without doing damage to the radius rod? I also plan to use the full-race traction bar if that matters
No. DC intermediate shaft is a male. DA intermediate shaft is a female. You'll need a DC driver axle if using the DC intermediate shaft, and the same for DA. Basically whichever intermediate shaft you have, you need that driver axle.
hey man great video I have. a question my fuel pump. has. not enough pressure and is. brand new what you think can be the issue or how can I fix it thanks. keep up with those videos

Slammed cars with cheap mounts have issues. Stay away from both and you're good.
Garage Built Hondas thanks
No prob, good luck!
I've tooken it out by the intake manifold near the throttle body didn't need to pull out the axle or anything just a puzzle wiggling it out
Thanks for the input. With a B swap you were able to?
can you do a tour of your garage and how you organize your tools and what tools you feel are indispensable?
I could maybe do that. I wouldn't want it to be boring though.
Will 94-01 Acura integra intermediate shaft work with 90-93 integra CV shafts in a b series swap for a CRX

Does your alt pully not hit the frame?
No

Hasport
@@GarageBuiltHondas does that include the mount from the trans to the front cross member?
No. You don't need that mount when using Hasport.
I just pulled my fuel rail it was easier

Just take off the fuel rail and top alternator bracket
👍
No need to take the fork off just slide the axle threw it...
I forgot u was taking the intermediate shaft off too.... your right
I've seen this done by just removing the T-Bracket.

Bothem ? Hehe

Too much work imo. If you can get the right angle, you can remove it from the top. Doing it this way, you will need to pry the fuel rail out a little.
