    Awesome videos guys safety is what I recommend and step by step enjoyed the video and also man never seen anyone or thought of using a hoist to lift the car up that's safe and clever.

  • @coreymoto
    @coreymoto 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Call me late to the party I had no idea about the hoist back to lift the car instead of trying to tilt and get it out from the top I am just flabbergasted by that I only assumed you needed a car lift like in shops to do that. Holy crap🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️gonna make swaps so much easier now thank you

  • @jordan7275
    @jordan7275 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I find it easier to do leave the grounds attached to the engine, just disconnect the one end from the chassis. And to drain all fluids after the shift linkage, and everything is disconnected besides pulling the axles (since you’d leak trans fluid) heater core hoses will always piss on the ground. I hate working with a wet floor haha

      Only thing different will be the ecu the harness will differ a bit since the gsr has the iab system & b16 does not but besides those things everything is the same

    Might be a dumb question but how did u get the harness connectors off that metal bracket? MIne are rusted in and will not budge at all

    • @tiebei2548
      @tiebei2548 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I know it's three years later but I will respond in case someone else needs it: You put a tiny flathead and lift up lightly and then shake it back and forth, ease it out. They are very hard, you have to wiggle it side to side with a lot of force. Make sure you have a firm grip on the connector so you don't pull the wires out. It was a major pain to figure that out, and they take the connectors off of the brackets because you will never get them off otherwise from what I can tell.

    What's the most cost effective way to increase the performance of a b16a2 but keeping it NA? If I was to swap the block for a gsr one with type r pistons and cams, would that be what they call a poor man's type r? And would my tranny work?

    • @kaidokingz316
      @kaidokingz316  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your going for the cheapest go with a b20b block with your b16a2 head it be much faster than a poor man's type r

    12:07 Should show where to put the jack under the motor as to not crush the oil pan.

    • @XxARM3DGAM3RxX
      @XxARM3DGAM3RxX 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Punisher I think you can jack it up with a flat piece of wood

    • @mightiestcarmods7954
      @mightiestcarmods7954 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you support it with a jack until you loosen the lower mounts and get the chains on, then the jack comes out dolly goes in, loosen the upper mounts and land the motor onto it. Raise the Shell using tow hooks and Move it out of the way (since wheels are still in place). Then Bring the new Rolling shell and land it over the Motor using the engine crane, and follow the exact process in reverse order to swap. It is always good to sort the Interior looms and ECU wiring before mounting back the Motor (mainly for convenience, space wise). Correct me if I was wrong !

    Most stupid way to take an engine out, the legs of the crane get in the way so you can't wheel it out. I needed to take off the intake manifold and distributor with the car in the air to get it out. Notice how they didn't show them getting it out from under the car?
