  • @themurrrr

    I have one complaint.
    The bit where you show off the final product is way too short and hasty 🥺
    Coulda bit a bit longer so we can all get a chance to properly ooooh and ahhhhh at it.

    Just made one for a minecraft sword from setee leather so was worried it was too thin, doubled it on the sword hoops so shiny side in as well and it worked amazingly well. the angle of the sword on the belt was perfect for artificialy pixilated outline. The lightweight leather and sword weight matched so nicely for a child. Thanks for inspiring.

    Won't the sword cut away at the leather over time when you unsheathe it? Or is it not sharp? Just something I noticed.

    • @DarkHorseWorkshop
      @DarkHorseWorkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In theory if you were walking around with a sharp sword it would be in a scabbard that's cinched or laced into it. I just wanted something simple for people to use. The loop can be adjusted to friction fit a scabbard or people can modify it to have laces or buckles to tighten onto a scabbard. I'll be doing a short additional video that modify's this pattern to do that kind of thing that has both lacing and buckled options. :)

    I’m still in the obsessively researching and starting to gather tools and supplies part of my journey into leather craft : question - when you go around the pattern to “carve” it, are you actually cutting into the leather ? Or you are just pushing the pattern into the leather ?

    • @DarkHorseWorkshop
      @DarkHorseWorkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never had a problem with it really, I'd wonder what "doesn't burnish" means specifically... I wanted smooth edged I got smooth edges, maybe they resist a bit more and so the dye on the edge doesn't get locked down as well? Hmmm.... more investigation is warranted.
