I wondered right away when you dry started it that you didn’t add oil. I don’t believe they ship motors with oil in them for many reasons. Sometimes it pays to slow down and read the manual before any damage is done. Always enjoy your energy and enthusiasm in your videos.
You guys are clueless. 4 stroke needs oil. Gearcase needs oil. There is no reverse, you turn the motor around. The throttle is not a cruise control. All tiller motors I've ever seen, do not work like a motorcycle, but throttle stays where you put it. It sounds like a lawnmower because it's air cooled.

Cool motor man. I’ve been eyeballing a slightly smaller unit. The smaller one has a lower unit that looks more like an outboard and less like just a pipe. I keeping looking at it and thinking “how big of a motor could I put on there”. Like if the bolt patterns are all the same for every horizontal shaft motor up to a certain size, I would try to find an old lawnmower with like a broken self propel system to rip the motor off of. My goal for this motor would be saltwater so swapping the engine to one like Honda or Briggs would make me feel more comfortable. Side note it sounds like the throttle could use some adjustment. I hear probably 6 clicks before the rpm picks up. Maybe a poor adjustment means it also isn’t going full throttle and you may be able to get even more speed out of it. Cool video man.
I am a musician. Make sure not to have your audio gain too high there is distortion when you are on the water. better luck next time. thanks for previewing this motor
Look at the current crop of lawnmowers, snowthrowers, tillers. So many are now powered by Powermore, Predator engines, and they do just fine. Even Chinese motorcycles have really good engines on them.
