my struggle has been not understanding the word and what to read daily. when i use to go to church i never really enjoyed it because i never understood my pastor sermon. my mom would ask me if i enjoyed service and i would tell her how i felt about not being able to understand what was going on during service. it frustrated me because i wanted to learn and understand the way they did I know that there’s other services/ churches i could go to and hear the word, i know that this is my journey and my relationship with God that i am trying to build. I am just trying to understand where do i start from. I am trying not to use but in this comment because i know that relay me into giving an excuse theres no excuse for my absence. i know where to start at from my basics it seems like i have a few things to talk with God about, i also know that this was a main struggle of mines when i was going to church on a somewhat regular basis that was no reason for me to stir away though. Thank you for this video your encouragement and break down thank you thank you thank you. my comment may seem a bit off but i type the way i talk and i know it may not make sense to some or most. Trying to do better with that as well
Have you heard of the Bible Project channel on youtube? I have problems understanding the bible for a whole bunch of reasons, my mind just feels so muddled when I try to read it sometimes. But that channel has helped me understand it so much in this season. I would recommend and I'll be praying for you! Much love :)
I never comment on videos but I really felt something when I read your message. I agree with Kristine, the bible project is really good! It goes through each chapter of the bible and general biblical concepts. I found the bible much easier to get into once I understood the overarching themes that ran through the bible. Also maybe the translation of the bible you are reading makes it harder? I prefer new living translation or good news translation as they are less wordy. Sometimes if I really struggle I play the passage out loud on the bible app , switch/compare translations and look up interpretations of the verse. I hope these things help you.
Hey I've also been having that issue like others said The Bible Project (both their youtube channel and podcast) have been helpful. Additionally, She Reads Truth / He Reads Truth is really good, the have studies on a lot of the books in the bible. I tend to read the passage they mention and the commentaries in both the She Reads Truth and He Reads Truth website just because they look at it from different angles. Best of all these resources are all free. Maybe also try reading books specifically on areas of life you are needing help in, some by pastors you already know and like such as T.D. Jakes or Joyce Meyer that are easy to understand.
explainingthebook.com is a great website for commentaries. They don't have on every chapter of the bible but on the one that they do, it's quite good. On what to read, The Bible Recap by Tara-Leigh Cobble is a one year reading plan of the bible in a chronological order which is great as a guide on what exactly to read. Another approach is through choosing bible stories that are popular or that you know of and choosing to focus on or understand them. For example, I'm currently focusing of a few parables and have found sermons on them here on TH-cam (Real Life with Jack Hibbs) and it's been eye opening. Also pray to the Holy Spirit to guide and speak to you as you study the bible. Hope this helps ❤️
I often feel my tears brings me closer to God than my words. And also just asking the Lord to look at my heart and see what I want to say because I can’t find the words.
What really helped for me is reading, studying and UNDERSTANDING the word of God. I used to read the word and not really know what was going on, I'd have the gist and that's it. Its important to really get into the word of God and digest it so that it becomes part of you. It is hard to have a relationship with someone you don't know. The best way to get to know God is through HIS word, the word that HE gave us. Love you brothers and sisters ❤
Around the 17 minute mark, I just felt something enter me and I just started saying thank you God thank you God. I felt so alive and willing to pray and repent and express my desire to draw closer to Him. Never felt that before

Honestly it has been years since I have had a good relationship with God and even when I try I would always joke with myself saying this prayer is going to hit the ceiling and come right back down. Like you said there is this feeling of unworthiness that overcomes you every time you try to move forward and I am still struggling. However, I don't know how to ended up in my feed but I am grateful because I really needed this and I will adopt that point of asking for the desire to prayer, read the bible etc. I love it.!
This video is so timely, ive been struggling because of sin and thinking ugh God probably hates me and is plugging his ears to me. Even the desire of reading the bible not being there and thinking my bible/ devotion time doesnt look like my favorite youtubers devotion time ( candles, journaling , cofee, butterflies in my stomach *eyeroll* )has made me struggle, but im so encouraged now. I need God he is my life source and im going to take the baby steps and come to him just as I am .Thank you hun, be blessed.

I have be struggling to focus, to simply sit down and read anything, i went from being able to read three books a day to barely making it through a chapter. Ive been trying to fast but my lack of focus makes it difficult as not knowing what do after i finish reading the devotional I have been reading on The bible app, I want to be closer to God but I don’t know how to regain my focus so i can study and pray.

I have missed your videos soooo much. I have been exactly where you have touched upon. Last year I felt like a whole failure due to circumstances. I felt myself slipping spiritually many times. At crossover service I prayed to surrender and drawn near to God. I have been in relationship but I will say I have struggled with the mindset if I miss one day of reading the word or prayer not sounding right I’ve failed God. I also noticed I have been comparing myself to fellow Christian’s and during this social distancing time I’m releasing and telling God to help me with all of this. I feel at peace and know I am Gods work in progress and I don’t want to be ashamed. My life is His and He alone knows how it’s all going to play out. Thank you for this video I remember when I restarted my relationship with Christ it was one of your videos that helped me. And now it’s this video again that is going to help me

The thing I'm worried about is judgment day and that the relationships I have with other people will stop me from going to heaven
