Gentlemen: As someone who owns two Davis tents always get a larger tent. Having space for tables, cots, kitchen, and hunting gear/items will quickly consume smaller floor plans. I have a Davis from 2008 and 2015. Both are excellent and they handle storms in wilderness areas. One of tents went through our Labor Day storm at 7500 feet in Idaho during 2020 elk with snow, hail, high winds. Performance was usual: outstanding. If you are a newbie from back East to hunt big country out west just read these words: This tent is the best. Trust me! Do not invest in a cheap tent. Wasting your cash! Customer service is great and they are family owned and operated
I bought a 10 x 12 from Davis a few years ago. The only thing that I wish was different is that it's a 10 x 12 and I'd like about 2 feet more length. And Kent actually recommended a little bit larger one. Wish I had listened to him. But the 10 x 12 is great too. I got the sewn in floor also and also prefer that style. I somehow end up setting up in sandy or dusty ground. I have two stove jacks and a rear window. All screened. With the storm door. I just recently re-discovered an old oil burning heater (that exhausts to the exterior) that I used in my previous wall tent and plan on setting it up in the snow soon to see how it works in this tent. Again, the sewn in floor will be a benefit. Fun stuff. A good tent that survived a dandy snow storm in Wyoming.

We just bought the Davis 16x20, around the same time you did (April 2019). We put it up this summer and love it! It’s big! But we have a large family. We just got a tarp for the top recently, still deciding on how to fit it over the stovepipe.
Nice video my Friend. To be frank you Mentioned the Manufacturer way to many times. It felt like a Promo. You should have also noted that many folks should but a cover tarp or Rain Fly to help for a lone term placement. Sunforger is the best material I have seen. Also and key what was or is the weight per sq ft of the Canvas. That determines a key element in terms of quality in the long run. We are buying 16 total wall tents for a Glamping Resort, so we have taken a lot of time to compare Many tents. Good luck Hunting.
I believe this is the size Davis Tents calls their standard size, or most popular. About how long are the longest frame poles? I am guessing like 8 or 9 feet for the rafter poles? Get the bigger one. Especially if its a few guys. By the time you get cots and gear set up. Its better to have more room than not enough. IMO Thanks for watching

Hello Thanks for watching and commenting. The poles are the exact same. It’s just electrical conduit. It would just be a lot more to ship the poles instead of buying them and cutting them yourself.
How much did you spend roughly on the conduit? I'm trying to decide if I want to just buy the frame or if I should build it myself if it saves some money

Would have been much longer with a saw saw or porta band. ( but easily doable in a few hours ) Hope this helps and good luck.

Yes. It’s 1 inch EMT. Which I bought myself at a local electrical supply warehouse. Seems to be plenty heavy duty enough. I wouldn’t want anything heavier duty. If I was worried about snow load at some point I would just buy more angles and add more EMT. Hope this is helpful. Thanks

Just curious what the benefit is it doing your own poles aren't there poles a little better quality??
