Easy going at first but loved the variation in the terrain and those bridges, I didn’t expect to see so many people at the view point but glad you made it and had a lovely day, shame the tunnel was blocked off and there was no other way back 🚶🏻💦🚶♀️💦
Yes, we were a bit surprised to see so many people up there at the view point, probably hanging around longer than usual marvelling at the view🏔️😀 cheers...Andy&Michelle
Wow, that is so scary. In 2006 we walked from the car park along the valley to the face of Franz Josef glacier and stood and listened to it creaking. We saw lumps of ice splashing into the water which was coming from beneath the face. In just 17 years it’s receded that much!!
I can see you enjoyed your stay on the West Coast and the tramp to the fast retreating glacier. I agree the helicopters are a pain but that is modern tourism. Been there, done that.
Thanks Paul, yes - really enjoyed our time on the West Coast and we were in one of the helicopters a few days earlier in Hokitika so can't really complain! 😀 cheers...Andy&Michelle
To see Glow Worms, the light source has to subtle. Te Anau had glow worm caves. The light force has to be controlled. When the business, and culture aspects are taken in to account, normal photography may not be as successful as tourists want.
Thanks Pamela, we did see a whole lot of glow worms as we travelled , and turned the lights off! 😀 I wasn't sure what you meant with taking the business and culture aspects into account? but I'm interested to understand 😀

Hi Andy, Michelle, nice to see you both at the show today, my wife was miffed she didn’t get chance to say hello. Thanks for the photo. Lee.

Wow Wow Wow, stunning scenery, not sure about the wet feet tunnel bit though 😆
We weren't sure about the wet feet experience either! 🤣 there was a lot of squelching on out way back! cheers...Andy&Michelle

Oh wow, such a shame it has receded so much. We did think the Roberts Point viewing platform was a long was from the Glacier.
well, the tunnels were a real relationship tester! :)
Yes...Thankfully were still married!! 🤣

“At least you’ll have clean shoes” classic😂
Had to find a positive somewhere! 🤣
After that Michelle I hope he bought you a big drink and large cake. ❤
This is Andy we are talking about, no cake but I absolutely poured myself an extra large Aperol when we got back to the van! 😀
