THIS is the original version of Adagio. Dimash is a huge fan of Lara's .... which is probably why he chose to use this song in the Chinese competition...The Singer. He did it well. ..but Lara does it far better, IMHO.
She didnt had the american and British media, that are the ones that rules the world.
But she is perfect. Sing dynamic, power, softness, technique, multiples languages fluently (including 3 - Italian, French, russian- of the top 5 most beautiful languages - Italian, French, Russian, portuguese and spanish)
That's the original of the song and despite I love Dimash , Lara is from another Universe..Such a control over the voice is just unbelievable..You can not just hear every word, you can feel.it..Dimash has still much to learn but he is a young guy and will have his time.

Lara Fabian - Perdere L'amore.
Adagio in G Minor is credited to Tomaso Albinoni (1671-1751), a Venetian baroque composer who wrote at least 81 operas as well as many instrumental works. Unfortunately, much of his music was lost during the bombing of Dresden in 1945. Since then many musicologists have had to reconstruct his lost music from fragments of it found in Dresden archives. Musicologist, music critic and composer Remo Giazotto was trying to systematically catalogue Albinoni's works, and asked the Saxon State Library of Dresden to send him the scraps of what was left of Albonini's “Trio Sonata”. From only the bassline found in the slow part of the trio and a few fragments of melody, Giazotto magically constructed the Adagio from what survived the World War II bombings. Today Lara Fabian sings a lyrical version.

She is part Italian. She sings Adagio in Italian as well. She has been visiting Italy often. She is married to an Italian man. Her mothet was Italian and she speaks Italian fluently.
This is original, Lara wrote the lyrics and than translated it into Italian.
Lara Fabian has the best and most beautiful voice, she have sung many timeless songs in Italian, English and French Languages.

I always find it funny when people say Lara reminds people of Celine Dion. Celine is a great singer. Lara calls herself a writer who can sing. She actually wrote the lyrics to this in Italian, then in English. She also writes in French and Spanish, and sings in about a dozen languages.

Lara Fabian was one of Dimash's idols by the time he was 12 and she was a 24 year old superstar. Lara's musical director was Igor Krutoy who became Dimash's musical director in 2019. Also. At age 25, Dimash finally met Lara when they sang "Ti Amo Cosi" at a big sporting event. Lara was one of 3 co-writers of "Adagio" & she wrote the lyrics to Dimash's song "Your Love."
If Dimash was 25 in 2019, Lara was 49. So she is virtually twice his age. She could not have been 24 when he was 12. When she was 24 Dimash had not yet been born!
Igor Krutoy was never the musical director for Lara Fabian (*1970) and not for Dimash (*1994) either. Both singers are independent and from time to time work with Igor Krutoy, create new songs and be friends with Igor. Dimash met Lara at Igor Krutoy's birthday event. There Lara and Dimash sang a trio with Aida Garifullina 'Ti Amo Cosi', a song that Igor composed (Ice dancing, yes but no sporting event).

@@tirallala1 Thanks for correcting my information. I do know that Dimash refers to Erlan Bekchurin as his musical director. I used that term incorrectly about Igor Krutoy. My main point to these people reacting is that Dimash idolized Lara Fabian, and that he had met her. I'm a big fan of both artists, but I don't want to spread incorrect things about them.

Thank you for the captions. The important thing with Lara is to always watch the live performances, where she shines. In particular, her concert « From Lara with love ». The same as the Adagio you just watched. Many of her videos also have versions with subtitles.

Lara Fabian is for sure a better singer overall, her voice is so beautiful and crystal clear, but Dimash is most likely most of the times very pushy it is not possible to relaxing listening Dimash, but when you do hear Lara's voice even when she talks is a blessing for my ears.

Welcome to Lara's world. The best singer\songwriter\performer of the last 30 years. She resurrected this old song and wrote lyrics for it. Always choose live with Lara...you ladies probably know that but it needs to said. "Broken Vow" is going to ruin your day. "Perdere L’amore" is a powerhouse masterclass level of song and performance, in perfect Italian, that you will not be able to get out of your head (effortless perfection). "Mademoiselle Hyde" written by Lara and Igor Krutoy (pick the live version from 2016 with Igor at the piano) is, lets say, a slightly more mature version of Lara slaying a beautiful, intriguing, kind of sexy weird song with an almost Arabic feel...killer Lara. "Caruso", another great Italian classic, is flawless and my favorite version of the song ever done including Pavarotti (and that is really saying something). You are entering into Lara's world and you will not come back.
One more thing, your comments on how effortless this looks is spot on. Very well said. She makes it look sooooo easy. It is not.

Lara Fabian.....I fell in love with her singing the first time I heard her in 1995 when I lived in Belgium. She competed in Eurovision 1988 and took 4th place behind the overall winner, Celine Dion (who was not even European, but hey -- that's business).
Lara is a native of Belgium, not Italy, although she lived in Italy for some years as a girl before returning to Belgium. She moved to Canada for a while and got Canadian citizenship but that was an effort to enlarge her presence in a world dominated by Dion. Overall, I'd much rather listen to Lara than Celine. Please react to Je Suis Malade next, from the same concert.

33 seconds into the reaction and I had to tell you girls that Adagio is Lara Fabian's song! She wrote it based off of Adagio in G minor, attributed to Tomaso Albinoni, composed by Remo Giazotto....it was a classical piece that Lara recreated! Recomposed it to a pop song and she wrote the lyrics to it! Anyone else you hear singing this song, is doing a cover of her song!....ok...back to the reaction...
Ok...nice reaction just realize she didn't interpret the song because it is her song. Also, she sings this song in Italian....you may be interested to check that out. Hello, I strongly recommend her song "I'm sick" as well as the live version of Paris for the song "I love you" where all the love of her audience is unheard of for a singer and of course with the subtitles!
It is her song, not that of Dimash, she wrote the words. If perfection exists in this world, Lara's song embodies it! She received classical education which explains her incredible vocal technique!
