Mazda isn’t reliable when it comes to build quality
5 ปีที่แล้ว +5
@andydguitar true but not true. They're both shit brands I used to lease a 2015 Nissan Rouge, that was the year they did the redesign on the rouge. Let me tell you that car was the biggest piece of shit. The ride is so shit you feel every bump and a lot of shit broke in the interior, overall a shit car and a shit brand and I say the same for Mazda.
@@appletree4433 Mazda's build quality has improved but they're not nearly as reliable as most Hondas. Unless you're buying an Odyssey or an Element, Hondas are better than Mazdas. Hondas have stronger engines even than Toyota on average. Mazda's quality is more comparable to Kia's or Hyundai's. The Skyactiv VVT engines in the new Mazdas are notorious for breaking and burning oil, and their transmissions are a little on the weak side. They are better than Nissans though, I'll give them that.
I felt the EXACT same way when I bought my new Honda Accord last year. Didn’t wanna do it, did it, and then regretted it. I got over it eventually though luckily.
Ekule Nwaiku I disagree. But thanks for following up 3 months later to tell me that. 🤨 Worth noting I said it was paid off and that was comfortable - IE it was nice to not have a car payment.

I got a brand new Mazda last year. It was my dream car I wanted for years and I’m in love with it :) And I love your white SUV you picked. So happy for you!
honestly I'm the same way, I am so used to saving that when I have to spend a lot of money on something that is necessary I have to think about it over and over again and then feel crappy after I buy it. It's because our state of mind is to save. Even when you end up buying a house you're gunna feel this same way, because you are just giving away everything you saved and it feels wrong but that's the point of saving, to spend it on the stuff we were saving it for. It's nice to have nice things if you can afford it. It's all about balance, as long as you're not always a reckless spender and you save, it's okay to make a big purchase every now and then.
yea, your old car was still running. Should have just kept it until it no longer moved and needed a new transmission or engine. The snow thing can be fixed with a set of steel rims and actual winter tires for less than 1k
I love how independent you are. I am the same way. I also bought my first car not like everyone else around me who would get it through their parents. You are awesome! Thanks for you videos

It's been my experience that over the last 5-10 years, used car prices have gone up noticeably versus new car prices. I grew up with the same attitude to always buy used, let the first owner eat the depreciation, but I don't see the value proposition as much with the higher used prices. I think the best financial thing anyone can do is keep a car for 10+ years (assuming you don't drive an insane number of miles). If you keep a car for a long period of time, the cost differential between used and new becomes so small spread out over the life of the vehicle. Enjoy your new car!

Allan Desmond - true... someone Hass to buy it first in order for someone else to get it secondhand. And nowadays quite often the first purchaser is a person who leases it. So they get it brand new and only pay for the portion they used.
I work in the parts dept at Mazda & you will not regret it long term! The newer cx5s are great cars. I've personally had 2 mazdas and will continue to stay loyal. Congratulations on your Mazda!!!
Also you cheated yourself out of bomb ass credit buy paying for it in full. Should of put half down and then paid it off on the first payment. You're still buying it in full but your credit gets a serious boost from having a fully paid off "loan".
How long do you plan to keep this car? Like drive it till the wheels literally fall off & it dies? Or until it reaches a certain mileage And Then go get a new start over and get a new Car again?
We are totally on the same page! When I bought my car last year I just had this deep, GUT feeling that I did not want to finance. Everyone including my very wise parents told me financing would be better as far as establishing credit and such, but I couldn't stand the thought of having monthly payments hanging over me for years. And to this day I'm SO glad I trusted my own instinct. So refreshing that someone else feels the same way!
Liveta don’t regret so much you only live once & feeling like you can’t spend your money on some of the things that you need & want is really not worth saving & having money if you’re afraid to spend it & live.
Hey, love your video but I don’t know if it is my phone but in some parts of this video is fuzzy like goes black and white for a few seconds? Love the new car!
As someone who just paid off her car after years of payments- I’m glad you chose the new car. If the used car and new car were around the same price... they end up balancing out in the end. Used cars need maintenance, new cars are more expensive. In my opinion you made a great decision. These kinds of decisions are just so damn scary to make!! Love the white, the Mazda is so you 🤓
Don't ever buy a car you can't afford and usually your better off getting a toyota (or lexus) or honda (or acura). I'd stay away from other brands and make sure to go home and look up common problems with the particular model you want before you buy (I almost bought a 2015 Subaru until I found out they burn oil). I don't watch vlogs but I like car videos and this was in my recommended so thats my 2cents
@@disneyfan9099... You may think that's true, but (almost) all Infinities start life as a Nissan and that dooms them from the start. We had a 2004 Pathfinder (for 13 years) which was a fantastic vehicle, but some time after 2010-11 things started going south. Nissan's reliance on the cvt transmission was a bad one. Even joining forces with Renault has not improved things. Nissans - rental cars and nothing more. If Infiniti is great, why can't Nissan put more Infiniti into each Nissan? That would help out a lot.
The used dealership I went to completely detailed all of their vehicles. I can't believe they didn't clean it before your appointment! Aside from that, good for you girl! Be proud of your purchase!
Clancy, my fiancé and good friend both have the CX-5 (it’s also my dream car but I can’t afford it) and they LOVE IT. you won’t regret it in the deep winter months. I am also one to stick to ONLY used cars, but after my most recent experience with a used car for the last 3 years, I realized I spent more on repairs than I would financing on a new car. So...I recently got a new car as well and don’t regret it at all!! I am in need of a break from trips to the mechanic shop all the time. Girl, so happy for you!! I love Mazda’s.
This will be me in June when I get my Subaru. My dad owns it now and he’s loves the remote start. You seem hard working. You definitely needed the new car! It’s not like you bought a Lamborghini girl. Mazda is a smart purchase.
Clancy! You work hard, you’re very responsible-you deserve a new car! That’s part of what everyone works for. It’s achieving a goal. You should’t regret it at all.
Hi Clancy, I used to work at Nissan head office & we’d process the car loans. They had a lease program for the staff which we could drive a car for 6 months & then it would be sold as a “demo” at the dealer. I was there 5 years so I had several of the lease cars. But the only issue that came up with any of these cars (they were fresh off the boat) was one was low on oil - which was fixed straightaway. They were completely fine. So I tell people now just to buy a new car, to avoid any drama!!! Anybody who buys a used car ends up paying more than they expected at the mechanic.
I've had one of those for almost three years, and it's been totally fine. They are pretty good cars, so if you like it, awesome. I really don't agree that buying a new car is a terrible idea, many of us get a lot of enjoyment from driving a new car. There is a balance between being financially responsible and enjoying life. I mean you could live in a tiny shack and save every penny of your money your whole life, but what about life experience? There is also the peace of mind of a warranty, and everything being new; a lot of protections you don't get buying something older. What is a terrible idea is wandering clueless into a car dealership by accident and leaving with a new car. Many of those car salesmen are total sharks, and they will rip you off a million different ways if you are not armed with information. When you consider that buying a car is usually the second biggest financial decision after a home, in terms of purchases, it is insane to be making that kind of decision without facts. You have to research ratings, reviews, pricing, finance options and so on. I won't buy any car until I've taught myself more about it than the salesperson. I also watch a bunch of TH-cam videos made by former car sales people who tell you about all the many psychological and otherwise dirty tricks they use. I feel like you lucked out in choosing something that is a good car. But there are plenty of cars out there that feel nice, but are not good buys overall. Like an expensive used Rogue for example. I'm actually about to replace my CX-5 with a different vehicle. I went to look at a BMW i3 which can be a pre-owned bargain. Found one at a BMW dealer, they certified it which is supposed to mean it is the best of the best, meticulously restored to almost factory specs. It was a great looking car. But when I got home and checked the CarFax report it had been in a major accent, which was never disclosed. And rather conveniently the hyperlink to the Car Fax report was not working right on their website. If I'd failed to do my homework, I could have bought that car, at what I thought was a reasonable price, only to discover when I traded it that no one would want to touch it with a ten foot pole because of the accident. In any case, congratulations on lucking into a good car. Hope you got a good deal. And hope you'll do more homework next time.

I bought a new Mazda 3 in 2015. Driven 103,500 miles so far, absolutely love it. Had a transmission issue once, but was covered under warranty. Sub-woofers blew after about 2.5 years cause I blasted music at highest bass power lol. So don't do that :) Never had issues other than that (knocks on wood).
Post Purchase Dissonance is an actual thing which you shouldn't feel bad for at all. What you're experiencing is very normal and happens to most of us when making a huge financial decision like this.
My first car was a well used 1968 Firebird with a 4 bbl Rochester carb and 350 cubic inch engine. I bought it from a co-worker whose son drove it, banged it up, but the dad fixed it. My major costs: $800 for the initial purchase. 4 radial tires with studded snow tires for winter (this was back in the mid 1970s) Hurst brand shift linkage since the stock Pontiac linkage would bind up regularly. That’s it. I loved that car, and it was my daily driver for about 8 years. But the New York State salt combined with the Florida salt air left it badly rusted. And when my father in law and I tried to replace the brake lines due to corrosion, even he admitted it was too much to do, and I finally sold it to someone who knew its limitations. Our worst car was a 1980 Audi 5000s. We kept it for 8 years-far longer than we should have. Then some used and one new Volvo. Had reliability issues when they got older but otherwise served us well. Never truly regretted a car but the Audi came close. However it drove like a dream and was very comfortable. And I managed to prevent the brakes from making the cruise control light glow by adding a ground wire to the tail lights. So a little bit of work kept it going. We drove it up and down the eastern seaboard states from central NY to Florida and it didn’t kill us so it wasn’t that bad. But we never again looked at an Audi.
I have to go look for a new car 😭 I hear that you can drive Honda's until their wheels fall off. I was thinking about getting a used Honda Pilot (if anyone has owned a used Honda Pilot PLEASE tell me about your experience!)

When I bought my 2014 Ram a year ago I regretted it for a few weeks feeling like “WTF how am I gonna pay for this?!?” (It was my first financed vehicle) and once I made the first payment on it and realized I didn’t die and go bankrupt and loose everything I owned (lol dramatic, I know) I realized it was all going to be good. And if I hated it, or couldn’t afford it down the line, I’d trade it in and get something a little older and cheaper!! That’s the glory of “new” or practically new cars with high standing values, you can trade them in for something better for your wallet. Good luck, I’m sure you’ll love it 💕💕
Trading in is absolutely terrible because of negative equity.
Honey trade in’s make the dealership money, not the seller. Ever. They’ll buy your car for a wholesale price and get you to buy their car for retail.... unless you finance outside of the dealer and ONLY focus on the out of door price... you’ll lose. DONT EVER TELL THEM WHAT YOU WANT YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENT TO BE
Mermaids Exist My parents are self-employed business people and they only get cars if the dealer matches the monthly price they say. They get it everytime.
sun leo if it works for them then ok but for most it is unwise. They will stretch out a loan to fit that monthly amt you gave them and you’ll pay thousands more in interest
Same! I went from no car payment (mine was paid off) to a 370 car payment and a insurance payment of 65 to 235. I didn't know how I was gonna swing that with a part time job and being a full time college student but after the first couple payments I was like ok, I can do this!
Did anyone else get weird glitches while watching? Mine did 🙈

If you can pay cash and not finance a car you’re just fine financially, come back when you have to finance something for like 6 freaking years to afford it!
if you need to finance it for 6 years, the truth is, you can't afford it.
PutrHH BINGO!!!
@@KujezZi There are many reasons a person might finance something despite having the cash to buy it outright. One big one is that taking the car money and making 10% or more on it investing it while paying 4% interest on a car means you come out ahead in the end.

You've made the right decision. You bought a very nice car. it has a nice engine and transmission and all-wheel drive system. The mistake would've been if you had bought that Rouge with it's hideous CVT transmission.
Not only Nissan's transmissions are crap, they look absolutely hideous.

Mazda isn’t reliable when it comes to build quality
@andydguitar true but not true. They're both shit brands I used to lease a 2015 Nissan Rouge, that was the year they did the redesign on the rouge. Let me tell you that car was the biggest piece of shit. The ride is so shit you feel every bump and a lot of shit broke in the interior, overall a shit car and a shit brand and I say the same for Mazda.
A Jew from Brooklyn Mazda is better than Honda IMO. If you want oil leaks and petrol mixing with it sure get a Honda.
They are better than Nissans though, I'll give them that.

honestly I'm the same way, I am so used to saving that when I have to spend a lot of money on something that is necessary I have to think about it over and over again and then feel crappy after I buy it.

I also did look for a Mazda CX-5. They are good cars as long as you take care of them and do regular maintenance

Very true, but somethings are a want and not a need.😎

K03sport Infiniti is a great brand
@@disneyfan9099... You may think that's true, but (almost) all Infinities start life as a Nissan and that dooms them from the start. We had a 2004 Pathfinder (for 13 years) which was a fantastic vehicle, but some time after 2010-11 things started going south. Nissan's reliance on the cvt transmission was a bad one. Even joining forces with Renault has not improved things. Nissans - rental cars and nothing more. If Infiniti is great, why can't Nissan put more Infiniti into each Nissan? That would help out a lot.

Hi Clancy,
I used to work at Nissan head office & we’d process the car loans.
Life is short. Buy what you want and deserve and don’t listen to what other people say. What’s the point of having money if you don’t enjoy life?
I had two CX-5s, and I think you'll love it. It's a great vehicle.

My major costs:
$800 for the initial purchase.
4 radial tires with studded snow tires for winter (this was back in the mid 1970s)
Hurst brand shift linkage since the stock Pontiac linkage would bind up regularly.
