There is a reason the intake holes for the EFI are spread apart. The original EFI design before emission testing was completed were centered near the middle of the manifold. That design failed emission tests because of burnt exhaust valves in cylinders 1 and 4. With the single Weber on a stock intake that problem may lead to the same problem.
Nice plate but it looks like cylinders 1 and 4 are gonna run a bit lean. Maybe not because it’s carbureted and the fuel / air mixture will get distributed evenly across the cylinders. I’d like to no how his flow test went.
Me neither. I was interested to see how it turned out. I have an old valiant with a straight 6 in it and a single barrel carb right in the middle and they made a ton of those over many years. The carb does have a small plenum under it to help with the "fuel cloud" though. Once the gas is atomized it should get drawn into whichever valve is opened but the two middle ones do have a straight path. I imagine the tests to confirm any of this are pretty intense.
@@ecdezz hi i just now saw your reply , my zip is 30238 jonesboro ga but i can send a return label with it when i send it so no need for you to do anything but drop it off at a united parcel place i think ,not sure if they would pic up at your house unless u are a business that deals with them daily
I made an adapter out of wood....don't laugh ....wood doesn't conduct heat and is lighter than aluminum...used a Holley 2 brl TBI ...it was a bit over carbureted at 500 cfm...I think tunnel rams are for high rpm's...see 'em in drag racing.
Why would you downgrade the engine like that ? That carb is absolute garbage compared to injection , all that motor needs is a modern ECU like Megasquirt. That carb will result is lots of fuel separation in intake , uneven fuel, fuel puddling and terrible tuning .

Good to know; it may have the same problem. He said he'd keep me updated after some testing but I've not heard back yet.
Hey, has it been set up? it is really rare to use a double sidedraft on plenum manifold. Id be interested in the jetting, too. Thank You
Once I mailed it out I've not heard back about any results. I wish I had some follow up info but I just don't :(
@@ecdezz shame, very rare stuff. but thanks for the reply anyways
Looks great. How much is heat a factor on that aluminum piece you put on there
Shouldn't be an issue at all. The manifold is aluminum and the carb is aluminum too.
IM STILL INTERESTED IN GETTING YOU TO MACHINE MY INTAKE LET ME KNOW THANX

HOW MUCH TO MAKE ME ONE IF I SEND YOU NY INTAKE DIASASSEMBLED AND CLEAN
Hey Mark, let me see if I still have the fixture plate I made for it. Give me a zip and I'll figure shipping in too.

@@markfarmer3104 DID YOU FIND THE PLATE YET
Was the plate ever located? Curious about a price also and if there is any feedback after installation
@@ecdezz THAT WAS ME SNAKE THAT JUST REPLIED , I SAW I CONTACTED YOU LAST AS MARKFARMER , ANYWAY WANT TO GET MY INTAKE CUT FOR A WEBER 42DCOE

I've heard quite a few people using wood and it seems to work great; not sure about longevity though.

You could be right. Possibly why he never ordered another one.
