This movie was released 48 years ago in 1973. It realistically shows the hard and desperate living conditions that workers had to live under. Can we honestly say that their lives have improved in 2021? Sadly, the living conditions of our workers are where they were in 1973 although India has achieved a lot during the past 48 years. Hence, there is truth in the saying that the more things change, the more they remain the same.

Hrishikesh da was magician and his all movies were magic. How any one can make such great movies like Alsap, Anupama, Chupke chupke, Anand, Golmal, Guddi , bawarchi, Namak harama, satyakam, mili, Abhiman, khubsoorat, bemisal, Anari, Naram Garam, Do bigha zameen and many more. A true genius can only make such type of movies.
Rajesh Khanna was a great actor as well as a superstar. His films always left a message for the viewers. We shall always miss him. Mr Bachhan also did justice to his role. The film is well directed. There is nothing that can be eliminated. An absorbing movie. Worth watching again and again.

And in the late 60s and 70s created a craze all over India never seen before and since. Came into the industry on merit after winning a talent hunt competition against some 10,000 participants . (Even AB participated in one of them & lost) Had no Godfather. Could carry a movie without even a heroine ( Ittefaq, Anand , Bawarchi ….) . Didn’t hestitate to do all kind of roles - Dushman, Bawarchi , Red Rose , blockbusters like AAP ki Kasam, Avishkar, ) . Unparalleled charisma and screen presence . How any one can make such great movies like Alsap, Anupama, Chupke chupke, Anand, Golmal, Guddi , bawarchi, Namak harama, satyakam, mili, Abhiman, khubsoorat, bemisal, Anari, Naram Garam, Do bigha zameen and many more. A true genius can only make such type of movies.
