This movie shows the progressive times in many ways....girls persuing science, early twenty spark between newly married couples, healthy joke relationship, understanding friends and so on and so forth. Still i would say i can see this movie as a humor piece as well as much progressive. Love you rishikesh da for creating such a master piece
I watched this movie atleast 20 times and everytime I enjoyed it. Hrishikesh mukherjee was true legend and one of the best director. His all movies like Anand, Golmaal, bawarchi, Namak Haram, Guddi, Mili, Abhimaan, Anupama, Khubsoorat, Naram Garam, bemisal etc etc were masterpiece. He was genius directors. Thanks to hrishikesh da for making so great movies and we are still watching his movies with out getting bored. Love u hrishikesh da❤

It's a Hindi version of the Bengali movie "Chaddabesi" meaning imposter where Uttam Kumar and Madhabi Mukherji played the main roles. I read the story in Bengali maybe 65 years ago and had the best laugh while reading the most hilarious story.

This is the remake of old Bengali movie Chaddobeshi ( 1971 ). I love both bengali and hindi version.. story almost same.. the old actors , the songs in both movies are awasome..love to watch again and again..❤️❤️

Actually I am short of words to express my feelings about this master piece. This much pure comedy can never be recreated by anyone. I have stopped counting how many times I have watched this film. I have this in my computer and watch it whenever I want to relax. Above all what I have written here, I strongly and surely want to go into this story in that era and want to live this story by being a part of this pious story. Hrishikesh Mukherjee's every movie is a masterpiece. His movies were always based on comedy , light romance and if course drama. His movies were so near to each family and best part was his movies were as though it happened next door house..those days were indeed a golden era of Indian cinema. I am from south India, beleive me even in South those days, movies were class apart. If one can notice, those days, the costumes were so simple that , one could relate to any middle class family attire. The language was so simple , zero vulgarity. I am not blaming the current movies However, the depth and content in those days movies were indeed very deep . No, foreign locations for one song, no big budget movies, no bang bang musics, heroin's were literally heroines . Long live these legends.
Omprakash was the star of this movie. Dharmendra was on top form. Amitabh and Asrani were equally great. Excellent movie by Hrishi da. Only he can such a movie.

Actually I am short of words to express my feelings about this master piece. This much pure comedy can never be recreated by anyone. I have stopped counting how many times I have watched this film. I have this in my computer and watch it whenever I want to relax. Above all what I have written here, I strongly and surely want to go into this story in that era and want to live this story by being a part of this pious story. Actually I earnestly wish that this type of life one must be in to live.

Watching after almost 50 years of its release still the movie is entertaining.... Better then today's double meaning no brainer comedy.
Hrishikesh Mukherjee's every movie is a masterpiece. His movies were always based on comedy , light romance and if course drama. His movies were so near to each family and best part was his movies were as though it happened next door house..those days were indeed a golden era of Indian cinema. I am from south India, beleive me even in South those days, movies were class apart. If one can notice, those days, the costumes were so simple that , one could relate to any middle class family attire. The language was so simple , zero vulgarity. I am not blaming the current movies However, the depth and content in those days movies were indeed very deep . No, foreign locations for one song, no big budget movies, no bang bang musics, heroin's were literally heroines . Long live these legends.
