Im doing the same swap but i have wagoneer knuckles/hubs/spindle etc. Its how i bought everything from off fb market place. Im not sure how to find my axle shaft lengths. Or at least the outers.
I am not a fan of those diff covers. But most of my gripes are concerning street driving. But basically you don't get oil where you need it and you overwork the fluid due to the shape so you overheat the fluid.
