Bonus point, I tried escargot and I liked it!😂😂💀 Tell me what you think about the things I’ve talked about 😊
Escargot! What a coincidence!.. just today I was solving a Daily Nation simple crossword.. And I came across " A French delicacy made of local snails' And I had no idea until I saw your comment. But seriously ulikula konokono and you liked it.????
I am a french old timer. In the seventies, wen I was an expat in Abidjan, Côte-d’Ivoire, West-Africa, I saw huge snails about 1 kg/2 pounds in a traditional african market. Ivorian "mamans" used to sell them alive, a dozen in a bucket. I ate those huge snails in a traditional african restaurant with "attiéké" (a kind of manioc semola) and a thick spiced sauce, very very hot sauce west-african style. I liked the meal ... The beer was ivorian, the music was congolese, happy seventies in West-Africa... A young white man in his twenties could walk easily in a traditional african market without any problem, the ivorian simple people used to be very kind and always smiling and kidding with "le jeune blanc".
Merci 🙏 for your experience sharing, you seems to be a lovely person, have a great time here, et reste si tu veux, on a besoin de français comme toi 😊
Ewe.... I'm French but you can't make approach a cooked snail ! 😂 I love them but just watching them minding peacefully their own business in grass 😅
Wow! Glad you solved that. Let me tell you the taste really surprised me😂😂it’s definitely an acquired taste thing but I’m in!
I've lived for many years in many different parts of the world, and if there's one thing I've learnt, it's that 90 % of the time, people will treat you the way you treat them. As long as you show respect and use common sense, you'll be all right everywhere. The fact that many people have been nice to you just shows that you are a nice, positive person yourself, and it will be a big help no matter where you go :)
Taking advice from someone with more experience is always nice😊 Thank you for the kind words, looking forward to more experiences. Thanks for watching!✨
That’s a lie
That’s not true though, you sometimes find yourself surrounded by the wrong people no matter how well you treat them. As a English native, I grew up in France after the age of five, and they made fun of my french and who I am as a person because it wasn’t perfect because I was English, even when I was nothing but friendly to them.
@@sebastiengunn6934 you’re right. The original commentator must be living in an imaginary world because what they stated is obviously false.
I don’t Remember bullying smn or calling smn with slurs in Russia
As a French, I'm really happy that you felt welcome and treated nicely in France! It's not everyone's experience everywhere, unfortunately, it really depends where you go, and in which context. There are idiots in any country. ^^'
Hahah thank you for your comment Violette!
It’s been a pleasant stay, I honestly can’t complain. Your last statement made me laugh but it’s true😂
Thanks for watching!😊
100% right👍👍!!
Let's bé real. 90% of people who complain about français the French are obnoxious entitled self-absorbed arrogant condescending American tourists who only spent a few days in Paris and couldn't stand realizing thé world doesn't revolve around them
I just discovered your video and as I'm an old French man, I wish you the most wonderful time while you stay in France.
Thank you so much!😊
My time is almost up now, but I had the best days here✨
I’m so used to read bad thing about French people being rude (it’s right that people in Paris may be not always nice and helpful) It’s great to hear some positive things ! No surprise people in small town are super nice though !
I was a bit apprehensive as well but it really does depend on the location and individuals. Some people have definitely shown their not so nice parts even in the small towns but that’s not the main narrative. Paris is different I’ve also heard😂😂
That's not true at all. You should come in my country before to judge it. I'm in contact with a lot of Anglophone people and they often tell me how French are nice and helping even if there is a langage barrier. They can live in France not knowing a single word of french fir years, there will be always someone making the free effort to help them. But, if you cross some lines you will told off. Politeness and basic manners (hi, please, thank you, bye) are something here. It is the way it works in France.
Come here, you will understand.
peope just repeat stereoypes they saw for decades in american movies. American hollywood did the stereotype thing to most people on the planet. When you see those comments you can often identify that they never went to the place and are just repeating those tropes.
the part about people being nice is so true, especially when asking for directions like guys will forget where they are going and take you to the place you are looking for
Right!! Like thank you ma’am/sir but didn’t you have somewhere to go yourself?🥹
I appreciate those small gestures so much✨😂
It's refreshing to hear something different that the usual clichés about us being rude.
Thank you for that, we're glad you're among us and I hope you keep enjoying our country. Be well friend !
Hey! Yeah to be honest it has been a great experience and a good way to enter adulthood far from home. I hope to be back some day.
Thanks for watching 😊✨
People will treat you the way you treat them, I agree!
As a well traveled Frenchman, I never encountered rude people in Paris nor in NYC where I used to live for several years and both Parisians & NYorkers don’t have the best reputation..
It is all about how you approach people. A "hello" and a smile usually get a hello and a smile in return
But I have to say Chinese people and some Eastern Europeans like Estonians are not the friendliest people out there at least on the surface and I will put it down to education or quite simply to human relationships with strangers
Most of this type of video is by Americans so nice to see one from a Kenyan. Nicely done.
Thank you Kevin!😊
OMG you are so adorable! I am planning on retiring in the south of France from the US in a few years and even though we are worlds and years apart, I love hearing your stories. Keep making videos and I wish you much success!
Hey there! Thank you so much for the kind words🥹🥹❤️ I hope you make the big move, you’ll love it here. Thanks again for the support✨
Very Nice vidéo indeed. I must said you have not chosen the ugliest city... historical center of Carcassonne (that i have never visited) has an outstanding architecture. Also People in province are cooler than in Paris where they always seems to be in the hurry. Regarding your fera on how you would be accepted as a Black person, i would say that because of its history, with colony France strategy for foreigner is intégration, trying to avoid community, so that by the time and génération you become french despite your origin, color or religion, but because you adhere to french values that made France what it is.
Unfortunately extrême right is also becoming stronger and stronger, so in some case you may find racist People.
Hope you continue to enjoy your life in France
@@pascalplagalemanski1496 i think the left wing movements in France would be more terrifying sadly
@@NinjaTutel360 left wings do not not promote racism behaviors. Not saying they don’t have extremism position for some of the composants but not racist for sûre.
@@NinjaTutel360 Left wing scarier than far right ? In France ? You must be kidding. We are lucky here to have a real left wing, even if we don't like politics. It's the neoliberals (Macron) and the far right (Le Pen, Zemmour) who are terrifying.. especially when you see that even the current (neoliberal) government is more and more repressive and almost xenophobic now.
I don't know how the algorithisms got me to this video but I can tell that as a Frenchman I really appreciate that you can show there is some kindness with the random person who can relate and try to help you...I guess it's the same in every country in the world (I travelled to North and South America and Africa), as soon as you are respectful and try to understand the culture and people where you are... (except maybe in the US where people are becoming dumber and dumber...)
Je te souhaite tout le meilleur pour ton temps en France, et continuerai à regarder tes vidéos ;-) !
I’m glad! I’m always happy to share my point of view especially when my experience is so different from what I’ve heard before. It’s true, people are a reflection of your mental state so if you seek kindness you will find it.
Merci bien Nicolas!😊
Emphasis on the kindness from the French people...they show so much concern and are always willing to help. Lovely lovely people❤❤
Quite true! One of the reasons why immersion in an experience is so important 😊
Me, a French person: 😳
(seriously, I'm so glad you two lucked out)
Hello,
If you are a nice person, most people will be nice with you 😀I guess this is true everywhere.

Merci Marine! 😊It’s been a great experience so far. Je vais tout essayer ce Noël!😂
I think that's the first video I have watched about someone who was not french and came to live in france that is not negative (in general its because those people stays in Paris and Parisean are as*holes). Thanks for that mate ! And I'm glad you had a great experience in France !
Hey Charlie!
I’m happy to share my personal experience and it was good so no need to thank me🫶😊 haha
Thanks a lot for watching✨
Very nice video! Thanks for doing this and sharing it.
Thank you for the kind words☺️
And thanks for watching ✨
as french citizen i can say that u felt that great is beacause u didn't stay in paris, paris nowaday became so much self-centred, even people are like that, especially with strangers that don't even try to respect the calm and trying to speak even few word (like bonjour merci = hello thanks) otherwise in countryside or when u go out the main city ppl are very kind and welcoming. (sorry not perfect english)
Hey! Your English is just fine👌 t’inquiète.
Yeah I’ve heard Paris can be a bit too crazy but I have to say, it all depends on the day and the people you meet!
Thank you for watching!🙏🏾
I really enjoyed this video ! Im French and it’s nice for once to have something good said about us ! 😂
Glad you enjoyed!🫶
It’s crazy how many times I’ve read a comment like this. What’s going on with the French reputation out there?😂😭😭
i love this so much
Thank youu🥺✨❤️
Expecting to be victim of racsim in france is so wrong, we are very mixed country, almost every french have at least one grandparent of foreign origin. We are in fact more mixed than countries like brazil, we have peoples from all eurasia and Africa... here since the early/middle 20thcentury. Immigration is even more massive in the 21th century. The only peoples which things could go wrong is the english lol.
Amazing content. May I ask, what program did you join to teach English there?
Thank you Cate🫶✨
It’s the international language assistant program by the French Government.
they will never ever abandon a customer in a supermarket. When it s time to close, they will announce it on the PA and if you re not fast enough, an employee will come to you and tell you "madam we re about to close, can you please come to the cashier to check out"
You’re right, I wasn’t really “abandoned”, they just closed the check out points so I couldn’t do anything about it. I probably missed the announcement knowing how engrossed I get when shopping haha😂
Hey Angie am a new subby and guess what I love uo content it's addictive
Thank you so much for the support 😊✨
People are nice to you because you are very friendly & forward.
Haha, one way to look at it! Thanks✨
Subscribed already,i love your energy
I appreciate you!✨✨😊

@10:19 Carcassonne ! You chose well, that's where the nice people gather. Toulouse, Narbonne, Perpignan, Montauban, etc...
As soon as you were talking about people taking naps, and being nice...you know, you're talking about the South of France. Enjoy your stay.
Haha it would seem fate was on my side because it was a semi-random selection!😄
Thank you, I did! Now it’s time for me to go home🥺
"As soon as you were talking about people taking naps, and being nice...you know, you're talking about the South of France" - > What are you talking about?
As if other part of France aren't nice. It feel insulted to read that.
I bet you never get out of your area that often, and even if you have bad experience, you can't generalize like that.
I wish that you can saw one day how amazing other part of france are. (i've visited each metropolitan region of France, all are amazing)
@@Eldiran1 It's not about being nice, I agree with you.
But there are some part of France where people are colder than other places, you have to agree. It's about a warmer vibe, smiles, people being more friendly, etc...
And I'm not talking about the weather, people can be very warm in cold places.
@@julien5053 In my experience and opinion only (without any scientific study to backup this), in europe, the more in the north you get, the more welcomed you are. In the south, especialy when you cross the mediteranian sea, people put fake smile and you have to negociate price.
In the north they respect the law and people are more honest. The more south you get, the more people aren't honest and only respect the law because police are here.
Look at the magreb, look at mafia in south italy, the more corrupt state in europe are greece. Then look at how well the scandinavian state do.
In the end, it's just a feeling, even if it's what i believe.Nethertheless the wast majority of people i meet in France where nice, each region have something who are worthy to be visited.
The British Angie at the start of the video😂🤌🏾
😂😂❤️I don’t know where she came from🙊
Thanks for watching 🥹
Working as a language assistant is a great way to really discover a country, a city, it’s people
I totally agree! It’s been a great experience ✨
In what part of France were you? :> Because around here in the west everyone always are ~15 min late :D
Hey! I was in the south😊
Haha good to see the variance
I loved my experience in france!!
On verra!☺️🤞🏾
c'est épique carcassonne comme ville aussi
Oui c’est vrai😁
12:42 The wealth of a country does not reduce the number of problems. It reduces the *severity* of problems, because resources are more available to solve them.
Well put! I think my phrasing didn’t come out quite as I wanted it to so thanks for that.
A video without insults towards our people 😯😅
Joke aside I hope you enjoyed the all stay ! ☺
I’m surprised it’s usually the opposite 😂😂
C’était que de bonheur! Merci 😊
Tu es super drôle ! 😁
Haha
Merci😊✨
4:14 🤣🤣🤣 you must be in the one single place in France that doesn't have a constitutional +15, +30 minutes then! I mean, if it's professional we'll be on time but everything else is fair game.
😂😂😂you know, since I’ve made this video the bus schedules have been on the decline😂😭
I think i spoke too soon?
No Angie, we do not know how coaches are pls😂😂😂
Ala!😂😂next time I’m putting visuals just for you!😊
salut tu est a aix en provence ?
Coucou! 😊
Non, j’étais à Carcassone
@@angiemuthoni incroyable ! Je pensait a Carcassonne en voyant le château loin derrière mais en regardant les déco de Noël avec le marché de Noël , j'ai cru que c'était le cours Mirabeau a Aix en Provence :)
to do everything but what is the goal?
To experience as much in life as I can is my goal for now✨
Carcassonne 😊🗡️🛡️🇨🇵✊🏼😉
Allez!😊🏰
You are tres mignonne including the crumb😅
Ah quand même 😂😭
Merci!

😂😂😂exactement! And not a minute late😊
Its great that you've been welcomed here, but systemic racism do exist. It depends where you are and who you are with. And also careful with the police. They're known to be racists.
But yes there are kind people too :)
Stay safe !
Hey there! Thank you for the insight 😊totally valid.
I appreciate you watching🫶✨
I thought you r crumb was a piercing ahah
Ahahha lets keep it that way😜
lol Good news for you, but try to avoid Paris.....
Haha thanks! ✨
Paris is unavoidable I’m afraid😂🥲
@@angiemuthoni lol you can’t say one tell you. But if really you want to enjoy Paris go to Saint Germain en Laye or Versailles much better than Paris is about 15 min away from Paris. And careful they are a lot thiefs in Paris
What kind of troll is this ?
👀?
This "rude French" thing is an Anglo US invention and is nothing but a pile of B.S. It's called cultural differences. Most of the French are more reserved than loud Anglosaxons who shout and yell every 5 minutes for anything, but are probably more open minded than many other nationalities. As for Parisians, they are normal pople like in any other place. As someone living in the Paris area, i've often tried in the past to communicate in English with foreign tourists, whom English speaking tourists. The impression was that i bothered them more than anything else. Like in any major world capitals, a lot of people deal with harsh daily life probems, and are stressed. Go in NYC or London, and enjoy. Individual people and crowds are 2 different things, when one take the time to communicate. I really think that a lot of people, particularly in US, should definitively try to cure their problem with the French in good mental institutions. Boring.
Quite strong sentiments Omer!!😄😅
But yes, having an open mind is always necessary.
