This is probably the attempt at making an educating and insightful video with the most inaccurate sources on TH-cam. First of, the picture showing Denmark and Sweden “joining forces” is a picture of people holding the Swedish and NORWEGIAN flags. No Danish people to be seen. Furthermore, there are not huge ice caps in the Øresund. And the “man made island” is not MILES from Copenhagen. A great engineering feat for sure, but not the first. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel was built in 1964 across the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay in the state of Virginia, USA. The bridge is 17.6 miles long and includes two tunnels which are about 130ft deep.
This is a nice bridge/tunnel. It is a copy of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel in Virginia, USA. Which contains 3 islands and two tunnels as well as the bridges connecting them all. There is also a smaller version called Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel connecting Norfolk Virginia and Newport News Virginia. These have been here for many many years.
I can’t believe you did all this work to make this video and didn’t tell the one thing I wanted to know 🗣️How deep is the tunnel “road” that goes under the ocean?
@@diemman70 It doesn't change the fact, that it's not okay to misinform people. But I still think it's not okay. Have a nice day. 😊
The water is not very deep where the bridge was built. The strait is deep in some areas, up to 50m deep, but its shallow where the bridge and tunnel is built, usually 5-8m deep except one small portion that is 12-14 deep to make it easier for large ships to pass through. When they built the bridge the very large crane boat (its shown at 2:06) couldnt even be in that shallow water. They had to dig trenches underwater for the boat.
Yea, this mind-blowing project had just begun when I was a student in Malmo in 1998. There used to be a sailing ferry which shuttled between Copenhagen and malmo and it was just scary watching the engineering feat going on as you sailed right by the construction lane. I was fortunate to watch this evolve right into commissioning. Scandinavia is an inspiring region to live in. Bravo🇺🇸🇺🇸

I'm in complete awe, when I realized it actually went underwater, I was amazed! Wow that is so cool. Oh and the underside train, this is really an amazing piece of construction. I didnt think it was possible. Thats amazing!
Devin Hinkson kool, I had to keep going back 2c that, I'm a convert in Mississippi and can not wait to move to Utah, I never heard of Mormons till I met the missionaries and started going to church now I've been a member for 2years and still can't believe how people can hate on a church so much
I was puzzled by the building in the background that looked an awful lot like the Provo Temple, but didn't immediately make the connection. I mainly noticed the wrong flag for Denmark.
At 0:53 Not only is that a Norwegian flag instead of a Danish flag, but also, those aren't even Swedish or Norwegian people, nor are they in that country. That's an image of LDS missionaries at the Provo temple in Utah, USA xD
When I saw the end of the video I was not quite sure why they were showcasing the LDS Missionaries, but was glad to see they did. It's been nearly 4 decades since I was a student at BYU, but the area surrounding the Prove Temple still looks pretty much the same. Mark
This is a beautiful bridge, and great engineering. Allowing ships, etc to still pass through the waterway. We also have 3 "bridge-tunnels" here in the Hampton Roads/757 area of Virginia, in the U.S.
Thank You!!!!!! I'm from the Eastern Shore of Virginia which is on one end of it and Virginia Beach is the other. 17 miles to be exact with a pier and restuarant.

Ok, say no more! - I'll make a video of it containing pure quesswork: The proud Virginia bridge build by tobacco slaves, to connect the Lone star state. And then a picture of the Canadian flag.
Exactly Almost every bridge in the Virginia Beach area is set up this exact same way and was build in the 50s Denmark is copying what we already had 😂 hell the Chesapeake bay bridge-tunnel had two tunnels In one bridge and it’s longest bridge-tunnel complex in the world
Love how they have a picture of Mormon missionaries in Provo, Utah (no earlier than the 1970s) holding up the Swedish and Norwegian flags while they're talking about Swedish and Danish government officials getting together to talk about building the bridge in 1930s.
Embarrassing for the creator's of this video. Non of the flags showed are Danish. And the picture of a guy standing on shore looking at icebergs. There isn't a single icebergs anywhere near Denmark or the oresund bridge.
"Malmo, Sweden and Copenhagen, Denmark, pictured respectively" yet the photos were in the other order. :P Seriously, this needs to be pulled and re-edited, otherwise people out in the world are going to get really confused by some of the bad editing and wrong facts.
I was fortunate enough to free dive under that bridge earlier this year ( under the water ) . Spectacular to look up at such a wonderful piece of engineering
I had an European trip in 2017. Started from Estonia, rode through Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and back to Estonia. The Oresund bridge really was amazing along with the tunnel. Did not expect a quick ride from Copenhagen to Malmö.
It would have been far more impressive if you had started this video with people holding Swedish and Danish flags rather than holding up the two Swedish and one Norwegian flag. Rather typical American blunder.
everybody cant know the nuances of everything i couldnt tell the difference till i googled it its almost the same flag all they did was take the blue line out n say "thatll work".. im sry he got ur flag wrong, n while i admit thats not an acceptable mistake when making a video thats suppose to b of this caliber it is a pretty typical thing of You to do to blame it on america.. lol it has nothing to do with being a normal human being that makes mistakes.. lol wtf :p not that im really defending america.. theres not much to defend at the moment were an embarrassment at least in my opinion
@Natalia I don't know man, I've never heard about an unintelligent danish stereotype. Americans, however, are known to be pretty ignorant about European countries. Not to say you're dumb or unintelligent, just uninformed.
I'm glad I scrolled down to the comments because the facts in this video would've had me fooled. This is why I always rely on several sources and other people, not just one person. _Denmark is not Norway._ Incorrect facts aside, this is a really cool architectural marvel. Definitely something I think about be worth seeing on one's lifetime. This is going on the bucket list~
You are aware, that it is the Norwegian flag and Swedish flag shown in the video. And Norway has nothing to do with the Øresund Bridge. And there is no Danish flag.
The Øresund bridge is really spectacular, but your video unfortunately shows numerous examples of poor research. You have obviously not a lot of knowlege about the location and it's history. You don't even know the Danish flag. It is a Norwegian flag you show instead.
Nils Kirchner and you obviously don’t have much knowledge of English grammar. Instead of putting down someone else’s work go and make a video yourself.
Milo 90 grammar is of course important. But you have to understand how annoying this video is for us Swedes and Danes since there are so many wrongs in it. If you are making an informational video you should at least double check the facts before publishing, and it is extremely obvious that he did not do that. Even the headline is wrong, it is not Denmark’s bridge, it’s Denmark and Sweden’s bridge. It’s a big cooperation our countries did together and something we are proud of, connecting our people in a fantastic way. This video should not have been published at all.
I hear you, Milo 90. My English grammar is not perfect. That is what happens sometimes, especially when I text on my smartphone. Sorry for that. English is my third language after German and Danish. I wonder how well you would master those two languages, Milo 90. Some people make videos, other people don't. Why shouldn't I be allowed to criticize videos, only because I do not produce any myself? To be fair this video is well produced, and the speaker has a pleasant voice. I don't know about all the numbers, but I guess they are correct. Most of the shortcomings of this video are not serious. But a Norwegian flag instead of the Dannebrog is not acceptable. That is serious enough to ask for a remake.
Nils Kirchner Nils Kirchner I honestly don’t have interest in Danish or German but I do speak Spanish and Portuguese, I wonder who of us two can communicate with the most people across the world? You can always criticize just as you’re doing it right now, pointing out both positive and negative things, not in the degrading way you did it the first time, just put yourself on the producer’s shoes for a second and think on how long they’ve spent researching and editing to inform and talk nothing but marvels about your country, not his. A wrong flag enough for a remake? That’s for them to decide, not you.
Okay, Milo 90. We are even at languages. The Danes are very emotional about of their flag, the Dannebrog. I know that well, but I am German, not Danish. I am not that emotional about the German flag. But I do know that Americans are very emotional about their flag too, and I strongly suspect the producer of this video to be American. He wouldn't have dared to make a similar mistake when producing a video about an American bridge, don't you think?
And isn't it freaky to be in the middle and not see land in either direction? I did it back about 30 yrs ago as a bucket list item, and it was during a storm too.

Like this for DECADES!
Quite eerie to drive so far out to sea and watch the road disappear.
I was always impressed with the Chesapeake Bay bridge tunnel. When I lived in Norfolk, VA, I would cross that heading into Delaware.
I came here to see if anyone would mention it! Live in VB and it's the weirdest thing to drive to the eastern shore! I'm above the ocean, I'm below the ocean, I'm above the ocean, I'm below the ocean. Weeeeeeeee
This is an awsome bridge I wish I live in Denmark
This is probably the attempt at making an educating and insightful video with the most inaccurate sources on TH-cam.
First of, the picture showing Denmark and Sweden “joining forces” is a picture of people holding the Swedish and NORWEGIAN flags. No Danish people to be seen.
Furthermore, there are not huge ice caps in the Øresund.
And the “man made island” is not MILES from Copenhagen.
I am happy every time Denmark gets a little attention around the world, but please base your content on real information.
Thank you for the laugh!

Hello
Love to Sweden & Denmark's achievement in this symbol of unity!
The Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel has been around for about 60 years. It was an engineering marvel back then.

Bravo🇺🇸🇺🇸

Anyone notice that the picture of the people holding the flags in the beginning were LDS missionaries. It's in front of the LDS Provo Temple.

That’s what I want to see, videos of the bridge under the water
I had an European trip in 2017. Started from Estonia, rode through Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and back to Estonia.
The Oresund bridge really was amazing along with the tunnel. Did not expect a quick ride from Copenhagen to Malmö.

It looks amazing. I know we have underwater tunnels in New York, but our tunnels don't have that look of disappearing into the water.

You are aware, that it is the Norwegian flag and Swedish flag shown in the video. And Norway has nothing to do with the Øresund Bridge. And there is no Danish flag.
Actually they(Norwegians) do, because they can drive to Scotland very easily only because of Oresund Bridge😁😁😁.
Well... *as you know* ...there actually *is* one [ ...the "Dannebrog"]; but, unfortunately....ain't *nobody* done *showed* It ({; D ...!!!
