Hello Evony.Im new player in that game I need advice. First skill I put on my general is level 4 but when I won't to put next one I read that on display: The new skill has 50% chance to replace one of the existing skills. Continue to learn? I need advice what to do skill that I put first is very good I don't to loose her. Thanks
well i do have other general videos avaliable that talk about it a bit but i do not currently have a video for that specifically. Although all there really is to say on it is to earn gems and gold to refresh the tavern and buy the generals with gold. The higher the level tavern the better. You can also do some events that will give generals or spend items gained from battlefield events in the battlefield shop to get a general but both these methods aren't simple or easy.
I'm finding your videos extremely helpful! Not sure if I've missed it or not, but I would be interested in learning more about how to use ground troops and scipio africanus effectively, as I ended up with him somehow and he's one of my strongest generals. Thanks!
Scipio is a fantastic general to be used with ground troops, however, generally people will have their best general being either for mounted and/or ranged troops. Although Scipio is one of the best generals, ground is effective against ranged troops which people usually have less of until many months into your server being opened, as most people build mounted troops first your ground troops will be weak to these armies, unfortunately. I would recommend sticking to a ranged setup for PvP until other players become more susceptible to ground attacks. If you were able to find someone with plenty of ranged troops and a relatively low amount of mounted you could send 60% of your march size full of ground troops 25% siege and mix the rest so that you have some of each troop type. This is always risky as people still tend to suicide kill the mounted troops first by using a ranged attack followed by attacking with ground separately.
Subordinate city clues can be earned from purchased packages and attacking monsters/bosses primarily with a few other options available. These clues can be used by going to the event center and clicking the historic city searching tab and selecting a sub you would like to try to win. When you select and option, contribute some clues to then see what the change % is that you will win. If you win, you will receive a mail to claim your key to spawn the new sub on the world map. Although be quick to claim the new sub or your opponents might steal it!
An actual list we could take a screen shot of would be huge. Without an actual list I’m always a little unsure at the end of your vids. It would greatly improve the usefulness of your videos. Keep up the great work
Any video/plan to do a video on how to do ground march attacks correctly? I mained ground on my last k33 and coming back and planned ground again as it's a archer heavy server.
I have been working on other things such as a website for the game, I will make videos once again when possible however this type of video might not be done for a little while. Although next week I will be streaming the All-Star Battlefield which we enable me and the audience to check out how the big boys are using their ground marches
I do indeed use those two troop types quite often, I personally do not have the power to be making lots of ground etc however in the coming months I will be needing it! Ranged and Siege is everyone's go to setup however ground and even mounted sometimes are needed in large numbers to wipe out players that have a lot of mounted/ranged troops
Siege are excellent in PvP, although using them against players in your own server can prove costly. I suggest using them against players in Server vs Server and Battlefield as a main proponent of your attacking and defending forces, alongside ranged troops. Ranged troops can consist of 60+% and siege 20+%. very large players may just use almost all ranged troops instead but players below 500M power will do great with siege in many cases. They may be slow but they have a lot of range and are capable of doing a lot of damage prior to dying.

Which one is the better one to carry me till u get better end game generals? I am relatively new to game .. our server is under 2 months..I have power leveled to 25 but now leveling up buildings and research to catch up in levels Should I work on Black Prince, Himiko or Mehmed?
Personally I would go for the black prince, however you will want a general for defense seperate to this, preferably kiet or other better generals but you could still use the likes of himoko for this use if needed.

@@TaimurAmjad I would sell Mehmed personally but it is up to you to make that choice, if you don't need the gold you could always hang onto him for another use such as levelling for a duty role. It is important to remember that certain duty roles, such as the Archer Tower, benefit from special generals. These generals are called duty generals and will have a special skill that mentions this. Regular generals skill books do not work in duties, however the likes of Ban Chao (Archer tower officer) may reduce enemy mounted troop attack by 20% and increase your own ranged attack by 20%. Therefore I dont think that Himoko is best used here, instead she may be used as a subordinate city mayor up until you get a better general for this use. This is due to the "reduces" portion of her skill book, which works from subordinate cities. The primary generals available in the tavern for free players is Nero and Empress Cixi that may be used in this role but Himoko still is helpful!
Also, your setup seems great for PvP and Defense. I would focus on the Prince first as he works in the defense role and attack as normal, however Kiet only works in defense so is not as flexible.
What about Gustav Adolphus? He has two debuffs and two buff in his basic skill!! Reduced enemy siege and range, while increasing your siege and range!! Surely big enemies who think along your lines of investing in archers and siege for PvP will be severely vulnerable by this general at high level?
Gustavus is a great general to use, especially given he is available in the tavern. There are various better generals that are harder to obtain however. I still rate gustavus as a worthwhile general to invest in nonetheless

Hi. I'm confused about ground troops and generals. Someone else said ground are useless but I thought they kill ranged troops? How would I go about using ground gen/troops to weaken, if not actually destroy, a mainly ranged player who favours Minomoto? He's a bully and the whole server hates him. Lol.
If he has a ranged march out, a march (preferably a rally) would destroy his march. If you guys want to zero his city, you need to scout to see what troops he has. Depending on that, send corresponding march). Say if he only has archers, just do a rally. But if he is well rounded, you may consider a triple-rally, first archer, then , and finish with ground.
Shawn is correct that you should scout first always when going against a formidable opponent, then alliance rally them if needed to have an easier time killing them. Ground are great against ranged however it is unlikely sending a huge ground march straight away against a player is a great idea, I would suggest sending a normal march with archers siege and a little ground/mounted. If this does not work, but at least wipes out some of his other types of troops then consider reversing the troop amounts so you are sending every troop type but mainly ground. If you are very confident you could do the latter right away though!
He is a very good subordinate city mayor general, his debuffs will work well from there as long as you use your sub-cities when attacking or defending your city
A final question on this subject but a beginners question if I may . I appreciate it seems obvious that the higher Armour should be worn but are there any exceptions for PVP ? Also is it better to wait for a decent set or start crafting the lower stuff ? Which is better for example... Courage or Fearless for PvP if your at that level ( keep 22, )
@@therealisticgooner8267 It depends upon the exact stats for each piece, although players will have a lot of mounted they aren't as useful for smaller players in PvP (under 1B power), therefore sometimes the courageous is better and other times fearless will be for PvP, you usually want ranged first then siege then ground and mounted being the last priority. Although of course mounted based gear is great also to use on a mounted general for limited PvP use or against boss monsters. I would suggest starting with the highest yellow gear that you can then upgrading to red when possible.
@@welnic869 Generals listed in my Best Generals guide/s are worth adding skill books to. These generals will require that you add skill books that are similar to their default skill to make the most of them. Often these generals will have 35% or higher buff for mounted or ranged troops.
Question about range generals. I've had a difficult time getting a quality range general. I've kinda been locked in on Alfred the great or Elektra but have had no luck. I got Guiscard recently and I've never heard you mention him. To me, his problem is the specials he has don't line up well for a range guy, but what do you think about him overall as a pvp general?
He does fine but isn't usually seen in All stars battlefield for instance, which is in part because he is new but still going for the others you mention would be great. If it is really becoming tiresome getting them you could wait for kings scheme events with them in it, then purchase enough items to claim one
@@EvonyGuides Well we know why the specials were so oddly mounted when the Skill book was ranged on him. I was sending him on a rally last night and noticed they changed his skill from 25% bonus range attack, to 25% bonus mounted attack with a 15% debuf to enemy mounted and ground troops. He is a full on mounted general now, and I just put 3 range skill books on him, range gear and the scorpion lol. I sent in a ticket, they didn't even mention the Guiscard change in the update.
If I have a general in my sub such as Li Jing does the buff apply to my main march. How can I tell what buffs and debuffs apply when I put a general to my sub
The only way to tell is to use the subs when attacking someone or when someone attacks you with the subs ticked to fight for your main city. This means you can teleport out to a inactive player and attack them once to find out your buffs if need be. Although keep in mind that debuffs only work up to 50% of an enemies total buffs. If you attack a keep level 2 player, you will more or less not be able to see your own max debuffs because they are too low of a player. Li Jing will not work in a subordinate city, technically he will buff the subordinate city troops but not your main army (therefore useless). This is why we use Debuff generals ONLY as they apply a debuff to the entire enemy army and stack. You generally see most people have duplicates of Cixi and Nero for use in subordinate cities. However you can use a range of different debuff generals depending on which ones you have in the tavern. Always look out for the "reduces" terminology in a generals special skill!
Why is Winfield Scott over looked on almost every list I've seen. His base stats are higher than gwanggaeto. His specialty stats are higher than gwanggaeto giving him +86 ranged attach to gwanggeato's +66. All before you add an attack book.
He is good enough to get by on for some time, provided you are on Server 500+ and do not spend any or very little money. If you aren't in those categories, then I would suggest trying to get another general that has even higher ranged stats. Although this is always easier said than done, if you might find it difficult, or simply cannot wait a month or two then go ahead and invest as he isn't bad at all
What level and general do I need to start hitting Bosses? I'm K21, i do'nt spend money but will acquire Li jing in a few days. I also have Honda Tadakatsu but wasn't sure if I should bother building him up? Cheers
It depends what level boss you are trying to kill, you could probably kill up to boss 5 or 6 right now even. Although remember to use mounted troops only when attacking them! I wouldn't build honda up myself and do remember it isn't easy to get li jing. You can still get many mounted generals from the tavern if you try hard enough but it might take a little longer than you think!
Li jing is coming free around now with the daily tokens Evony are giving out. He would be a great boss general with a 35% mounted buff. What bosses you can hit will depend on how many troops you have, try b1 and work up. I would think you can do b4/5 depending on troops

Hi - my best general for pvp is alexander - but mostly because i got him early in the game and he is pretty strong now and march speed is also an opportunity in pvp. Anyhow arminius has better buffs ;-) enjoy the game my friend
In PvP you're supposed to teleport right next to people or speed up your march anyway. Forfeiting buffs for a march speed increase is really not necessary nor worth it. I suggest replacing Alexander before it gets even more difficult for you to do so
He was implemented as a general only obtainable through being given him as you level up, although I believe there are other ways to earn him now he is one of few that is not in the list still and I am unsure exactly why.

This list was meant to include tavern and non tavern generals to ensure everyone gets a shot at the generals included. This is reflected in leaderboards of generals where spenders and non spenders tend to go for the ones i mention. However there are a few such as you mention that are also pretty good also!

If you want to find it on the map, click onto it in this screen then click the blue coordinates under the picture of the sub. The first sub in the list is not on the map.
IF we send siege and archers with archer general and put siege and ranged troops bonus range skills will it be effective to kill enemies from long range???
It will absolutely help, and at the least people tend to use a Ranged Bonus Skill for their archers. Although be sure to add Additional Attack and HP as well! Using both range books is a little much for attacking generals. I suggest sticking to just the one and more so being the archers .
You would need to buy higher priced packages, to unlock these you would need to buy the smaller event packs first and work your way up. The higher packages will somtimes give a RANDOM epic historical general that COULD be Elektra. It is very hard to get her and could cost thousands of dollars potentially if you are super unlucky. Alternatively you could compete in the battlefield event to earn special currencies to use in the battlefield shop (found near your walls) and purchase with earnrd in-game items a random chance epic historical general, which is very fairly unlikely to be elektra also. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Ban Chao - no skill books needed King Sejong - any subordinate city skill books will do, most aren't going to make a huge difference. Perhaps gold and training speed Nero - same as above Honda he is can be used the same as above in subordinate cities until you get more neros. Arminius can be used in subordinate cities, however if you need a general for attacking/defending you can use him for that, until being able to replace with a better one (retiring him to a sub later) Gustavus can be used in the same way as Arminius perhaps choosing Gus as your attack general, Arminius as defense
I spend money on the game which helped but i been more focusing on gathering resources to build keep level. It just takes time, building power isnt everything as you need your keep level to be as high as possible before training lots of troops (which is the easiest way to increase power). The gold comes from saving from events like battlefield and vikings for a while. As a smaller player joining alliance rallies on certain event boss monsters, vikings and attacking goblins yourself on the world map is the easiest way to build up gold
Thanks for your vdos. I have been following your vdos since I started to play. Helped me a lot. But one thing I’ll oppose that you take cavs and grounds out from pvp. They are very important in PvP to do lot of damage. Yes your concept of archers only works at mid level keeps when lot of players making cavs to kill bosses , archers can be effective against it. But what will you do if you see enemy wall has balanced troops? You with archers, they will be butchered by the grounds. Many small to mid level players starts to think okay pvp is my thing, I’ll be archer based. The bad news: one mistake all their archers gets killed. Slows down their growth, waste of rss. Ofcourse archer based players makes more mistakes than cav base. As archer base player wants only PvP. They can’t even kill a boss. Have to rely on others. For pvp among the big players: 1. Send archers to clear the cavs, 2. Sends grounds to clear the archers, 3. Finally send cavs to destroy everything left.
This is true in some ways however it isn't what i am mentioning in the video, i go on to say the video is not as much for ground/siege/mounted but check other videos for info on that. This video is mostly for players look for their no 1 general for PvP, not to be covering all bases on PvP. This is especially made that way because a majority of my viewers are not as experienced as yourself, and I dont wish to confuse them with too much information in one video. I do urge anyone reading this to make sure you are capable of dealing with any threat, or to clear different types of troops from an enemy keep. This will be covered in future videos and somewhat in other generals lists I create for my channel. Thank you for your reply, I hope people learn a little from it!

The only way to tell is to use the subs when attacking someone or when someone attacks you with the subs ticked to fight for your main city. This means you can teleport out to a inactive player and attack them once to find out your buffs if need be. Although keep in mind that debuffs only work up to 50% of an enemies total buffs. If you attack a keep level 2 player, you will more or less not be able to see your own max debuffs because they are too low of a player. Li Jing will not work in a subordinate city, technically he will buff the subordinate city troops but not your main army (therefore useless). This is why we use Debuff generals ONLY as they apply a debuff to the entire enemy army and stack. You generally see most people have duplicates of Cixi and Nero for use in subordinate cities. However you can use a range of different debuff generals depending on which ones you have in the tavern. Always look out for the "reduces" terminology in a generals special skill!

Why is Winfield Scott over looked on almost every list I've seen. His base stats are higher than gwanggaeto. His specialty stats are higher than gwanggaeto giving him +86 ranged attach to gwanggeato's +66. All before you add an attack book.

He is good enough to get by on for some time, provided you are on Server 500+ and do not spend any or very little money. If you aren't in those categories, then I would suggest trying to get another general that has even higher ranged stats. Although this is always easier said than done, if you might find it difficult, or simply cannot wait a month or two then go ahead and invest as he isn't bad at all

What level and general do I need to start hitting Bosses? I'm K21, i do'nt spend money but will acquire Li jing in a few days. I also have Honda Tadakatsu but wasn't sure if I should bother building him up? Cheers
It depends what level boss you are trying to kill, you could probably kill up to boss 5 or 6 right now even. Although remember to use mounted troops only when attacking them! I wouldn't build honda up myself and do remember it isn't easy to get li jing. You can still get many mounted generals from the tavern if you try hard enough but it might take a little longer than you think!
Li jing is coming free around now with the daily tokens Evony are giving out. He would be a great boss general with a 35% mounted buff. What bosses you can hit will depend on how many troops you have, try b1 and work up. I would think you can do b4/5 depending on troops

Hi - my best general for pvp is alexander - but mostly because i got him early in the game and he is pretty strong now and march speed is also an opportunity in pvp. Anyhow arminius has better buffs ;-) enjoy the game my friend
In PvP you're supposed to teleport right next to people or speed up your march anyway. Forfeiting buffs for a march speed increase is really not necessary nor worth it. I suggest replacing Alexander before it gets even more difficult for you to do so
Why Belisarius not in portrait charts ?
He was implemented as a general only obtainable through being given him as you level up, although I believe there are other ways to earn him now he is one of few that is not in the list still and I am unsure exactly why.

Winfield Scott from America is pretty good too. I would put him in top 5 for archers.
This list was meant to include tavern and non tavern generals to ensure everyone gets a shot at the generals included. This is reflected in leaderboards of generals where spenders and non spenders tend to go for the ones i mention. However there are a few such as you mention that are also pretty good also!

IF we send siege and archers with archer general and put siege and ranged troops bonus range skills will it be effective to kill enemies from long range???
It will absolutely help, and at the least people tend to use a Ranged Bonus Skill for their archers. Although be sure to add Additional Attack and HP as well! Using both range books is a little much for attacking generals. I suggest sticking to just the one and more so being the archers .

How do you acquire Electra?
You would need to buy higher priced packages, to unlock these you would need to buy the smaller event packs first and work your way up. The higher packages will somtimes give a RANDOM epic historical general that COULD be Elektra. It is very hard to get her and could cost thousands of dollars potentially if you are super unlucky. Alternatively you could compete in the battlefield event to earn special currencies to use in the battlefield shop (found near your walls) and purchase with earnrd in-game items a random chance epic historical general, which is very fairly unlikely to be elektra also. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Can you give me advice where to use following generals and the skill books that should be used on them:
1) Arminius
2)Gustavus adolphus
3)Nero (only skillbooks)
4)king sejong (only skillbooks)
5)Honda Tadakatsu
6)Ban chao (only skillbooks)
Ban Chao - no skill books needed
King Sejong - any subordinate city skill books will do, most aren't going to make a huge difference. Perhaps gold and training speed
Nero - same as above
Honda he is can be used the same as above in subordinate cities until you get more neros.
Arminius can be used in subordinate cities, however if you need a general for attacking/defending you can use him for that, until being able to replace with a better one (retiring him to a sub later)
Gustavus can be used in the same way as Arminius perhaps choosing Gus as your attack general, Arminius as defense
how did you get that power and gold?
I spend money on the game which helped but i been more focusing on gathering resources to build keep level. It just takes time, building power isnt everything as you need your keep level to be as high as possible before training lots of troops (which is the easiest way to increase power). The gold comes from saving from events like battlefield and vikings for a while. As a smaller player joining alliance rallies on certain event boss monsters, vikings and attacking goblins yourself on the world map is the easiest way to build up gold

Thanks for your vdos. I have been following your vdos since I started to play. Helped me a lot. But one thing I’ll oppose that you take cavs and grounds out from pvp. They are very important in PvP to do lot of damage. Yes your concept of archers only works at mid level keeps when lot of players making cavs to kill bosses , archers can be effective against it. But what will you do if you see enemy wall has balanced troops? You with archers, they will be butchered by the grounds. Many small to mid level players starts to think okay pvp is my thing, I’ll be archer based. The bad news: one mistake all their archers gets killed. Slows down their growth, waste of rss. Ofcourse archer based players makes more mistakes than cav base. As archer base player wants only PvP. They can’t even kill a boss. Have to rely on others. For pvp among the big players: 1. Send archers to clear the cavs, 2. Sends grounds to clear the archers, 3. Finally send cavs to destroy everything left.
This is true in some ways however it isn't what i am mentioning in the video, i go on to say the video is not as much for ground/siege/mounted but check other videos for info on that. This video is mostly for players look for their no 1 general for PvP, not to be covering all bases on PvP. This is especially made that way because a majority of my viewers are not as experienced as yourself, and I dont wish to confuse them with too much information in one video. I do urge anyone reading this to make sure you are capable of dealing with any threat, or to clear different types of troops from an enemy keep. This will be covered in future videos and somewhat in other generals lists I create for my channel. Thank you for your reply, I hope people learn a little from it!
