Hi! I changed the battery of my Cadillac STS 2006 and it doesn't let me set the date month and Year in the radio display. Any posible reason of what i'm doing wrong?
+Jose Olvera I know that the manufacture recommends 7-8,000 miles but Even though the oil is a full synthetic I always recommend to replace the oil every 5,000 miles or 5 months
Thank you for all your help jimthecarguy. I just recently bought my car from a guy and all I need to do on it is the oil change and also replace the drive shaft rubber. It's a $50 fix plus labor. Do you recommend driving the car or is it a fix first thing ?
+Jose Olvera From what I can recall I think on the oil cap it recommends Mobile 1 but this is what I find in my computer. GM4718M Your vehicle's engine requires a special oil meeting GM Standard GM4718M. Oils meeting this standard may be identified as synthetic. However, not all synthetic oils will meet this GM standard. You should look for and use only an oil that meets GM Standard GM4718M. NOTICE: If you use oils that do not have the GM4718M Standard designation, you can cause engine damage not covered by your warranty. 2.SAE 5W-30 As shown in the viscosity chart, SAE 5W-30 is best for your vehicle. However, you can use SAE 10W-30 if it is going to be 0°F (-18°C) or above. These numbers on an oil container show its viscosity, or thickness. Do not use other viscosity oils such as SAE 20W-50.
hey jimithecarguy, I was just wondering if you could help me out with something. I recently changed the oil about a month or so and I am also putting 91 gas in my 2005 Cadillac sts v8 and about 3 or 4 days ago I started hearing knocking sounds. Do you think this is because of the gas or oil I had put in which was 5w 40 instead of 5w 30
+Jose Olvera Yes the 5w40 is to heavy for that car Depending what the temperature is outside overnight .After the car runs for a few minutes does the knocking go away? Also did you use the full synthetic motor oil? Keep me posted.Jim
Yes once it is runing I don't hear a thing but when I start driving you start to hear it for like 5 seconds then it goes away. I used mobile 1 synthetic oil
hi Jimthecarguy, i did change the oil to what was needed which is mobile 1 5w30 but am still hearing little knocking sounds. Do you think the engine could be moving forward instead of staying still and might need motor mounts?
You will need to reset the oil life From what I recall you turn the key to the on position so all the lights on the dash light up (engine off) .Turn the key off and then restart the car that should do it.Keep me posted.then you step in the accelerator pedal to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds .
Well done, easy to follow.. thank you
Thanks for posting the video very nice job.
Would you know how to handle an oil pressure sensor/switch replacement for this car? (06 Cadillac STS)

Is this the same for the 2008 sts 3.6l???
I didn't change the o-ring...is that OK or is it mandatory
You don't have to .You should replace it if it is in poor condition.Don';t forget to check for leaks after you change the oil.
thanks
what oil do you recommend for a 2005 Cadillac sts?

I live in Arizona so it gets really hot out here but at this time the temperature starts to drop and gets a little chilli
+Jose Olvera I would switch back to the 5w30 and the mobile 1 is what is recommended for your car.that should resolve your problem.
Jose Olvera How cold does it get at night when you hear the noise.
def wont take my car to this guy so he can bang the car door up
