Just so everyone knows, the code in the game says that sugar cane does not grow faster on any type of block. This was just a visual representation of that, leading to my conclusion.

If anyone is planning to build a sugarcane farm do it on mud, because you can collect the sugarcane using a normal hopper underneath the mud. This is because the mud block is slightly shorter

I just assumed the rivers or oceans had something to do with it
It’s not working for me there’s sugarcane at the sensors and it hasn’t activated the pistons so I’m wondering if all the sugarcane all have to reach your sensor or should it work when one grows to the sensor cause for me right now nothing is happening
The game has some gamerule call "RandomTickSpeed" that mean how fast the game "Random" everything such as grow crops
