B. Smetana - Galopp di Bravura, JB 1:3 (Řepková)

First compositions by Smetana are more often than not dance forms, as the composer was a passionate dancer. These are from his late teens and include mostly small pieces like polkas, galopps or impromptus. Some of these pieces could seem straightforward and even a little silly, but proved to be determining when Smetana was deciding his future after graduating in Pilsen.

I never heard this before or saw the score, but one of the first things that crossed my mind is.... is this the origin of "stride." If you look at the left hand (by itself) at 0.17 you might think that this is a piano rag.
