  • Is the clever money on older british proofs? Are they underpriced compared to American proofs of similar rarity and historical interest. This video looks at some of the rarest and most beautiful British coins ever made.

    Great pieces!! I love the older Sovereigns. I originally bought them because they were a much better value than any American gold. Somewhere along the line, I became a great admirer of them. Once you begin the journey of collecting and stacking, you never know what you will end up being attracted to. For me, the British Sovereigns are my one true weakness.🙂✌️

    The 1871 sov. seems to show up VERY often, and IMO overvalued as supply seems to outstrip demand.
    I like half sovs but like the currency rarities and would float up the 1845 and 1879 as examples that trump the proofs of the era when in high grade.

    • @Numistacker
      @Numistacker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There seems to be very few proofs in good grades like there are few currency in good grades I target both of them

    seriously there are no coins under priced. Coins may become more overpriced in the future which gives the impression that coin prices today are under priced. The day of reckoning is coming for collector coins .Remeber what happened to stamps? Take a look at Auction estimates for stamps and compare with Catalogue prices.

      Stamps don't equate to wealth and power. Money does and always will. I highly doubt hobbyists and collectors will ever disappear as long as it's given such a reputation. The numbers may dwindle, but IMO, I expect when digital currency inevitably replaces old money, we'll see a future resurgence in hobbyists for those older coins and more so paper bills, as they are more prone to wear and tear and will become more elusive. Gold will always be favored amongst colectors, as it keeps it's value. The lure of wealth and power will never fade away.
