Yes, in the smash 4 poll he won in NA, JPN, and EU. Iwata had the real results, and Sakurai was told to delay Sora. Since they didn't have rights or the money to use him. So they fibbed the results that people saw and thought Sora was not coming.
It’s just amazing that we have Sora in Smash. I don’t play KH, but it’s unreal that Sora went from meeting characters like Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Elsa and Anna, Hercules to getting in Smash Bros.

Joker has both PT and student attire, Hero has four separate fighters in one choice, but Sora's eight alternates are all the same yet different in a sense. From I, II, 3D and III, it's like if Link's alternates are Links from other timelines rather than colour swapping.

The symbolism of the trailer itself is what makes me emotional. The Smash logo represents the spark of creativity and imagination that a child has with toys since the Smash fighters are canonically supposed to be toys being played by a kid. The fire is what gives them life, hence when the logo dissipated due to no more fighters being added, they all reverted back to figurines. However, a key to unlocking the imagination once more fell from the flaming logo, and its glimmer was enough to reawaken Mario, who picked up the blade and it unlocked the one character that was the KEY to so many people's childhoods.
Also, it took the man 6 years to get Sora in the game. They probably put in Bayonetta because it was so hard to persuade Disney, though that's just an assumption. Also, it sucks that the KH games are gonna be cloud only.

My favorite thing to do these past few days has just been watching all of the reactions to the Sora reveal and sharing in the pure joy and happiness that this announcement brings.
