Excellent advice! I've been a high school administrator for 13 years, and these tips all apply beautifully. Don't let the old-school feel of the powerpoint stop you from really listening to this video.
Before attending college and when I was a teenage, I was dreaming of being a good English teacher. I graduated from College of Education and specialized in teaching English Language as a foreign Language. Unfortunately, because of lack of class management I'm working in a hospital as a translator :( Hopefully your nice videos will help me in the concept of class management and one day my dream will come true.
I think that this was one of tbe best videos that I have seen in regards to this subject. Certainly a highly-experienced teacher. I was very impressed. Thanks you so much!
Your Video will help teachers with management of their classrooms to provide an effective learning environment for their middle school students Is Very Useful Sharing
Yes, on the first day of school I allow the students to help in creating the classroom rules, however, I do have my own which I share with them and then have a discussion in which the students always agree to. This allows them to feel apart of something and are more likely to follow.
Yes, the strategies talked about in this video would work for high school classrooms; in fact I observed some of the intern teachers that I supervise for a university program use these strategies successfully --
Very good suggestions or strategies when teaching children. I loved that part of those terms which may sound 'ambiguos' - It seems that the person talking who I believe is a teacher has lots of experience or has had the opportunity to put into practice theories and methodologies taught at Universities pretty well. Thanks for sharing these with teachers whose experience in teaching has been very short and are still struggling when going into class. The better planned the class, the better the results.
Thank you very much. Your tips are really interesting, useful and effective. Thank you for sharing them. May you be very happy in your professional goals and personal projects. Lots of peace and harmony to you and everyone else everywhere.
Very useful tips and strategies. The strategy I use depends on the subjects I teach and the setting where we conduct our class. It also depends on the type of learners and their culture.
I need advice on how to plan for 6 different grades. I just got hired as an elementary school English teacher for grades 1 through 6th and I don't know how to do that without going crazy. Last semester I taught English from 8th grade to 12th, I didn't know how to go about it. I'd come home from school and create lesson plans until midnight,EVERY NIGHT! I'm now going to have an extra group/grade so how do I plan for multiple groups without killing myself? My home can't be about school 24/7 again
It is never too late, it may be harder to start after the first day, but it can and should be done if needed -- I will address this in more detail in my blog -- check out the link on the channel
I do not have a written transcript, but one can go to the website referenced at the end of every video (mastermiddleschoolmath) to purchase the Power Point slides with or without the narrations -- I am also in the process of writing a book that will be available in the coming year -- thanks for your interest
Part two is the Student Engagement video. "Student Engagement and Motivation Strategies and Tips" -- go to the video tab on the Smartatmath channel page --
