Dara is the PERFECT contestant -- clearly very intelligent but daft as a brush, doesn't take himself serious, hilariously quick witted & just overall a lovely bloke who gels with everyone.
It is crazy how good dara was at everything on taskmaster. He was a genius with tasks but also had hilarious moments to remember him, he had enough self irony to have fun in the show and his banter was so quick and genius
My favorite moment is in one of the team tasks when they have to make their faces out of clay, and John asks what color eyes Dara has, he answers blue, and John asks is it sinatra blue and Dara just says shut up.
When we all first turned on the first episode of this series and got the first prize task, ‘Most Jaw Dropping Item’, and we saw that Dara had brought those cartoon images of Greg and Alex, we KNEW he was there to play, and he was there to win. It was such a strong opening moment to this series, still surprised that it didn’t get the full 5 points actually, I thought Greg would’ve thought it was best as it is about him, of course.
I remember Fern won that prize task so checked the wiki to remind myself of what it is, and I can see why she won as hers was a chicken named after her that died during lockdown.
@@iliketrains3495 yes, completely understandable, and of course, no one argues with the titan that is Greg Davies, his judgement is supreme and we need to just accept it. He is the be all end all haha. I’ve seen you comment a few times, I’m guessing you’re as big of a fan of the show as I am? Haha
Myself, I would have included Dara's reaction to Fern's 'diss' track when they had to compose lyrics to a piece of classical music (Episode 4). When Fern says that Dara sucks up to people, his reaction is priceless!
The 'Find the back of your hand' task is one of my favourite tasks ever... a great idea and setup, a different approach from every contestant, all tied together by superb editing
@@alloallieWe knew that already. The milk bottle task, Dara just realised what he'd done and walked out of the room, disappointed with himself, and just said "arse", whereas he genuinely cried at the end of the hand task
As a quite senior and well-established comedian at this point in his career, it's great to see Dara absolutely willing to make a fool of himself and go hard in every task. He's absolutely a smart man but also lost gracefully (most of the time. Except for John's sabotage). Much respect.
That acting that Dara did at the end was so good. Film Noir is one of my favourite genres of film and you can see that it's very noir. The shadows over the door and the way Dara speaks and how little speech there is. Classic noir. Reminded me of Robert Mitchum or Humphrey Bogart in film noirs they did.
This lineup is one of my favorites in Taskmaster history and Dara is a huge reason why. He had terrific performances in the tasks throughout all 10 episodes, which led to a huge score, and made him a standout. He also was part of one of the best in-studio bantering casts, which showed a lot of chemistry. Tremendous cast (Sarah's joy and ebullience (plus a little saltiness once in a while), Munya's charm and cheek (entirely underrated!), John's comic ineptness (despite winning 2 episodes!), Fern's willingness to do and try anything (absolute joy)) with a tremendous champion.
@@e.l5863 Can't access the series in Australia and so I've only ever seen two full series - this was one of them, but from the shorts I've seen from some of the others this cast remains my favourite by far (although I did love Victoria - she was brilliant).
I think it's safe to say that Dara is the single best contestant to ever compete in Taskmaster. At least the UK version as I don't know how to compare the other world versions.
Hi Dara, you’re cool! I remember you trying to explain the Dutch word ‘gezelligheid’ to the whole audience. Nice meeting you. Kind regards, Frances en Theo
I thought that no one would overtake Ed Gamble as the most overly competitive contestant ever on the show but Dara might actually have done it. He is better at holding in his emotions than Ed is but under the surface you can just see him fuming when things don’t go his way, ESPECIALLY during Team tasks.
They had to hold two milk bottles over the microwaves without touching the microwaves, and the idea was they delayed opening the task for as long as possible; it was taken from the NZ series with slight changes
In this new season's set where there replaced the shed with another caravan, where do contestants find balls, and pipes, and random stuff to build things with??
@@colleenmay3936 hmm maybe? i don't think we've seen them use it. Just a gripe from me i guess, that I've found the set to become really overbuilt the last few seasons. Especially in the garden. It looks cool but I think it limits the contestants' space and creativity.

Truth!
Dara, is that you? 🤣
Daft as a brush? He seems 0% daft to me.
He's one of the few winners who won both the show and the hearts of the audience.
Not too shabby to look at either
He’s such a fundamentally gentle man and it was so much fun to see him progressively lose it during the team tasks. 😂

It’s brilliant that the milk bottle task was probably Dara’s worst moment in the show, and yet was still so funny just from his reaction 😂
There is nothing more cinematic when Dara couldn't find his own hand
That was honestly some Breaking Bad level cinematography. The production team should be really proud of it.
@@dp-g5iI wouldn't call it Breaking Bad cinematography. There was no piss filter.

It helped that Dara got the script and understood that Kearns was going for the minimalist approach, not sure the others would have done it justice.

If only this compilation had Dara’s classic song about defenestration. I would’ve really liked to have had more of Dara’s face in this video 😆
Dara's performance of John's play was truly impressive. Especially when you consider he had nothing to work with.

Dara’s performance in Door(s) is top tier with Lyka, Always seeing You(Do cool stuff), and Pea(the short toilet paper airplane film)

The only 2 ways to make a show better is to either add Dara O’briain or Hugh Dennis to it. They make everything a thousand times better.
Imagine if they did a show together
@@edwardsimpson119 Yeah, a show where Dara is the host and Hugh gets all the questions right and is on every episode.
Hugh Dennis? You mean that guy from James Bond film No Time to Die? How'd Taskmaster snag a superstar like him?
It was exceptionally enjoyable to watch Dara perform the tasks. And holy shit I was not prepared for that play when that task came around.
I'm just now realizing that Dara's "Ooh Ma Baby" character had an accent because he was parodying The Battleship Potemkin.
Dara was an absolute legend on the show.
Dara was great on the show. Really enjoyed the whole cast and their interactions in team tasks
The hands task … i missed just how many Right hands they kept choosing even after remembering the Left hand had been photographed. 😂
