Wow! Brookies, Rainbows, Cutthroat, Cutbows and Tigers? That is a special stream!
Right?? It was awesome!
Don't get me wrong , I love livin in Texas ! Love fishin my ponds for Bass and Bluegills , but I might trade ya . That is an awesome stream , no people , lots of fish , and Mother Nature at her finest ! Have to admit I'm a little jealous 👍👍
It really was an epic place to fish. Thanks for watching!
Just great to be able to hike 5 miles in the wild!!
It was fantastic 😁
Gorgeous scenery, gorgeous fish, fast action, doesn’t get any better than that!
Agreed!
Great video Tristan. There are few things I enjoy more than exploring new, unknown water and having it wildly exceed my expectations. Thanks!
Same! 😄
Thanks for showing this very beautiful stream. What a gem!
Thanks for watching!
Nice one!! Thanks for taking us along...cheers!!
Thanks for watching!
It doesn't get much better than this
I agree!
What a great day of fishing. I have been practicing with my first tenkara rod on local panfish. Can't wait to hit the streams.
Incredible river! Just goes to show that the effort of getting off the beaten path and going where no one else usually goes is totally worth it!
Absolutely!
The best places are always the ones you never hear about.
Wow!! Awesome stream. Great vid as usual. Spring fever setting in hard. Sincerely, Jealous from California.
I'm jealous of my past self too 😄
What a creek! That creek looked like “Tenkara Perfection”! The 1st two “Tenkara style” rods I purchased a couple years ago was the triple zoom Dragontail Mizuchi and the triple zoom Tenkara USA Sato. While Tenkara USA rods fall into the more expensive category for a non-Japan made rod the Sato is a really/really nice rod in my opinion. It’s action is sweet. Soft enough to enjoy fighting small trout but just enough backbone for a “medium sized trout”(over 12”ish). Keep up the good videos and we’ll keep “liking & subscribing”! Neil from Texas
I agree! The Sato is a really nice rod that most people could use as their only rod and be completely happy with.
I still have yet to catch a tiger trout. I fish primarily in the the driftless area of Wisconsin and Iowa. Tiger trout are not stocked but they are very rare and naturally occurring.
A nice variety of fish in that stream..
What a fantastic stream! Definitely keep this one a secret.
Nice, trout heaven much 😊
I’m envious.
You make it look so easy to set the hook and land them. You could do a whole explainer video on your methods. Nice video!
Absolutely amazing stream. Thanks for sharing. Clearly this stream does not get much pressure!
Definite fun day, When you venture where no man dares to venture, the fishing is easy.
Beautiful dude. These videos are always my favorite way to start the weekend
That's great to hear! I appreciate you watching 😁
Really like your show
Thanks!
I have to say I enjoy your tenkara videos more than any others I've found. Your enthusiasm is inspiring! Thank you for always showing the fly you're using.
Love the upright bass entry... More more more!
Quad catch
Terrible situation, just Terrible I tell ya!
Wow! And if this doesn't feed Spring fever....Thanks!
Always a good Saturday when one of your Videos drops!
06:51 Gorgeous Parr marks!
This stream is so much larger than your usual yard-or-two wide streams, and the size and variety of species also make it really interesting. In Utah!
Wow awesome fishing
Bigger stream than you usually fish, but super productive. Beautiful water. Seems like you were able to maneuver through it pretty well. Thanks, as always, for the adventure!
You definitely found your dream stream! I never seen so many catches in almost every cast. I really need to try this style of fishing
OMG! I think I had almost as much fun watching you catch all those fish as you did catching them! What a great stream, what a great video! Thanks!!!
That was a GREAT fishing day! You are such a good fisherman, Tristan.
Looks like you found the stream at the end of the rainbow. What an awesome day, and that Tiger trout was spectacular. Thanks, and enjoy.
The Tiger Trout was amazing. Love watching your channel. Can't wait for the next fishing adventure.
This was great, couldnt believe you were catching so many. The scenery is gorgeous.
Make a wish type stream. Enjoyed watching you fish it.
That was a really great video! So many fish, beautiful stream, wonderful scenery. Thanks for sharing!
I love the effort you go to to find stunning water! Really admirable and it makes great viewing. Thanks for sharing
What a gorgeous and very fun video! One of the prettiest places I’ve seen in awhile. So awesome to catch so many, and with such variety. Enjoyed this, thanks so much!
Quite an impressive outing! What I also found remarkable was that stream flow - I mean, in August? To enjoy flows like that is pretty amazing. Where I fish in the east, our August was one of record drought. So good to see such a healthy stream!
We have big mountains out West.
Another fantastic video flick. My first Tenkara rod was the Sato. Got it a few years ago well before the company changed hands. Excellent quality rod. It’s goes with me on every outing along with a Tiny Ten and a Hellbender Dragontail and as such am covered for almost any situation. Well done sir. Mahalo!
Great stream. Nothing like a fifty fish day! Only had a couple of fifty fish days here in Utah.
I notice that you have some difficulties setting the hook when the timber and/or scrub crowd the stream. One of the things that I was taught was to just lift my elbow to avoid setting the hook abruptly. I have found it useful also when conditions are tight in the fishing window. I hope this can help.
That is a once in a lifetime find!
Like the rest of us we are just waiting for the Late spring and summer weather to really start catching trout. I have not had to much success with nymphing this winter and the activity has been pretty low.
Great outing, thanks Tristen for sharing.
Figured that last big, beautiful pool would hold the biggest fish--another surprise! I'd name this stream, "Happy Surprise!"
What a great river.
Great video! Can you tell me where you ordered your net from? Thanks! Tight lines!
Wow! Just..... wow!
Awesome video,Tristan.
Tenkara technique is just perfect for this size stream with trout to 2 pounds.
That looks like a cheetah trout (brook-rainbow hybrid). If you didn’t see any browns but you seen brooks and bows (and cut-bow hybrids), it would stand to reason that your patterned hybrid is a little more special than a tiger trout.
I think it stands to reason that I'd catch something that has been planted into the lake that this stream flows into (tiger trout) versus something that hasn't really been documented in my part of the world (cheetah trout).
So rare that I had to look up Cheetah Trout, and I would have to agree. It looked like a Cheetah Trout. You learn something new every day.
What an amazing place!!!
I have one Tenkara fly fishing rod same your !👍
Nice! It's a good rod 👍
Congrats on the Trout (hybrid) Slam!
(even though I hate to see the native cutthroat gene pool getting watered down with rainbows)
Just found your channel and I subscribed. Really enjoy your videos so far. What rod are you using
Can you describe or show the knots you use for level line to Lillian and level line to tippet? I know there are other peoples videos out there but curious what YOU use. Thanks.
A1 stream for sure!! A few questions....
Was your drive ,to get there longer than 2 hours?
How long did the hike in take?
Would camping be suitable along the waterway?
What a day! Please tell me your rig: which line and length, how much tippet and the fly/flies. Thanks much.
I’m guessing that the streams you are fishing are public waters. I’m also guessing that these little streams see very little fishing pressure which partially explains why the fishing is so good. It seems as though your black and gold kebari seems to be your most productive fly. I want to try fishing softhackles the same way you fish kebari style flies.
I’m guessing you fish primarily by sight. Do you also weight your fliescso you can feel the strikes?
What line are you using and how long was it? What length on the rod were you using as well on that Sato?
sweet
Hey Tristan. Where can I get the net you're using? Loving the built in ruler!
Hi, great videos on Tenkara! Where did you get your net from? (the net with the measurements) Thanks
Could those cutthroat trout be red band cutthroat?
Can you tell me about line length and type, level line etc, you were fishing with? Nice content, I am more than excited for spring to get here!
Another awesome video well done some really nice fish
That is fishing Nirvana.
Don't tell anyone where that stream is at, probably enough people already there.
What a productive creek, absolutely gorgeous and full of fish! What a great day. Thanks for taking us along.
It was a great day, for sure! Thanks for watching.
Do you have any rod recommendations for a tenkara starter who likes slow action fly rods and hopefully affordable as well? Thank you so much!
Tristan, how would you compare the Sato to the Mizuchi and Suzume?
The Sato is longer than both of those rods. The Rhodo is a more similar equivalent as far as length goes. But they all feel pretty similar. The Sato feels nice for its length. Probably a bit better than the Mizuchi, which can feel a tad stiff, depending on the size of the fish you're going for. The Suzume feels the lightest of the three. The Rhodo has a sort of in-between feel, between the Suzume and the Mizuchi.
Thanks Tristan!
You don’t have to give away your secrets, but could you tell us what states you’re in please?
Good intro music. Where is it from?
It looks to me that tiger trout would be better named leopard trout. 🤔
I know this was not a rod review but what were your thoughts.
I’m new to tenkara are there any waders anyone would recommend for a beginner?? Thanks!!
İsnt there any bear around there. How do you protect yourself against them ?
Do you use Gink, or just let your fly sink?
Uintas, not sure what drainage this one is.
What pound leader please ?
Tristan this is not criticism but holy cow how many Tenkara rods do you own?
50 or 60. I've actually sold some in the past few months to make more room 😄
@@SUVRVing life is short indulge in what makes you happy Buy More rods.
Are you wet wading? It must be cold water.
Yes wet wading, and yes, it was cold water 😁
Oh never mind I found it.
Got to be honest I just don't see the appeal to fish with a 9 ft stick.
