Very clever, hacking a new part from an existing CAD file!

    👍👍😎👍👍
Of course we don't know the operating loads, but material couples can be a critical design feature for moving parts to prevent galling. Had the customer considered if a different non-metalic was feasible? Or if increasing the cross section at the failure location was possible? Maybe this arm failed because something jammed and the arm was actually a fuse in the system to minimize damage elsewhere? It's always exciting to reverse engineer a part and then discover what design details were never shared or known 😉. Thanks so much for sharing the CAD/CAM details on this very interesting project. Looking forward to Part 2

Yeah, that is the problem with these black curtain jobs. I agree about the intentional fail point you mentioned, like the plastic gear in a lathe drive, the guy was tight on cash and didn’t even want anodize

@@DragonflyEngineering - I completely understand. You were providing the service requested and doing a damn nice job of it 👍👍

Just curious how much would you charge the customer

About $500 for 2 sets and cad. Thanks for watching!

    hello
you must use stock model together with optirough it is very important so that it takes into account your 3Dpart and what is left of stock.
    it removes the air cut.

Huh, I would have thought the gears of the two paddles mesh with each other.

Yeah, I agree, sort of a mystery. Thanks for watching!
