  • We look at how to grow Amaryllis species such as the Belladonna Lily or 'Naked Lady' Bulb. These late summer flowing bulbs come in a number of colours, easy to grow in a sunny position.
    We also look at why they may not be flowering.

      I shall! Always better to see it done, rather than read it. I planted my naked ladies this morning (much too late I realise for this year), but nevertheless, hopefully they will be good for next year. Have a nice day & thanks once again!

    Should i cut the dead leaves? No videos have this whole process, just a description.

      Good point, should have been in the video. Yes, once they die back remove them. This keeps the slugs and snails away. A little mulch around the clump is also good for them. (Not over them, just around them) And thanks for watching.

    i have belladonna lily in the ground now the flowers are dying, do i leave them in the ground?

      The flowers come first, then the foliage. You need to let the foliage grow and then die back as this gives the bulb energy for the next year. As for digging, we do not dig ours at all. However in depends a little on the climate zone, Let Us Know

      I depends on you climate zone. I milder zones you can plant them in the ground now and they will flower in fall/autumn. In colder areas they will need protection from frosts and freezes.

    How often should you divid them?

    • @johnnyAGardening
      @johnnyAGardening  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We divide ours every 5 - 6 years, as the clump multiplies and looks congested. You can leave them longer, we have a few old clumps that have not been divided for 15 years, the flowers are not as good, however they still grow and do flower.
