    If you’re planning on doing an engine rebuild on your Yamaha Raptor 700R, we can help you out. We’re doing an engine build on a 2017 Yamaha Raptor 700R, and it all starts with the bottom end.
    We’ll start by getting our parts clean, and then we’ll work on pressing the bearings into place on the crankcase halves. Next, we’ll install the crankshaft assembly. Once we’ve got it in place, we can build up the transmission and get it installed before we take care of the last few housekeeping chores and close up the crankcase.
    Check out these diagrams to see where we’re working:

    If you heat the cases in the oven or grill to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and freeze the bearings they drop right in

      Yes! We have some more GSXR videos in the works. Subscribe for notifications, or keeping hanging in the comments and we'll let you know when some new stuff is ready. We like to jump around and work on a couple machines from our garage at a time. Gotta share the love... This Raptor engine was a beast! Took some serious time.

    The last bearing you installed on the case with the oil seal behind it for the upper counter balance shaft has a groove on it. Does that go towards the outside of the case?

    I'm working on a 2006 700R and it has clips on the shift fork shafts on either side of each fork. This makes this assembly ridiculous because you cannot build it as shown here. Has anyone removed the clips on the shift fork shafts on a 2006 with no issues?

    • @chrisross3955
      @chrisross3955 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scott Puopolo that’s my question! He makes it look really easy but this illustration can’t be completely relevant to the 06 model. Frustrating!

    Thank You for posting this! I was planning on having my 07 raptor rebuilt this summer, but was hesitant to do it myself. After watching this video, I might give a crack! Did you by chance have a disassembly video?

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not for this one as we ordered every part from Yamaha to build it. 528 parts to be exact!

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We built this one from scratch, SportsRoof -- so no disassembly this time. We do have a few other engine teardown videos if you're looking for a general reference -- or you can always shoot us a question in the comments here if you have any specific questions while you're breaking yours down.

    I have a 2007 Yamaha raptor 700. the chain was set too loose and it wrapped around the front sprocket and busted the case and bent the shifting rod. I had the case welded at the local machine shop and replaced the shift rod only to find the quad only has 1st and reverse. My questions are how similar is a 2007 for 2017 and does your website have the correct parts for my year. Much appreciated

    Hi mate, I am going to be rebuilding a raptor 700 engine soon for a mate, I was just wondering, do you need a bearing press like you used or can you just use a bearing driver like what is used for wheel bearings? Thanks

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A press is much easier, but you can get them in and out manually with a driver.
