On a 400 hour durability test on a 6 cylinder engine the ring gaps were set as per the video. On strip down the gaps were all over the place conclusion is that ring gaps do not have to be set at specific angles from each other.
hi guys i just had a quick question its a bit off topic but i need help. i just did the bottom end on my 2008 honda crf 250r because there was a little bit of play in the left crank bearing, everything is done correctly but there still is the same amount of play in the left crank bearing. it was all my money that i invested in it and i really dont know what to do now or what the problem is. can you explain what could be wrong? i also just put the bottom end completely together and tearing it apart again would be a nightmare.
I am currently building the same engine and for some reason my oil rings will not set into the cylinder correctly. The top two compression rings go in fine but as soon as oil rings go in it binds up
@@PartzillaParts Do brands matter? I hear a lot of folks say Harbor Freight is trash only grab Craftsman or better. What is your opinion on the brand? They are expensive, only want to buy once.
Hi, on my 1998 Yamaha tw200’s carburetor’s main jet, there is a plastic catch of some sort. And I don’t know which ways it goes. If someone could tell me I would appreciate it!
Hi I have a question.. my 04 rancher ES 4x4 has something wrong with foot brake. I took off cables and springs, pulled split pin and washer ready to take off brake pedal but it just won’t come off. I sprayed liquid wrench but no impact. The pedal moves as much as how it has been, just about half info or so up and down. Any suggestions to how I can pull off the brake pedal? Thank you!
Shaine MacDonald Heating it...I’ll try. The problem is that there’s no room to swing a hammer.. it will have to come off away from the frame but I’ll give it a try. Thank you!
Shaine MacDonald Update: it didn’t come off so I used trusted wheel cutter and cut it off. A bit of cut in to welded shaft for the brake pedal but not too bad. I’ll sand the shaft and give it a slightly smaller diameter, placing an order for the brake pedal from Partszilla...
Best Mechanic ever !! who knows how to treat with the engine :)

its only for break in after that it doesn't matter and yes they rotate but if you start them that way they break in better

you have to put the middle of the three oil rings in first then the two flat ones
Love the videos. Thanks sir!
You mention a quality torque wrench several times. What would you consider quality? How long will a torque wrench be accurate?
The clicker or digital versions are good. Just don't use them as a hammer!

Is that for 11:1 compression piston?

The shaft is rusted! Remove plastic parts, heat shaft with propane torch. Then use small sledgehammer to knock it off.
