I just got a GoPro max for Father’s Day and I have a modular Schuberth. Awesome video and thank you for posting this! Cheers from San Diego!

Greetings, Tom. The Schuberth is a great helmet and the set up here will work awesomely on that helmet - you will just need to sort the fittings you need.
To be able to see what you’re recording is so critical - great views down the bike every time 👍
All the best with your set-up - have fun 😁
Thanks for your kind comments, they’re really appreciated.
Greetings back to you from Oz ✌️
      Cheers, Len

What microphone do you use? One I use with the media mod on GoPro 8 Black, sometimes gives mono sound, so looking for something which works well with the media mod.
Keep up the great work. Love Australian content. So much more laid back.

Greetings, Spyder 67. Thanks for your kind comments, they’re really appreciated.
The microphone I use is a Røde Lavalier Go. I have one in my helmet which I plug into my GoPro Media Mod and another I use to connect to my Røde Wireless Go ii set-up to the GoPro media mod.
I know with the wireless system I can get sound in mono if I don’t set it up correctly, but I’m not sure why you’re having issues with your current set-up with the Media Mod. Maybe someone else here could help?
I hope you’re enjoying the ride. Take care👍
    Cheers, Len

Thanks for posting, I was setting up a setup similar to yours on my modular helmet and was wondering is there a lot of weight pulling down on the 3M mounting piece? I was thinking that maybe since there is a bit of a long arm and the weight of the camera that it would twist off the sticky mount after riding and hitting bumps.

Greetings, that’s something I was wondering myself when setting up the configuration. However, once the 3M mount is installed, nothing is going to get it off short of a dedicated operation to remove it. I recently set one up on a friend’s helmet and once he finished the shoot he tried to remove it… it’s still there.
It’s important to make sure that the mounting surface is cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, or similar, and that the mount is located on a surface that can give full, or near full contact between the two surfaces - you will probably need a slightly curved 3M mount. This may mean that the mount may sit “crooked” and not follow the lines of the helmet. But the important thing is that it is secure.
Since installing the mount I’ve never worried about it.
I hope this helps, and all the best with your adventures.
      Cheers, Len

I have a simimlar setup on mine, with the mount just a little further back on the chin bar. I have absolute fits trying to control wind noise. I've tried regular foam filters, thicker foam filters, dead cat filter over the foam, and still I get the wind noise even with the mic right next to my mouth and visor down. I don't know what else to do.
Your sources seem to be mainly Australian, but I have gotten most of my parts on Amazon.
Did you use the supplied adhesive that came with the mount (two sided sticky 3M)? I tried that initially and the leverage on it from the weight of the GoPro pulled it off immediately. I was told to try Sugru mouldable adhesive, and I can say it works like a charm. That mount will never come off!
    Thanks for your suggestions! 😎🏍🏍🏍🏍👌👍🕶

Hi, thanks for your comments. Regarding the wind noise, I’m thinking that the excessive noise really depends on the speed you are travelling. Of course, this seems obvious However, I’ve noticed that most in helmet voice over commentary is done at slower speeds. If you watch any Itchy Boots, or other Moto vloggers, they seem to record in-helmet at slower speeds. I might not be rights here, but I know this is the case for me.
Regarding my supplier of parts, AliExpress, yes it is the Aussie version, but in sure that are universal. Of course, Amazon is also another e-commerce site.
I haven’t had any problem at all with the 3M adhesive on my GoPro helmet mount. But I can imagine what a pain that must have been for you. I’m pleased you’ve sorted the problem.
      Cheers,
      Len

My footage of Wales 6+ hrs I had the Gopro set wrong. Also the batterries werent great. But first day was 38c and that drained then.
I think I needed to have it in top spec also. (16mm).
Also the media mod mic was muffled so have to sort that!
But I have a test to pass so wasnt overly fussed. Experience for me key anything else a bonus.

I want this exact setup. I’m having issues finding the parts.

Hi, John. Yes, it can be a bit confusing. It took me two orders before I got the fittings I needed.
I just ordered what I thought I’d need and tried them. I then re ordered for the bits I needed to make it work.
Go to Ali Express and search for GoPro Fittings.
You will need one of the curved arms and a few tightening knobs, plus straight connectors - long and short.
Also, 90° connectors - long and short.
The base connector plate is best if it is adjustable swivel, but not necessary.
Once set up, it’s just so convenient to use.
All the best with your setup.
      Cheers, Len

Could you please post the links to the various components on aliexpress? Thanks!

Greetings, I’ve tried to copy some links from Ali Express, but it’s just not working.
However, I bought my arms and fitting from a number of sellers on the site. Type in “GoPro fittings arms” and heaps will come up. Just choose the bits you think you will need.
      Sorry I can’t help more.
      Cheers,
      Len

The double-sided tapes on these never stay put for longer than a few month.

the media mod makes changing battery such a pain in the arse i feel like u need a external battery but then a wire from say your pocket to your helmet seems kinda meh, might try the chest mount and see whats that like just because 4k vid only gets like 40-55 min footage then its a ballache to change the cam
