Incredible, the possibilities. I just received a mail from Twee to say that they are going to have a paid usage, but a free, reduced usage, for educators will also be available. The trial period is apparently over. I'll wait and see what will be on offer. Thanks once again Russell for taking the time to give us a look at this technology.
Very limited usage for the free versions. However it is possible to look at the ideas and develop ChatGPT prompts for most of the Twee activities. I haven't found one that produces such a good transcript from TH-cam though.
Twee has announced there is now a subscription access being introduced, but this is totally it. The only caveat is to check the output as it is not infallible, as Russell mentions. As an aside, I experimented with Twee and (to test it) asked it to generate a review of a fast food joint but pretend it is a Michelin restaurant ... the output was very funny!
I've been using this for a few months. It saves sooo much time. I don't know if it will save PDFs with and without keys, which would be useful. On a separate point, have you, or will you be doing videos on Youglish and Turnitin?
How does one ensure that the AI doesn't go rogue and start producing false news or hate speech? This is incredibly important and doesn't seem to be being covered anywhere. Also do you think that, in the long term, tools such as this will bring about widespread de-skilling?
Ensuring AI ethics is crucial. Twee.com and similar tools rely on responsible AI development and human oversight to prevent false news or hate speech. Continuous monitoring, guidelines, and ethical AI principles are essential safeguards. As for de-skilling, while tools can assist, they're meant to enhance, not replace, human skills, encouraging innovation in teaching rather than de-skilling in the long term.

While there are limited free AI tools specifically for oral assessments, you can use Google Forms combined with the free audio recording tool Vocaroo for students to submit their recorded responses.

It does. There is a button on the right to turn off and off the key. The only problem is it looks like it is now going to be a paid tool!
