Even the interview of the woman (Abilene) the day of the attack that killed the poor man - she was constantly shifting blame, giving excuses and trying to convince the investigator that she and her husband weren't to responsible. What an example for their kids, who are probably already just like them.

I feel bad for the dogs and the victims, both of which never stood a chance. These dogs were being breed and trained to be fighting dogs. The prosecutor and the evidence allude to as much. These dogs were not pets to this couple but rather money making, fragile ego boosting dogs that they could intentionally raise through torture and control to be weapons. I can almost guarantee you that they were not born this way (nature vs nurture). I hope they are sentenced to the max of 20 years each. Even her smiling when they showed the photo of all the various stages of healing injuries on the black one made me have a visceral reaction.
The animal shelter is responsible as well for not demeaning the dogs dangerous and putting them down! Instead, they let the owners get the dogs back.

The victim’s widow brought a suit against the city recently. Good for her; consequences might be the only way to get ACS to do their job.

This is Mind Blowing!! These 2 Negligent People need to be held accountable!! Also the County should be held accountable because they let these people have their dogs back KNOWING the History! It’s Not the Dogs Fault it’s the owner! ANY Responsible dog owner would have known these dogs were dangerous and would have elected to put them down OR make SURE they couldn’t hurt anyone or another animal! My Brother had 2 Pits he loved like his Children, They got out of his TALL fenced in yard and killed a cow and hurt another one belonging to his Neighbors, he Put them both down! He LOVED these two dogs but he knew they couldn’t ever be trusted again!

Those dogs looked so mistreated. If you own an aggressive breed you should be licensed and have training how to raise and look after them. The owners have 100% accountability! A prison sentence will stand as a deterrent for other negligent owners. This terrible tragedy could have been avoided. God bless the victims and their families😢

My daughter rescued a pit bull puppy. Never owing a pit bull before and hearing how dangerous these dogs can be. I told my daughter we must get some books on pit bulls, and we must be responsible owners of an animal that can be a problem. We raised this dog with love, care and responsibility. We kept him leashed and guided him around people, children and other dogs, keeping in mind these animals were bred to fight and be aggressive. With that in mind,he grew into a wonderful family pet. He lived 13 years, when he passed my daughter rescued another pit bull. This one was a little older when we got him and came out of a bad situation. He started showing traits of aggression. I told her to take him to the vet and get his opinion. At the vets advice we had to put him down. It killed us but we couldn’t chance someone being hurt or killed. Owning anything that can be dangerous is the owners responsibility.

As an Australian,🇦🇺 watching this trial has been devastating. All Pitbulls are deemed as dangerous dogs in our country & are banned. They are reported, captured & destroyed when found, no questions asked. Too many children (& like in this case, vulnerable adults) have been fatally attacked by these vicious killer breeds. It’s unbelievable the dogs in this instance (who were clearly active fighter dogs) were returned to their negligent, repulsive, irresponsible owners time & time again. Jail time is the only answer. Absolute shame on them.

I have had several pit-bulls, and a Doberman, One would have to train them to be aggressive. We did not. They were cuddly and silly and sweet. Yes, they patrolled our property. Yes, they barked, and growled and we listened to them. My heart breaks when I see animals Mis-trained.

That time was an elder but could be a kid; a pregnant woman; mailman; Amazon, UPS or any box delivery; anyone else attacked by dogs. If owners know dogs are able to climb or escape from the yard, they have to be accountable for consequences. It is a very sad situation for both families 😢
As a former Animal Control Officer, I agree with the widow in the fact that ACS is partially responsible. They returned those dpgs to their "owners" without any incestogation into the extent of the dabger they posed to the community.
They didnt make SURE the dogs were confined to tgeir property and properly taken card of. For ACS to just give the dogs bavk in the condition they were in is reprehensible. There should have been an immediate investigation into WHY those dogs had all of those wounds.

I would agree with one of the prosecutors statements when he said they just didn’t care that is proven by the wife’s constant, smirking, laughing and goofing with her husband throughout the trial I found that to be more than disrespectful.
