Artificial Brain has this signature "brutiful" sound thats just in the sweet spot of being repugnantly dissonant and gorgeously harmonic at the same time. Theres some piano covers out there that really highlight it.
Easily my favourite death metal ever. Big Will is also my favourite death metal vocalist. He left this band but is in a bunch of other bands like Afterbirth, Reeking Aura, etc.
I think the celestial cyst can have two meanings to me: - The madman is calling the planet that's destroyed a celestial cyst because he hated said planet and that's why he calls destroying it "not a crime" - The hull/spaceship he's leading the last human race on is the celestial cyst since it's very abnormal for something like that to be floating, living, growing and flying around in space.
YES I love this band. One of my favorite modern death metal groups along with blood incantation and tomb mold. I hope you check out more of them. All three albums are great but labyrinth constellation is stellar. (pun intended)
No, this mix is muffled and VERY quiet. When I play this on a streaming site I have to turn up the volume quite a bit. The weird thing is that the LP is more equalized than the digital versions. Either way, fantastic album. The dissonance is perfect with this band (like you said, it doesn't dominate the soup or become like nails on a chalkboard). Vocals are intentionally muffle-growled--the previous vocalist had that style. Their new vocalist is Inter Arma's vocalist Mike Paparo who brings MUCH more variety from what I've seen of their live videos.
Not my favourite from the suggestions in the Patreon-poll for this theme. But then it was a REALLY solid list and I enjoy this as well as more or less everything in the music from that list!
I find plenty of more Black'y touches on this album. Melodies, atmosphere, over-distorted guitars, etc. And all this organically combined with technical tricks. About the best album I heard recently. Their previous "Infrared horizon" vastly differs from this one: it's more or less what you would expect from techno-DM, no BM presence.
That's my favorite album from the last few years, so atmospheric. There are better songs on it in my opinion, lofty grave is my favorite. The vocals are insane, unfortunately the vocalist left the band.
It feels a bit more muddy or less clarity in the low-mids, unfortunately. Infrared Horizon mix is really good. I even prefer the first album production above this one.
@@markblaauw4961 The vocals fit the band perfectly. He sounds like a cyborg. I dont understand how they'd be "forced". Doesnt even make sense, how can metal vocals be forced?

these guys are super underrated. One of the most unique death metal bands right now.
Love this band! Frog noises over dissonance. Nice
Frog noises! Nice.
Ferocious
One of my favorite bands! Their best is Labyrinth Constellation. All their albums are incredible, but that one is something special.
Love this band, I own the guitar tabs for all the albums. Incredibly creative dissonance, would love to see you listen to more!

Love all the contrasting melodies in the instruments. Surprisingly melodic for tech death

Totally agree with you, and i would add to this list Afterbirth with same vocalist
I liked this on a first listen.

Thrives in the Dissonance... i feel dissonance/tension sounds better...
The release isn't always necessary... could sit in the chaos longer...

Hey, this was my pick, so of course it was the favorite! As evidenced by the patreon vote :)

Not sure why this album feels like a step backward production-wise. Think they nailed the production on the second album

I like the instrumentals.
Not a fan of the vocals on this one.
I fully agree with that. The vocals are a bit forced.
@@markblaauw4961 Nooo way lol
@justsomejusstsome8994 Ehm yeah 🙃
