At the end of one of the greatest concerts we have ever had the privilege of being in the presence of, Prince came back on stage to sing Purple Rain. I think that last song went on for more then 45 minutes! When it got to the end part of the song-the arena exploded with voices singing for him! It was so amazing-there is no way to put it into words to accurately describe it. It went on and on and he fell to the ground and cried while everyone sang TO him. By the time it all ended there was NO ONE in that arena that wasn't crying. as we walked out to our vehicles-everyone that you looked at was still crying. There was no usual "after concert" excitement or talking and laughing, all you could hear and see were people crying. And in case you misunderstand, it wasn't sad crying- it was the kind of crying when you are so deeply involved in something that all your emotions come out in tears. Watching him FEEL the whole arena singing TO him was the most amazing sight and feeling I have ever felt. I will never forgot those moments in time! I still feel like this day was yesturday! Everytime I hear this song-I zone out and can remember and feel every moment!

just saw Sheila E's halftime show for Timberwolves and she started with Prince's song Housequake. You can see she's still hurting & mourning her friend. She tried but fell flat. Prince's energy was missing from the dancers to the performers. Wasn't tight like he did it. But I appreciate her for bringing his spirit through song for everyone to remember again. I miss Prince too. Can't fight fate. When he scaled back his high energy performances to intimate ones and talked of being bored and liked sleeping more, something he rarely been known to do it felt like he was tired & reserved his fate. In Dialogues of Plato he said the spirit is at a constant battle with the body. The body is breaking down from the day were born till tge day we die. It wants to return back to where it came from. There, there was no illness no pain, no need for all the things a decaying body needs to sustain itself. And so it goes. Reasoning for why people die young even in childhood. I cried for days after the news hit. He was a musical genius, my generations mozart and I was truly privileged to have seen, heard and been part of it. He did so much for charities, fans and other stories he came across and unlike celebrities of today who do everything for likes and fame. This man is truly missed.
Prince was the ultimate entertainer. I was privileged to see him in concert 3xs…and for this girl there’ll never see anyone who compares. Rest In Peace Prince. We’ll keep your music playing.🙏💜
Just when you think you have a handle on this... his passing... you watch this and hear the love there was for him, and you notice tears rolling down your face, unchecked . My "Prince Story" is odd and sad but strangely comforting. I was in a physical rehabilitation hospital after massive back surgery. I had to learn how to walk and bend all over again. One morning I woke up with a strong desire to wear the lavender shirt and purpleish shorts I had, so the nurses helped me. I was sitting there watching the news later when the announcement was made. Needless to say I was shocked. The doctor came in, he was middle age like me, but he had on a purple tie and said " I see you wore your purple today to honor Prince".. I was like " Huh? " and then I looked down and saw what I had on and that's when the dam burst and I started sobbing. Not crying but sobbing like I'd just lost my other half.
I remember I was in 6th grade, my English teacher (my cousin) asked me to come into the hallway, she said “logan, prince died” I started tearing up. I bawled the whole day.
Like all of the other artists who came for a short period of time, people like Prince come around once in a thousand years to gift the world with their creative genius.

I was truly sad when he died, but mostly indifferent to Prince growing up, although I enjoyed his more pop/ mainstream songs. Now in my mid-30s I'm realising just how supremely talented he was and I'm discovering gems that are becoming my favourite songs ever! I have a newfound appreciation for his work. RIP to a legend.
If you asked me, My heart sank when Prince died a hell of a lot more than when Michael Jackson died. You can thank people such as Diane Dimond, Martin Bashir, and Nancy Grace to name a few. Oh, let us not forget, and forgive Latoya Jackson.

Last year my 24 years old Granddaughter Devin passed away.....and purple rain was played., And ended with I will always love you......I never was able to have the honor to see Prince nor Whitney.....but am so very Blessed to have all of their albums. 💗
Ona Corona bless her. 24 is too young. What a beautiful choice of Prince song. I saw Prince twice here in Scotland. It was unforgettable. During his Diaminds and Pearls tour, with Mayte, Diamond and Pearl.
Prince is right there with all his fans in spirit form… He is asking that his fans and vision purple rain flowing down onto earth during the coronavirus pandemic… The colour purple is a very high vibrational energy and will aid in the healing process💜💜💜💜💜
I am so grateful to have breathed air on this planet at the same time as this genius . I get to tell my grandchildren of my Prince memories . And generations from now will wished they were 14 years old and got to wait in line to see Purple rain the movie and feel the excitement of telling your friends you saw it and how great it was. I am so glad I got to experience the summer of 84.
the guy on the phone was a worker from a Rehab in Calf. He was there to take Prince back with him. Its very sad he was just to late. i was at Paisley Park recently and it still hurts. Thanks Prince. We Love u!
He was a genius. He was in his own league, he could do it all musically. I was saddened by his passing at such a young age. There will never be anyone like him...
I grew up on the music. I remember my aunt bought his 1st album For You in 1978. My favorite albums were Dirty Mind and 1999! Classics!!! The brother lives 4ever!!!
I’m only 11 minutes in and my eyes are filled with tears. We were both born in 1958 and it still breaks my heart to know he’s gone. I’ll have to watch this another day. ;(
The words MUSICAL GENIUS are thrown around with alot of people. But when it comes to PRINCE. It's barely adequate. He was really something special. I play his music everyday. Especially PURPLE RAIN and SIGN O THE TIMES.
Actually i was personally impressed by the tribute Gabrielle Union paid Prince in her memoires. INCREDIBLE and ASTONISHING. I DIDN'T know he HELPED SO MANY BIG ARTISTS IN HOLLYWOOD.
In tears when I think of our Prince's absence and pure joy when I think about all the music he shared with us. He was a creative force, an anomaly made of creative energy. A musical wizard and an inspiration for all musicians. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 We miss our Prince here in Minneapolis.
I still miss Prince so much, now 7 years later. I don't see that Prince were an enigma. His music and lyrics more or less explains what was on his mind 💜💜💜💜💜💜❤ All of this and more is for Us With love, sincerity and deepest care His life with us he shared.
Love you Prince. Another beautiful, super talented artist lost to the world, who's music will live on forever. God bless you and rest in peace handsome.🙏🏻🙌🏻😘
I've wondered about that the last couple of years myself.. in a very, very, short period of time, we lost more than just a few well known retired members of the music industry - we lost some of the Greatest entertainers of all time - with no plans of slowing down - Prince, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, David Bowie, Tom Petty, - I know I left out a few others too - but dam... God give-ith.. and Drugs take-ith away
One of those documentaties made for people who know nothing about him. Little respect given by the narration. The man was a musical genius with high morals which he rightfully stood up for. He was so much more than just his music.
Well said...this documentary totally miss the mark..u can tell the ppl behind this was/ is just try'n to capitalize of his Name & that's it..it's almost disrespectful & pretentious the way they speak on Prince
Prince was a simple man who knew what he wanted. He didn't care what others thought of him. He was, and will always be "the man"...RIP FOR EVER PRINCE!!!
The one thing I agree with in this documentary is that he was innovative in many styles of music. Ive told people many times that you will never hear any Prince song that sounds alike!! That's why his fans never tire of listening to his music!!
The prettiest man I ever saw multitalented a musical genius there will never be another Prince thank you for all the music beautiful music you made for us
I saw him live in concert a number of times. I visited his shop/cafe in Camden, London, he was with the NPG. So I kept my distance and just looked and listened. I am so glad that I was able to see him in concert at the 02, the 3121 tour. I had 2 tickets to the after show, unfortunately I took my ex wife too. To watch him perform in the small club was where he needed to be seen. He died for our entertainment, the pain in his knees from the dancing and jumping from speaker or piano. Before Prince there was Elvis, with Prince gone there is Nobody worth listening too! He also taught me and many others to see the beauty in every woman.
Prince had major hip problems and was on his way to needing a hip replacement. He wore 8 inch heals every day of his life from about 20 onward and moved like Michael Jackson with a guitar in his hands for 6-7 hours of every day, sometimes more. He needed painkillers to survive the chronic pain and gruelling schedule he undertook week in week out, year in year out, besides sleeping 3 hours a day. It’s no surprise he died so young. I’m surprised he made it as far as he did. He gave everything and the universe decided he’d done enough.
Prince, of Blessed Memory, thank you G-d, for giving us this great artist even though it was for a short time, greatest guitarist, most versatile artist!
First of ALL, under the cherry moon was amazing and really gives that kind of "True Love" and an essence of the 80's. It had me in tears when i watched it. It was amazing and should've gotten more credit and popularity than it was given. R.I.P to such a great man. sometimes i wish i was born in this time. lol.
I've always loved Prince's music and felt that he always had a special love affair with his fans every time he sang one of his songs. I remember when I first saw Prince's movie "Purple Rain" when it was first released in the early '80s in the Village (in Manhattan)--I cried at the end of the movie when he sang the signature song of the movie title. Prince, I love you, I miss you! We all love you, may you R.I.P.
I've have had a very real love for Prince since the first time I seen him. Not infatuation. Not the love of a devoted fan. But still not quite THE REAL DEAL...because we never met. My feeling for Prince have always run very deep. That hasn't stopped. I will love this incredible man for the rest of my life. Wish I could've known him. If I could have met ANYONE... I woulda been PRINCE! Gone but NEVER forgotten. Love you Prince!
Prince was a beautiful handsome Creole originating from Louisiana.....His spirt was a beautiful as he was and He was the ONLY GREAT MUSICIAN of an era!!!! The Greatest since Mozart....
I'm sitting here thinking about what 2say...I can only say:"PRINCE." He has definition beyond words. Prince means:living your passion and taking all of us on the journey with him through his brilliance, his mine field of eternal poems set to THAT SOUND. Funk, and magic...sweat and more sweat...Explosions that erupted from that soul that is only Prince. That soul, that music became one with his fans. That's PRINCE:an amalgamation of Past, Present, and our journey down the road. Etheral...
My fisrt lenguage is spanish so if i write something wrong im sorry. I was 15 when i meet prince with the sing gold and i remeber the feel that he gave me it was poweful and so beatiful and then i remember someone told me "oh yeah he is a singer but he is really weird look at the way he dress" and at the time i was feeling like an outsider ugly and weird and in my etes prince was so beatiful brillian and talented and make me think is ok to be "weird" and express yourself so everytime i feel shy or emaraced about my looks i go back to prince and sometime i eas like oh he's talking to me he understand me now i'm almost 23 and im way more confident about myself and my looks but i'm still in love with prince and his music and fashon ...... so thank you prince you don't even know what you did for me i will always keep you in my heart
It’s funny how everyone still compares Prince to MJ. Even in death. I can’t tell you this....Prince was the musicians musician, the modern Mozart. MJ on the other hand was a singer/dancer. I must pay tribute to MJ, as he was an original major player and both were kings of their day. Prince on the other hand was the silent assassin, the ultimate musician. I wish more people got to see this talent. Many concerts later and I can tell you he was the greatest performer I have ever seen in my life. Bravo Sir, what an era I lived in. I’m proud to have seen such a talent in their prime, he was always pushing the boundaries, gave power back to modern musicians, will be missed and IS totally irreplaceable. RIP purple Yoda xxx
Well said @EdParker!! Best concert out of literally hundreds that I have had the pure pleasure to experience....his concert (Purple Rain Tour-March 1985-The Omni, Atlanta....FRONT AND CENTER)...was not "just a concert or show", but seeing/feeling/hearing Prince, was, as we used to say "a TOTAL RELIGIOUS experience!!" RIP Our Beloved Prince....see ya on the Other Side!
I have been to many concerts and enjoyed every one of them but the 13 times I saw Prince were the best moments of my life …I live in Belgium so if I would have lived in the Us that would have been times 10 …were the best moments of my life …Thanks to My Hero I know the definition of being truly happy ! INCLUDING, US.... IS HERE FOLKS!!!! ALL MY CHURCH GOING DECADES WERE NOT, …FOR NOTHING … AFTERALL!!! AWESOME.
The many years of intense performing on stage, you know, leaping from giant speakers, jumps landing in a Grand Ecart. He was as nimble as a cat. I believe that started to cause him a lot of pain. That guy at 5:40 makes it sound as if Prince sold his soul to get what was necessary. He didn't need to do that. He already had all the skills, talent, and creativity.
It is sad but Prince will live forever.. I was so lucky that grew with him when he first started out in the 70s.. love 💕 Prince now and for always 💜💜💜💜🎼🎼🎼🎼
I have missed him from the very day I knew he had passed, and I will miss him f💜rever and ever. I never saw him as someone who would EVER die. He was larger than life and I never, until now, realized that tomorrow is not promised to anyone, including my Prince. I eill ALWAYS carry him in my heart, my soul, and my mind 24x7 ☝️💜
When Prince died the music of the 80s did too I remember the first time I saw purple rain and every time I see purple rain it brings back memories of the 80s rest in peace Prince
On 31 December, 1999 in Perth, the radio stations all played the same songs that were co-ordinated with the fireworks show over the city and river. It was just so special when 1999 came on. Every time I hear the song now, it reminds me of that night. Maybe it's time addictive drugs are highly regulated and those who have been prescribed them, have to go into a clinic to collect each single dose. We are losing too many great people to drug addiction under the guise of prescriptions.
Prince was one in a gazillion! Incredibly talented, sexy but poised, shy but an icon on stage, beautiful person inside and out. Miss you, you amazing man 💜💜💜
He sung a part of Cinnamon Girl to me at the after party at the Black Forest Theatre in Dallas following the Musicology tour. Me and my friend left the concert during his final set singing Purple Rain to get standing positions at the theatre because we heard through her cousin that was in a band with Erykah Badu's sister and they along with Erkayh and my neighbor were performing that night thar Prince would be in the building. Of course I wore purple as he requested on the concert ticket at American Airlines. So when he came through he set in the balcony and watched for an hour and then he got on stage and he and his band got on stage and jammed out, singing songs I've never heard of and then he ended with Cinnamon Girl. He gave us 1hr of straight music. It was better than the AA concert. Truly the after party was the most memorable night in my life. RIH PRINCE!
It was my understanding that he became hooked on pain pills due to years of the heels and making jumps off of huge speakers and dancing/ knees to standing type moves. To get a hip replacement he wanted to avoid, he had concert dates set up and a doctor or two who complied to his drug needs. Who really knows? Just a huge shock to the system when he passed. Very sad.

According to Prince, "The Artist Formerly Known As" was a media invention. He never gave himself that name. Also, the symbol came about because of his contractual disputes with WB. Anything released by "Prince" belonged to them during that time, so he creatively got around that with the symbol.

When Prince passed away she was on the tv an news stations still lying an making money from his death for the last 3an1/2yrs.
Now when she is able to perform after this terrible virus she will not be making money off of singing his songs unless she gets permission to become a Prince tribute band and I know she don’t want to do that she needs to start writing her own songs and singing them if that’s what she wants to do bc she is really a drummer not a lead singer.
I cried for days after the news hit. He was a musical genius, my generations mozart and I was truly privileged to have seen, heard and been part of it. He did so much for charities, fans and other stories he came across and unlike celebrities of today who do everything for likes and fame. This man is truly missed.

There needs to b a lifetime movie about prince!!!!.
The day Prince died, my heart sunk because he was everything I wanted to be musically.
Radical Bryan how about Michael Joseph Jackson the king of pop dead did your heart sunk or no
If you asked me, My heart sank when Prince died a hell of a lot more than when Michael Jackson died. You can thank people such as Diane Dimond, Martin Bashir, and Nancy Grace to name a few. Oh, let us not forget, and forgive Latoya Jackson.

I don’t know if my mind will ever be able to explain to my heart that he is gone. It just doesn’t seem possible.
Beautifully put.
You put into words exactly how I also feel, thank you.
Same. My heart refuses to believe or accept it
I have separated his death from the music.
Prince had the most beautiful soul ❤💟❤ great sense of humor..inside he was very shy & in the stage he was a tiger..I will miss him always. 💜💜💜
I still miss Prince so much, now 7 years later. I don't see that Prince were an enigma. His music and lyrics more or less explains what was on his mind 💜💜💜💜💜💜❤

One of those documentaties made for people who know nothing about him. Little respect given by the narration. The man was a musical genius with high morals which he rightfully stood up for. He was so much more than just his music.
Correct.

I started to cry the first second of this video. We love you Prince.
Yes He could fuse music together like it was meant to be that way, only he could do that, amazing!
He was SACRIFICED! R.I.P. PURPLE ONE!❤

Etheral...

Prince inspires me to play like he did. We are indeed Blessed by his musical gifts.

The many years of intense performing on stage, you know, leaping from giant speakers, jumps landing in a Grand Ecart.
He was as nimble as a cat. I believe that started to cause him a lot of pain.
