I love both Diana and Jonas (and Plácido too), but from a musical viewpoint it’s absolutely awful. Damrau sings here with ugly tone, Kaufmann’s voice is too heavy for the turns. But it’s fun and entertaining anyway.
I’ve heard Brindisi sung much worse! This production doesn’t seem like a very serious entertainment - more like a bunch of singers having fun for a might- so let them and save the criticism for a serious production.

Pas un rôle pour Diana Damrau qui est soprano léger. Elle s'en sort car c'est une grande artiste, mais elle peine dans les graves, fait péniblement les fa graves en voix de poitrine, et les médiums pas assez sonores sont forcés, compensés par un vibrato trop large, pas du tout la meilleur Violetta, mais une des meilleures Dame de la nuit...

She has mic hidden inside the dress, because wherever she goes, there is louder breathing than singing.I understan d it is a big hall, and i understand a mic in front of her , a little further, but not the mic hidden through the hair or inside the dress or even forehead....the technology of sound enhancement is so advanced nowadays...
Luciana Jen there's a mic because it is a televised show, not because of the big hall, and they need to record the sound. Same goes for all the other recordings of her performances.
Neither of these singers should be singing these roles. Kauffman is a great tenor but he does not have the lightness and technical coloratura skills for the role. Damrau is simply mangling the beauty of the line to ""interpret"" forgetting that interpretation is only meaningful when it enhances the music rather that fools around with it. Also, her covered and cold voice, which is heard to great benefit in German coloratura roles, is simply wrong for Verdi.
