Holy sh*t this is the best video I have seen on this topic. I've been a dev for 13 years now, did the usual job hopping until recently I started my own business. It's crazy to me that you are giving this info out for free, If I saw your stuff 13 years ago I would be on a completely different life trajectory. Keep going with the amazing content - seems like you are getting a lot of people trying to copy you now as well.
Second engineer job gives you 100% increase and if you mastered it work doesnt take s lot of time, management position gives you 0-20% increase and a lot of headache, growth is a lie no matter what you do in company - you will always be just a servant.
As a Sr. IT Manager I totally agree with this. I would only add that many times you need to change your role or the company if there are no opportunities.

Man I cant land a junior role first in this bad market

Thank you for sharing your valuable insights and helpful advice. I really appreciate it!
Writing code that only you can understand makes you indispensable. We need more of that!
Don't fool yourself… nobody is indispensable
my situation is different...the leadership does not want anything to be changed...and is made by friends of friends of friends :|
Great perspective. We can apply this to all job role
Love your content
Thanks Bgo making us realizing our mistake.
We have to take charge of own growth instead of depending on others for the same.
Yep, that's me. Same spot for almost 6 years. But I was stuck in a war zone, and had to escape North Korea-style from Ukraine Gulag.
