    Hey Chad & Jolene, just another idea in amongst all the others…..the bumper overriders(that’s what we call them in Australia)could be modified via a vertical section removed from the centre, then make a light box to suit and mount it internally with an epoxy. For the lens which would have to be removable for globe replacement if necessary, make a mould out of plasticine in the correct contour a touch oversized so you can trim too fit. Pour your lenses using 2 part epoxy resin either in clear with coloured globes in mind or add a red pigment to get the desired colour, use LED globes to minimise heat and maximise luminosity. I think what your doing with the cones is good, as I said just another spin on it….I hope I explained this idea well enough, I can see the vertical lights in the overriders in my mind and they are definitely custom! Love the videos, thank you 🙏 all the best from Australia 🇦🇺 PeterB.

    Something very similar to Chad Chrome is what I used to use when I was a kid. It's been so long ago I wouldn't dare say it's the same thing but it rolled off kind of like weather stripping for a camper shell on a truck. We're going back to the day seventies early '80s here but I was a kid I was tearing apart or first year Chevy 2 Nova. I think has 12 maybe 10 years old. Anyway I did for you replace those red lenses with Amber or halogen or some other kind of light and you can use them up on front hi for driving lights or turn signal lights. Keep on creating.

    I don't think that's going to be a good idea, putting the tail lights on the bumper. You're going to end up replacing them often. And if they stick out any it's going to visually add to the length of the rear end in my opinion. The frenched in tail lights would be the way to go and I believe that was Chad's original plan for the tail lights.

If you do the Bad Chad Flexible Chrome each end cut against the light will be at a different angle and be very difficult to fit it nicely .Looking good so far.. Good Luck ...

    I like the front grille, very good choice. 😎👍
    The rear lights look good on the bumper but it doesn't seem like a great idea to me...
    Perhaps it was better to mount them a little higher in a less vulnerable area, such as eg. between the trunk and the fender. It would also be easier to apply chrome on the bumper.

    That plastic chrome only lasts a year or two and then turns grey. It's cheap and nasty. Chrome wrap is better as long as you get high quality stretchy stuff.

    Okay that's neat for auxiliary lights on the bumper but if you got one that would so we say somewhat French into the body and follow the lines of the body as it sloped up. Where if it did protrude from the body it would only be very minimal. I don't know where you going to put your license plate at I'm assuming in the middle of the trunk unless you put your spare tire there. But if you could put a license plate auxiliary third light there at least. I've got old cars that sit lower to the ground and people just don't see the light road hypnosis whatever the reason. Function has to be in there as well as style. All my opinions. But it does give it that European 30s flare of a more expensive car than a Chevy in the late 40s. Enjoying the episode thus far

  • @rickcasey611

    Drill out the bumper holes as large as you can get them.then insert the holder and Reflector from the rear [if it'll go] ...tack tack .A couple of small threaded brackets and a backplate for the bulb holder. Possibly a thin rubber gasket to seal the backplate.
    You could further reduce the size of the body of the shade but keep the back of it flush.👍

    Hey Bad Chad! I think your going to have issues with the tail lights on the bumper Bud because they're going to stick out further then the bumper guards did there No protection of the lenses and your not going to replace those to easy if the bust? you have them cut down try them on the rear center of the fender and see what they look like cut down on that area better situation and chroming the bumper will be a breeze!🤔 Good luck guys like the content and videos Great job Jolene!😉👍📹✔️💯👋👋👋

  • @johnivey7913
    @johnivey7913 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just wondering Chad and Jolene Maybe if you looked at the way you got your lights maybe you can pull the bumper closer to the body and leave that bumper splash pan off and put the bumper up next to the body and hug it up next to it but it still looks pretty good what I could see but you're the man thought I'd throw that in there might help you on the tail light situation too love your work love how you do things with you both as a great team

  • @monadking2761
    @monadking2761 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tack a plate on the inside of the cut tail light housing with a square hole in it for a carriage bolt that will hold it on since you can take the lenses off.
    BTW you could mount the ink pen on the edge of the tape parallel to the floor at you 2" height. Put the cone on the floor next to it and rotate the cone on the floor and the pen will leave a line on the edge of the cone, like a surface plate marking a part's height. It will leave a perfect line on your cone.

    The lights would look better sitting on those large and empty panels, showcasing some clean fabrication skill. It would also be nice to see a build that doesn't use chrome strips from Dollar Tree. Grey painted bumpers and trim would look much higher quality and give it a modern restomod look.
    The whole point of chrome is to admire the elegant curves of the bumper, which you can't do with adhesive blobs stuck on; all you see is economically-priced Chinese goods in a row.

    and this leaves You also a hole to mount the bulb fitting and wires.
    and then bolt back the complete bumper and welded on brackets as one back to the frame.

    but not a big fan of the Madonna cone bra taillights on the bumper.
    Round tailights would compliment more the shape of the car, or even some "subtile" tail fins on the rear fenders
