- Congress' Pawan Khera attacks SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch over irregularities in a press conference at AICC HQ.
SEBI is facing criticism from some aggrieved shareholders for its role in the merger between ICICI Bank Ltd. and ICICI Securities, a subsidiary of which the lender owns almost 75%. In June last year, it announced a plan to acquire the rest of the brokerage by offering 67 shares of ICICI for every 100 of ICICI Securities.
In an Aug. 10 note, Hindenburg Research drew attention to SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch’s past personal investments and her ownership of a consulting outfit to question the watchdog’s objectivity in probing the Adani Group, the target of the short seller’s original January 2023 report. The infrastructure conglomerate, which suffered a $150 billion drop in its market value in the aftermath of the publication, has strenuously denied the short seller’s claims of stock-price manipulation. The group’s shares have recouped most of their losses. Buch described the allegation of potential conflict as “character assassination” and said that she made all the appropriate disclosures and recusals.

Where is she hiding? when will she answer all the allegations against her? Where is SEBI board? whats it reply about SEBI chief conflict of interest? Investors need clarification from Finance ministry.
MoF (i.e. Shit a ramen) is waiting for Modani's instructions about how to proceed on this sticky wicket. Meanwhile, their PR kids are on the job - defending their masters with the cliche bs that _"this is an attempt to malign her reputation and stall the economic growth of the country"_ LOL Bhakt kids have the same response for anything they are speechless about.

Any amount of malpractices and conflict of interest is not a problem as long as you are doing Modani's job. Gobi hai toh mumkin hai.

If she manages such amounts in account then how much she would have got in cash which is difficult to expose. There will be many cases where the SEBI decision would have influenced by bribing in cash.
Nothing surprising with this discovery. She was handpicked by "Modani" - a team where one is non-graduate and the other is non-matriculate. Gotam's entire growth has been by malpractices, manipulation of policies, favoritism and abuse of govt clout.
