At 22 I managed one of the biggest nightclubs in New York City.. a club called sound factory.. One of the reasons I got promoted so fast was my ability to market the club and make the customer experience so good that they had to come back and bring friends. At 22 I managed one of the biggest nightclubs in New York City.. a club called sound factory.. One of the reasons I got promoted so fast was my ability to market the club and make the customer experience so good that they had to come back and bring friends. I tell you, if I ran a movie theater there would be people coming to the movie theater for the movie theater more than the movie.
I say that to say, these movie theater owners put no imagination into their space.
I would link up with local restaurants and businesses to have free samples, people in costumes, free giveaways, celebrity appearances, so many things that people would come to the theater for the theater and the movie would be the bonus
I think that Hollywood and theaters need to re-examine the theatrical experience.
Frankly whoever sets these projections. What are these based on anyway.
“A die hard horror audience that will show up for almost anything”. Drag me
Come to Arizona Grace and experience Harkins Theatres. I honestly believe your view on theatre would change. Lake pleasant has Harkins CineGrill which offers excellent dine in experience.
Shame Harkins isn't on the east coast.
Box office predictions are always so interesting, thanks for sharing this info! 🤔
Hello and Good Afternoon to You Grace I just wanted You to know that The Fall Guy is coming out available Tomorrow On Digital. YES Boy Kills World was pushed up a Week instead of next Tuesday also it seems that Tarot might be coming out Tomorrow instead of next Tuesday but only by what I’ve read?
Shogun was also on FX... so plenty of people were watching it on basic cable not streaming
I agree and disagree with you Grace and you mentioned Dune Part 2 as a must see theater experience but again you forgot to mention how Godzilla x Kong was also a must see theater experience with it's larger than life Titan battles. That movie went on to earn $80 plus million at the box office. To me it depends on the types of movies that are playing.
Will watch Challengers on streaming.
In the last three years, I have rented/bought 2 or 3 movies on digital. Once I miss it in theaters, I’m just waiting until streaming. I’m surprised people spend money on digital.
I try and go to the theater about once a week or every 2 weeks. I will always enjoy the theater experience. Luckily ive had pretty well behaved people in my screenings. Something about going to the theater, getting my icee and popcorn is still magical
I literally do not care to watch IF and wont even watch it when it comes to streaming
Oh no… anyways
@@packedentertainment2866 Just stating my opinion as others may feel the same way. Don't like it see the movie again in my place otherwise I could care less
@@Storytellerviiixi ok
O can’t stand how souless it looks
Cannot wait for the new Movie Math as Furiosa is coming in so low from projections! I hope Grace mentions these initial numbers vs what actually happened to give perspective!
Grace I’m at canne right now. Been having the best time of my life. I met Ron Howard, and Chris hemsworth and woody Harrison. And went to the red carpet of the new Nick cage movie
My local walkable cinema recently introduced a super cheap £12 a monthly movie pass, recliners INCLUDED! I honestly can’t believe it such a good deal! Prior id still go to the movies about once/twice a month, but now I go weekly, sometimes twice a week! It’s honestly the highlight of my week, I walk up with my brother after work, grab snacks from a store and have a great time!
Joker 2 is my next theater event
It would have been interesting if a movie like _Joker_ had opened between _Superman_ and _Superman II_ back in 1979.
No love for _Evil_ season 4 dropping this week...? Been in the top 10 for a few weeks now at Variety.
I admire you Grace! Thank you for putting a smile on my face by releasing new content every day. You’re the best 👑
Inside Out 2 I'd see out of these but the theater experience really hurts with how people are. Probably wait for Disney Plus
It won't be on Disney Plus for at least another year.
It's wild, I've never been able to tell the difference between premium screens and regular ones at my theaters.
I think they're more expensive, like for a 3D movie: Dolby or IMAX.
I finally got to see PotA on Friday and was really pleased that I enjoyed it! The previous trilogy is one of my all time favourite trilogies but this was the first film I got to see in cinemas. Really hope we get more sequels
Price point for tickets and food prices are the biggest deterrence from my friends and family. Also, waiting a few weeks to see it digital for certain movies that don't have to be seen on big screen.
I am starting to see a correlation between Ryan Gosling and Tom Cruise, box office-wise.
Can you elaborate? Gosling doesn't have a major franchise and wasn't the main star of Barbie. He was a co-lead or supporting actor.
I dunno... I've been going less and less to the thearter... I'll catch these at home... Deadpool would get me out but if i dont get a ticket opening night/week, I might skip that as well...
Bruh. Just remember that mentality when theaters go out of business because another person decided to give up on theaters & rely on streaming/digital.
@@packedentertainment2866 Dune 2 has shown that theaters have been reserved for big events. Everything else people just wait for streaming.
@@packedentertainment2866 yes, good point... but theaters are not innocent in all of this.
I still go to movie theaters, but to support "the movies," not the theaters themselves.
brady has a $375M broadcasting deal with FOX he starts in the fall so he’s gonna be alright 😂😂
Half of that goes to his manager and the other half to the divorce. Lmao
Is anyone else way more hyped for House of the Dragon than Deadpool? I feel like i got my X-MEN fix sufficiently scratched by X-MEN 97, and now I’m ready to travel back into WESTEROS!
Can’t go opening weekend, but definitely seeing Bad Boys
I am doing the Garfiosa double feature
I’m waiting for challengers to be put up on SALE cause I wanna own it.. but also I won’t rent for anything upwards of 10 dollars + I’ve already watched it twice in theaters so I can wait for a physical copy including digital
In the UK here, I try avoid multiplexes as much as possible because they're full of A-holes. If a film is only available at one, i'll make a point of going when i know it's going to be quiet.
Early Movie Math, let's go!!!
great video, thank you :)
Thank you for including box office projections
How to have the best theater experience: Go in the morning. Problem solved.
Or go to the latest showing during the week. Because of work, if I want to see a movie, I go to the 11pm showing. It should be noted this doesn't work for all movies. I went to see No Way Home that Saturday morning and it was packed.
if only everyone could... morning showtimes aren't available everywhere or everyday... hell, locally, movies don't even start until around 3 pm most of the time
Just don't pick the "new mothers" screening, which I did by mistake a few years ago, where they leave the lights on.
@@brandononbrand The theater I go to use to have showings as early as 9am. Now, 1pm is the earliest.
Even if I could go to more early screenings-and I would like to-there are those of us who have to work...
I agree that earliest showing on the weekend can be good 👍
this is one thing I like about going to see smaller/indie movies, or horror movies a week or so after opening... there's barely anyone there!
It’s $8 for a small soda here. $10 for a small popcorn. There’s no way I can justify spending that after paying $12-$20 for a ticket
Sorry about your experience. I've not had the same. I love going to AMC Theaters in the SF Bay Area
I can’t wait for Twisters
Here in Argentina Garfield is one of the top hits since last week
at least apes is doing the same as war but really makes you wonder what was there secret formula for dawn 😂
No secret. 2nd movie bump, as Dawn raised the stakes after Rise was well-received. Also, Summer 2014 was weird, with Dawn being the sole event movie of July.
War dropped off from Dawn because it looked like a reprise of Dawn.
I think it’s simple, the trailer had an ape on horseback wielding two machine guns. It was iconic and is still the image most people think of when they think of that whole trilogy. War had a boring prison escape storyline in comparison.
@@-AtomsPhere- thats true, I think after these 2 films its clear the franchise needs to go back to apes vs humans conflict & introduce another koba/ proximus type character to be present throughout
Building on the momentum of the first film, was a great film loved by critics and audiences, had legs cos no big competition for a month til the first GOTG
I already have tickets for Furiosa at my Alamo Drafthouse. The only theater I see movies at because of their audience rules.
how much is that Alamo ticket, though?
I still go to the theater but only 3 weeks or so after release. I make sure that the theater is mostly empty.
is it really something to celebrate if a movie opens at $35 mill, tbh hollywood has fallen off and this summer is the weakest we have had in a LONG time
I completely agree about the movie theaters being too high price. I would love to go see the movies, but it's gotten too expensive. Even on $5 Tuesday... That's a school night. Might change during the summer. 🤷
Why does Grace use the iTunes chart? Why not prime video or google play?
I didn't realize Bad Boys was so close to opening
❌❌❌
Dark Matter on Apple TV was extremely disappointing 🤦♀️
Interesting concept, great acting, but the storyline is full with holes; black holes 🤦♀️
My Dune 2 nightmare story is that I went to the early IMAX sneak preview showing and my entire row reeked of weed for the whole movie because of someone in front of me. Saw him hitting his dab pen multiple times during the movie which people say are "odorless." That was the only major annoyance but I didn't come to an early IMAX showing to have to smell weed the whole movie because potheads dont think it's as socially taboo as smoking cigarettes indoors is. Columbia Maryland btw.
inside out 2 trailers have massive buzz and it was a cultural event when it came out so i can see it matching or going higher than the original at the box office
Last year, when I went to go see the Flash (mind u this was in an Imax theater) a man right next to me was on his phone. Same thing happened when I went to go see the Marvels (which was even worse because the theater right next to me was blaring the Eras Tour movie). Now I won't go see a movie on opening day cause it's too crowded.
Today is my B Day. Thanks for the shout out on the last stream.
