    Just a footnote....Oman was a once a powerful country responsible for slavery in East Africa in the 17th and 18th century especially in Tanzania and the island of Zanzibar..the and there are still remnants of Omani culture on the island of Zanzibar in "Stone Town" Fast forward to present day....there are now good relations between the two countries.

    Xavier, your guest said he visited Zanzibar. There is some history between Zanzibar and Oman. ometime in the 19th Century, the ruler or Sultan of Oman moved his capital from Muscat to Stone town in Zanzibar and pretty much ruled over Zanzibar until 1964 when African nationalists killed approximately 15,000 Arabs and Asians who were essentially the ruling class and overthrew the Sultan who fled to London. Some of the Arabs returned to their native Oman. To this day , there is quite a number of Africans especially from East Africa who live in Oman.

    • @oyaami1874
      @oyaami1874 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are very selective with your history. The arabs invaded Zanzibar and enslaved the Africans killing a large percentage of the population. Nice try though.
