@@Bestestmostbetter haha fr, but 16 bit cpu in minecraft is a bit inpractical, since redstone signal strength only goes to 15 which limit most redstone cpu into 8 bit, there are another way but its a bit tricky. I could try it sometime!
@lmtees oh so the signal strength is used to do the bcd to binary and the screen numbers? i struggled too much to understand signal strength and the lamp light up system or shift registers so i just used command blocks. still had to make every number on every slot with command blocks, and also make a decoder and encoder to get my input panel for my 16 bit calc to be able to read numbers up to 65k. (i had to make a hardware data bank with 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100,200,300,400,500,600,etc. and it just adds the different places together with 16 bit adders to get the binary i need to input into whatever circuit. i.e. 62416 would be 60000+2000+400+10+6 and i use a piston feed tape or i think its called a ring counter in coding to change where im putting numbers and what type of math im doing (add,sub,mult,div) i just couldnt wrap my head around the tutorials and explanations for the other way to do it. If you used command blocks properly you could make a color screen no? itd be just as if not more impressive than the standard lamp screen. also might be faster because its removing a whole process.
@lightmonochrome in the real world, people often have the CPU and RAM or ROM on separate chips. but since chips are not really a thing in MC, people tend to build things really close together
@doer-disc I think there are tricks you can use to make a relatively fast "1x1" display: You can re-model the redstone dots like in a sprite display to get you 2x2 pixels per dot, which can be arranged in a 2x2 grid, resulting in 1x1 pixels. But this is annoying: You now have to deal with "analog" redstone(non-binary "hex" signals need to be preserved), and also this requires a specially-crafted resource pack.
Maybe we can make it 9-bit for 2s compliment and around 1000 RAM instructions, It may be hard. The rest is just the same as our computer. (I think our computer have the same specs)
I really do love your CPUs for their simplicity, I’m part of ORE (Open Redstone Engineers, big computational redstone server) and the requirements for CPUs often lead us to be less appreciative of simple CPUs that really just lead us to appreciate humanity’s innovations as a whole :) 🤍

@@CoolStop2 you could speed up the redstone with carpet mod, which allow 25x speed up! If you want to go further, you could use MCHPRS
